Farewell Jesse Hogan
Weideman would also be a great option as CHB. Played U18 games there and showed he could play the position.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Correct. We have hit the first round hard over the last 4 years. An A grade defender wants to come to us and some are arguing the fact that we may have paid a little over. just get the the deal done. 2012 - Hogan, Viney* 2013 - Salem, Tyson* 2014 Trac, Brayshaw, Lever* 2015 - Oliver, Weed Thats 9 first round draft picks into the club from the last 4 drafts. Not using one in this year or next draft isn't going to make a huge difference with what we have done and planned for the last 3-4 years.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Keeping next years 1st round would have been ideal but its not that bad a deal. Its basically Lever for pick 10 and around pick 40 when you add/include the points value and the other pics included. Out - 10, 15ish (2018 1st) & 60ish (2018 4th) In - Lever, 35 & 50ish (2018 3rd). Net result out - 10 and pick 40ish (pick 6 equivalent points) In - lever WIN

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Thats the deal that I could see getting it done but Id go for the 2018 2nd rounder back. Next year draft a lot stronger than this year. The 2nd round this year not going to be much quality available.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
With what i hear this draft is very shallow but next year is looking a lot deeper. @ChaserJ might be able to confirm. Id be pushing for 2017 draft picks and try and keep 2018 out if it.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Gunston - Trade Gibson - Trade Hale - Trade Lake - Trade McEvoy - Trade Mitchell - Trade Omeara - Trade Not sure any of these trades where guys looking for a 2nd chance. Maybe Lake and you could say Hale but not sure guys traded for a first round pick is looking for a 2nd chance.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
@Luther A bit like your opinion on Weiderman. Lets not go off to early on a underdeveloped 19 yo KPF.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
So your happy to trade 2 first round picks for Lever??
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
If you think that you have NFI. Weed would get first round pick if we wanted to trade him. Take that to the bank.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
but he then isn't listed in the top one-on-one contests, go figure.

In Jason Taylor we trust!
Jake Niall on RSN radio this week said Oliver could be the best player melb has ever drafted and its hard not to agree with him. Its not a hall of fame list he has to beat.

Josh Kelly
Some times you just gotta be lucky. Carlton would have taken Salem over Cripps if we didn't select Salem.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Had the same thought over the weekend. Currently Bris - 21 & 22 - Gold Coast - 24 & 26 Nth - 32 & 33 GWS - 31 & 37 So a few options for us. Id be aiming for one of GCS picks with them more than likely to have 3 picks before the pick 24 so could afford to shift one to 2017.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
One thing that I haven’t seen mentioned on Demonland is the AFL has said that Melksham's salary doesn’t go under Melbourne’s salary cap this year. Therefore meaning Melb could potentially have an extra 400-500K free cap space to roll over into next year’s cap which potentially could be used to lure an out of contract player with a front ended contracted to the tune of let’s say 400-500K???

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM WEIDEMAN
I spoke to a club recruiter on the weekend and he had Weideman at #2. said he could be anything. Can play FF/CHF or he thought he would make a great CHB. Absolute highest quality kid.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Agree with all this but a couple of stats that show Gawn up to have the ability to have much greater impact on games than NicNat going forward when you compare the two are contested poss and clearances which you would think Nicnat would have a big advantage over Gawn. Cont Poss 9.1 Nicnat 9.0 Gawn Clearances 4.1 Nicnat 3.0 Gawn. With Gawn ability around the ground and his desire to get his hands dirty he has the scope to become a very good ruckman and be more complete than Nicnat.
