I'm sure I've read elsewhere that AMW will need to promoted to the cat-a list but can qualify for a 4th year as highlighted above. That link unfortunately doesn't clarify cat-b vs cat-a. Regardless we'll have two rookie spots. Either 2x cat-b or one of each.

It's good to see Jefferson training on day 1 and with a bit more size already. Easy to forget he spent a lot of time in the rehab group last pre-season. Looking forward to his development.

I'm a fan as well. Kid is as competitive as it gets and rarely loses a contest. Another player people have been sleeping on is Berry. That kids a star in waiting in my view.

Agree, he stands out whenever I see him play. Will be a beast when he gets midfield fitness under him. Another I quite like around this range is Berry, do you have any insights into him? Just looks a classy player with toughness and skill. More than just a small forward for mine.

Depending on how things fall I wouldn't outright dismiss this. Considering we did a similar move for Kozzie and we most likely would've given up a similar bounty for Gold Coasts pick 13, this may give us a chance to get back a good 2nd round pick in this draft. I wonder if we can get a better deal from another team along these lines. West Coast 12 and 26 or Richmond's 11 and 23? Langford (or best mid available) at 5 Berry/Reid/Travaglia/Allan/Lindsay at 13 If we're lucky one of Jack/Matt Whitlock, Jaunty Faull, Noah Mraz or Tom Sims may be available here at 29. Alternatively Smith (or best available mid) at 5, Shanahan at 13 and Boxshall or Ough at 29. Good mix of 2 mids and a quality tall in these scenarios. Would have to be confident a player we like gets through past Port, Richmond x2 and West Coast.

Hoping we'll hear more solid rumours next week. Wonder if there is a surprise in store similar to Windsor last year? Could Reid get selected earlier than currently expected? Still hoping Lalor somehow slides through but that looks like the least likely outcome. Can see different scenarios where any one of Langford, Smith, Draper and O'Sullivan get through to our pick.

I'd take anything he says in public with a grain of salt. If we only ended up with one midfielder, say at pick 5, then he can say he was truthful that a midfielder was our target. Still, I'm suspecting we will go with two mid sized players with our first two picks and perhaps balance with a tall at our last pick. Unless we play funny buggers and split one of our early selections.

He'll be able to play round 1, as a forward. He hasn't got the fitness and capacity to run through the midfield at AFL level next year as a 19yr old. Not many kids do. In time, he will be able to play through the midfield as his game and fitness develops. Kids aren't the finished product at 19. It's not that hard.

Maybe not the perfect comparison but I think he has Heeny like qualities and potential. Strong overhead, excellent athleticism and high impact per possessions. Will start as a half forward but can go through the midfield in time.

Sounds like we may need a Finn O'Sullivan thread going if we don't have one already
