GOODBYE MITCH CLARK
Return to Glory replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
If he's going to go let's demand Jordan Murdoch. I have seen a few of the possibilities thrown up and, for mine, they're fools gold. At the top of that list would be Billy Smedts. No thanks. -
Has a Shannon Byrnes ring to it. He did well.

Hope he does well but there is an element of Shannon Byrnes about it. He did well. -

Except for 'then recovered a bit of ground towards the end' it's a concise summary of the season. -

Ben Johnson. -
Beyond all of the pressure, the kicking of the Hawks was brilliant all day, particularly when entering the forward line.

Melbourne asks for draft assistance

Mark 'suntanned as all [censored]' Evans makes me sick to the stomach. His initial comments re the pp were a clear message to the commission as to what he wanted. As for Gil, I'm convinced he is nothing but an impersonator of AD. His Brownlow call was a carbon copy, from the voice to the speeding up of the call. He will prove a horrible, horrible choice IMO. -
GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY

This includes his mother going up there as a talent scout in the spirit of phat Phil. -
Then I take it all back. I'm still very wary of paying over the odds.
-
He's 26 or 27 is he not? I'm not totally convinced that he'd be the ideal fit in comparison to a couple of up and comers.
-
He clearly hasn't hurt though, even if its just as someone with the capacity to galvanize.

Most supporters who have watched us on a regular basis are under no illusions as to the strengths and weaknesses of our list. There appears to be no quick fix but it's surely time we produced our own champion. It would mean a great deal to many. Footy is clearly about being successful but it's also about going along to see an out and out star win, lose or draw week in and week out. And so, perhaps against logic, I hope that the luck that has deserted this club returns if just for a couple of draft periods.

He's done well in part because his club has focused on things that, on the surface, don't appear to be critical. I.e the state of the Change rooms. From memory, it's an All Black philosophy of ensuring that everything is in order and, for the life of me, I cannot remember the phrase used. Bugger. Shite post really.

He's traded to the club of our choice or he sits on the sidelines. -

Highest bidder. -
If we were to trade Petracca, a 92 kg running midfielder who can take a grab forward, we truly are insane. At some point in time you have to take a punt that a bloke will be a champ. What's the point otherwise? It's akin to saying that we are aiming at being mediocre.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Return to Glory replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Absolutely, means we can't fall further. -
I would have thought it is you Machsy, in your relentless pursuit to be right, who is clambering for the high moral ground. I simply stated that I was one who wished we drafted him earlier on and that I hoped he could turn things around. Your holier than thou post is slightly less so when your previous post talks of bumping the 'embarrassing' thoughts of others. But of course, you'll 'save' us. What a sport. I'll give you this. You are relentless.

Sue, stupid no but both believe in their infallibility. I think Little may get rolled in the coming months and Bomber finds himself coaching them next year (which is probably the players preferred option).
