They were very good WCW, but the point with these two (Spargo and ANB), is they are very alike and don’t hit the scoreboard often enough. Spargo and his score assists are good but not amazing like others hang their hat on. Time will tell when the chips are down will these two provide too much of, same same, with little input like last year. Chandler has shown in very little time he can chase, tackle, harass, kick goals, with good skill and give off goals in the same games and perform at a higher level. I hope this continues. Who knows how Bedford would have performed…. I believe there is room for one of Spargo or ANB, not two of them if we are going to improve and be serious contenders. Together they have been liabilities too often, Individually they provide value.

I like this. You can add mid season draft pick swap too. Keeps an extra eye on the second grade AFL players and move up to target a player.

Fast becoming a favourite of mine. He is one of those players who is always nipping at your ankles. Chases, harasses, tackles then gets up and creates an option moving forward and kicks goals. I’d love to see a bit of mongrel in his game and get in the oppositions face occasionally. Not sure that is his style tho..

On paper I like Petty, JVR and TMac as our preferred forward structure. It brings aerial and ground ball contest and 3 mobile forwards able to rotate moving up the ground and back. But, BBB has been kicking goals. I liked Petty’s game last week. He competed in the air, on the ground and always looked dangerous. The goals will come. Loved how he brought some mongrel in the forward line. Inferred pressure is important and creates turn over.

There isn’t many games you would think of as a blockbuster, much watch game. The tiges and bullies game is the only game you would think with form and rivalry could make an interesting game. Pies and Lions should be a good watch depending on which Lions outfit turns up. I’ll be cheering for the Crows and Hawks…

Is Schache a possible selection if BBB needs a rest and TMac needs an extra run at VFL level? TMac hasn’t played for 9 months prior to his two games this year and looked rusty and not up to speed.

West Coast need a spanking for that effort. It will come next week.
