  1. A couple of Bigfooty profiles Snoop Dog Max King – NSW / 200cm / 89kg / ‘95 Seen a fair bit of young Max and he looms as a player who might go a bit earlier than many think given the dearth of key position players in the pool. He is a big tall kid whose development you can literally see from game to game. Last year I would have been 50:50 on his prospects but this year he really showed that he can play that fwd/ruck role. His marking improved and he was able to hit the scoreboard. His hands are good at the ruck contest and has a decent boot on him. Max will take time though and he reminds me a bit of Jack Fitzpatrick at the same age. Chance for someone like Essendon. Chris25 52. Port Adelaide - Max King (200cm, 89kg forward - NSW/Murray) Easily my favourite of the New South Welshmen, and one of my favourite talls in the whole draft really. I've been talking him up for some time, heading back to before the U18 Championships this year. He'll take a bit of time as he needs some time in the gym, but I think he could be a very good player at the next level. He is a member of the GWS Academy, one article states he can be prelisted and potentially on-traded prior to the draft - whatever happens, I'd be surprised to see GWS letting him go straight into the draft. King missed a few weeks at the start of the season with injury, but performed strongly for the Bushrangers in the TAC Cup upon his return. He also had a very impressive U18 Championships for NSW, and I'm sure he opened quite a few eyes playing at full forward and rotating through as the #2 ruck - in his 5 games, King kicked 11 goals. He is a strong mark, and really takes the ball at its highest point. And despite being reasonably skinny, he uses his body well and doesn't get pushed around - which helps the crumbers at his feet, as well as the midfielders when he rucks. For such a tall guy, he is a surprisingly good kick and is still willing to get down and dirty when the ball hits the ground. I'm not sure why more people aren't on board to be honest. Athletic 200cm forward/rucks don't grow on trees, and King has a lot of potential. I could see him going as high as the second round.
  2. Slightly off topic but related. Daniel Breese's brother Ryan is currently making a name for himself in the Melbourne Boxing circuit where Daniel can be seen in his corner during fight.
  3. I have an old training jumper from the early 90's which is exactly the same as this except for the blue side panels. It looks great and I always thought it would be an ideal clash jumper.
  4. Not sure that is correct. My understanding is mags in best mates with Nat Jones back from their U18 days together.
  5. 13 years senior footy in the DVFL/NFL. Still love getting down to watch the team most weeks and have a beer with the mates I have made over the years.
  6. Can you not now have a list of 40 depending on how many rookies you have?? Did we have 40 last season?

  8. http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/knightmare-2011-mock-draft.886979/ #4 GWS - Matthew Buntine (VIC – Def/Mid) Height: 189cm, Weight: 84kg, DOB: 19/10/1993 Recruited from: Dandenong Stingrays Style: Bryce Gibbs Player comparison: Range: 4-10 Profile: Real standout in this year’s draft who had a surprisingly poor u18 championships but was struggling with injury at the time, so that is forgivable. None the less is an absolute standout talent in this year’s draft. Can play down back or through the midfield well and has that really high skill level and ability to read the play. Reads the ball very well. Very good user of the footy. Can play against players of all sizes and can shut down opposition dangermen. Can play off his man and provide super rebound. Has no problem winning the hard ball. Not a high level athlete but his smarts more than compensate for this. Has that flexibility to play the role you need him to play. Why: Gives GWS some added rebound from defence.
  9. What did Roos say about the size of the Freo midfeild at GF time. Mundy Barlow crowley etc Buntine fits this criteria.
  10. You could say the same about Bruce. If Bruce hadn’t been so stubborn he could have stayed and thanked the club that pulled him out of the ammos and gave him his start. Most likely in place of an ageing senior player???? Name a player let go by melb that played good consistent football at another club. Melb correctly made room for the youth that was on the list. The fact that the youth didn’t measure up is a different argument. One of the things Melb has done well is ask the older players to go instead of letting them hang on for one more year when they were clearly finished. They may have been quality people but that doesn’t help them get a kick or stop there body from breaking down. Not much different to Geelong letting go JPod, Chappy Hunt etc to be able to play Smelts, Horlin-Smith, kersten etc The great hole at melb recently has been great senior players who could lead on and off the field. We had some aging players that may have been quality people but where no longer/or never where great players and leaders or left any lasting culture at the club.
  11. The bold section ( Jnr excepted) was the problem. Stack Green, Bruce and Yze up against strong leaders like Selwood Hodge. Not even in the ball park. As for Green coaching the midfield of Carlton, I think you'll find he is/was nothing more than the development coach. Sim to Satterly at Melb.
  12. This guys sounds like exactly want we need and could be a great pick for our Sylvia compo if its a 2nd round pick or maybe even 3rd rd if still available. http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/young-talent-time-2013-a-phantom-draft.1036534/ Round 2 19. GWS - Jarman Impey (176cm, 78kg forward - Murray) No doubt people know by now that I like my flashy small forwards/midfielders, and I tend to rate them a little higher than others. But, I don't think I'm overrating Jarman Impey at all. It's the opposite, I think he is being underrated by everyone else and will likely go somewhere around the 20-25 mark. That clever forward/fast midfielder role is becoming increasingly important, you just have to look at the impact of players like Walters and Motlop this year. And I think Jarman compares well to Steven Motlop from Geelong. He has the skills, the speed and the general agility. But he also quite a solid body, he isn't a lightly framed kid who'll take years to develop physically - he has shown this year the ability to win his own ball in the clearances, while losing none of his x-factor around goals. Might take him a little while to get his endurance up to where it needs to be, but that's about the only thing holding him back at the moment. http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/knightmares-2013-phantom-draft.983436/ #23 Gold Coast – Jarman Impey (VIC – Fwd) Height: 176cm, Weight: 78kg, DOB: 09/07/1995 Recruited from: Murray Bushranges Style: Matthew Stokes (quicker) Player comparison: Range: 20-50 Profile: Damaging forward with some weapons at his disposal. Impey has some unique athletic gifts with some real pace and agility on him. In traffic Impey really stands out because he has more time and space than anyone else and can really step through traffic easily and then breakaway. Impey when given time and space also has some real ability to break the lines. He’s also go the typical crumbing skills and the smarts to know where the ball is going, rove at the bottom of the contest and position himself in the right spots every time. What most stands out with Impey is what he does with ball in hand. Impy is also an excellent user of the footy with his footskills particularly damaging. He has the ability to hit the scoreboard and can do so easily when within range. For a small he also has some excellent strength with his ability to mark overhead excellent for a small. As with so many forwards he can go cold as the team goes cold but when he is finding the ball he’ll do damage and make those touches meaningful ones. http://www.scpaige.com.au/draftees-in-focus-jarman-impey/
  13. While McDonald is promising whats his kicking and decision making like. H's more likely to turn it over than to hit a target. Ohalpin kicked 4 on him on this year which isnt anything to be proud of
  14. http://www.scpaige.com.au/draftees-in-focus-josh-kelly/ Not much that doesn't sound good
  15. Rockliff manager was on SEN this morning. He asked not to be asked about Rockliff?? Andy Maher did ask and he gave the line that hes vice capt and contracted and wouldnt think he would be going anywhere. Question is why would he request not to be asked about him?? The conspiracy theorist in me would think there something going on and he didnt want to make a comment to not lie or giving the wrong information out???????
  16. Melbourne underachiever Colin Sylvia set to sign with Fremantle Found this interesting?
  17. If the Clarkson to WCE rumor turns out true you'd think Simpson would be fav to coach Haw.
