cheers for the reports any word on how williams went in the match simulation? did anyone see who josh tynan was manning up on in the match drill? might be an indicator of potential roles (obviously a fair way down the track)
-
be a massive indicator of how the team is going if morton makes best 18...for better or worse

happy with captains disapointed for beamer- did he do his boxing camp this year? surprised at bartram in leadership group- if he can get his disposals up he could be very good for us, plenty of ticker -

williams looks massive and ready to go...can't believe how much competition there is for big men in our forward line. what a difference 12months makes. -
doing DT and supercoach...why not one more. looks alot more in depth though with the draft set up

demonics locked in...can't wait this is gonna be a tough season

demonics locked in...cheers, looking forward to it. Rich, Carl, Hawks same bye week is almost as bad as Coll, Geel and Dockers...already hit save team and then changed it about 30times without even seeing a team sheet yet lol. looking forward to the sleepless nights. COME ON ROUND 1!!

voted to activate both... we will be forced to used a first round pick to take JV so with our first round compo pick we could just pick whichever kid we would have got if JV wasn't around thereby making JV effectively a free pick up. the mid first round compo pick would be good to use in the 2012 draft also because from all accounts there is a potential "super draft" in the offing. it could be pretty handy trade bait for a team that has been at the top for a while i.e geel, coll or hawks who have not been able to secure many sub teen votes in recent history and if the draft is going to be as strong as touted then top clubs could be asking us what we want for the pick rather than the other way around. personally though i believe we would be better suited drafting the best small forward, outside speedster mid, ruckman, rebounding defender available (in that order) if no adequate trade is offered. with 3first round draft picks in a strong draft MFC has the potential to add some ready to polish gems without having to pay a significant penalty for using a father son pick

couldn't agree more mate...every team that had a pick from about 15+ should be ashamed of themselves. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_AFL_Draft there are maybe a handful of players picked in the teens/20's that you would take above him, and i am still incredulous that the whole debarcle was sanctioned by the governing body. baffles the mind that a player can choose where he gets drafted to and for what money

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/colin-sylvia-suffers-quad-scare-at-training/story-e6frf9jf-1226253939032 This is from Jan 25th, does anyone know the results of the scans or if he was seen at training on the 27th?

my god...what team do you support? go back to punt road
-
probably rhett from foxtel helped out
-
garland in the midfield, bate in the midfield, grimes in the midfield, howe in the midfield, watts in the midfield, petterd in the midfield, tapscott in the midfield, frawley in the midfield...fair enough our midfield is struggling but moloney and jones are about the only two that would be able to gamble in vegas. give the kids we've got a chance to show what they've got with what is for many of them their first full pre-season before taking players out of position (bate being the exception)
-
agree with carlton and eagles but not so sure about the pies...jolly is good but there isn't alot of support if he goes down, and considering his injury worries last year it could happen again.
-
right you are, at this point i would like to withdraw my accusation and replace it with an agreement that if sellar can take the FF then frawley would make a brilliant rebounding defender and furthermore i hope to see this unfold. frawley has the pace and the ability to play this role brilliantly the only thing missing from the equation is sellar being good enough. fingers crossed he is

What about the 13 forwards we already have?(not even counting the rookies)
-
i'd say of this list bate and dunn are most likely to look elsewhere and no offence to either of them but they are two of the first names mentioned for trade or delistings at this stage (on this site so must be true) the vibe you get from the russian (through the tv screen) does seem to indicate that he wants to stay with mfc and have success here and hes had one without the other so far and all he's asked for is to be in the leadership group. would have to be a scully like offer imo to shift him at this stage
-
he was only moved forward because there were so few other options...good time grimes stated 10players for 6spots and that was without jetta, fitzpatrick or sylvia...if all of the above fail then why not throw him forward the season would already be in the shitter
-
he did play alot of his juniour footy as a forward iirc but it would be a massive waste...we bought mitch clark for a reason, we got watts for a reason and we got tommy mc for a reason. why would u move an AA defender unless there was a massive reason?

what does it cost you to type out the words "appreciate the effort"? even if you disagree at least you have something to disagree with. the photos taken from past trainings seem to indicate that plenty of people rock up to training, up here 200 rocked up for the gold coast suns beach session, but only a handfull take the time to actually write up a report. THANK YOU TO THOSE THE WRITE REPORTS if your going to make negative comments make them about a specific view, don't make people not want to post otherwise you're ruining it for the rest of us -
Garry Lyon's six-month rescue mission over
rolly replied to Brayshaws' Helmet's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jimmy Stynes is president of the MFC. he is more of a trooper than almost anyone i have ever known or that i could think of for that matter but it is not an honorary title. if the coach was going to get sacked from any other club it would be the president that would do it. i honest to god hope that jimmy gets better and i wish him all the best BUT if he is going to be the president he has to do the presidential duties otherwise stand down. i love what he has done for the club, i love the support that he recieves and i hope that he can continue to lead the MFC on its glorious resurgence but it was his job to wield the axe, noone elses. Garry came in and did us all a favour in rebuilding the footy department but he always said he wouldn't be there for the new season so i don't really see where the bitterness comes from -
