I'm not across the AFLW trade landscape as much as the mens but losing Zanker, Johnson and pick 35 for picks 9, 27, future 2nd and 81 sounds like massive unders. I would have thought Zanker alone would have been worthy of 2 first rounders.

FREMANTLE has secured a blockbuster trade for Melbourne spearhead Eden Zanker. The two clubs agreed a deal on Sunday that will see the Dockers land Zanker, young defender Lily Johnson, pick No.35 and a future fourth-round selection, with the Demons securing picks No.9, 27, 81 and a future second-round pick.

Maybe we need to toughen our players up by making them train barefoot with Lego's all over the ground.

We have a decent number of players between 18 and 23 but a bit skinny on the 24-28 bracket. Given we are likely to lose Melksham (34), Campbell (34), May (33), T-mac (33) at the end of next year, our age demographic will start shifting significantly towards being youthful. I can see us taking a few more high end kids again given our draft hand and the impending tassie team. However we probably should target players in that 24-28 range for list balance and to supplement our list build in the coming years.

As long as the silver clash jumper abomination never returns I'm not that fussed for a one-off jumper. Although can't say any of these appeal greatly to me, #2 wins out.

Sounds like she's off to Freemantle, nothing official yet though.

We could pinch Conor Stone from GWS if we rate him. Wonder if there's some unwritten rule of not touching other clubs players they intend to re-list.

Based off this years final ladder positions we currently have picks; 5, 13 (GC), 48 (GWS) 2 names that I like at this early stage are Jack Pickett (key fwd) from the Falcons and Will Malady (3rd tall fwd) from the Power.

If he kicks on next year Prasad will shape up to be our 3rd small forward drafted in 2 years. Fingers crossed he will land in the 2nd round so our two firsts can remain untouched.

He'll be automatically listed as a rookie tomorrow. He's gonna be a 4+ year project and even then there's no guarantees he makes it. Has enough upside to see if he does. Perfect use of a rookie spot.

This kid wouldn't be a surprise or secret to any club. Good recruiters will be across literally 1000's of kids through the major talent pathways. Tom was captain of gippsland and made the vic country squad before injury. I saw him last year at la trobe put on some showreel stuff and looked a cut above most kids in their draft year. Even took a few centre bounces. I'm super excited he's on board.

Kids good. Be happy people. We have an excellent group of talented small forwards now.
