You could ave more points in midfield compared to somebody else in defense but not be classed as elite compared to the defender who is. Is Jones in the top 10% mids full stop. NO. Its all just a bit of risk and reward. I think quick ball movement is the key weather its around boundary or up the middle.

Defenders live and die by midfield pressure. No pressure and it doesn't matter who the defender is the forward will be able to lead out and take easy marks on most occasions. Apply pressure around the midfield and the ball will mostly be bombed long to a contest and the defenders will have a easy spoil and the forward looks useless.

Agree although I'd have Bail in as you say as I think Neeld likes him. However Im not much of a fan of Dunn and would prefer grimes head back to half back but I know we prob need him more in the midfeild. I've also not given up on Davey if he can get fit but we loose nothing with Byrnes in the FP instead.

No im not. The grimes live/grew up in diamond creek however they actually all played up the road at hurstbridge. Although the oldest did play a couple years of senior footy at creek.
