AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Perhaps the thought of us trading with Adelaide may spook essendon into taking Sharp first. We probably need to throw something back towards Adelaide and as it stand we don't have a future 2nd. 2027 2nd maybe? Probably unlikely. I've read rumours that Sharp, Farrow and Schuburt have been linked to Adelaide. Very curious to see Cals phantom tomorrow because I have no idea what's happening. Edit: legible english

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
WC: Duursma WC: CDT Rich: Robey Rich: Taylor Ess: Cumming Ess: Farrow Melb: Nairn Melb: ??? Ess: Sharp How it might play out if the latest rumours of Essendon obtaining pick 9 from the blues happens, allowing them to pre-emptively take Farrow knowing we won't take Sharp. Who do we select outside of Nairn? One of Grlj, Lindsay, Dovaston, Marsh, O Taylor, Schubert? Or maybe we've kept our interest in Sharp under wraps and take him?

2026 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Should be a good draft for small forwards next year with Prasad, Neocleous and Templeton all looking like great prospects. Jack Pickett had a great year as a bottom aged Key Forward.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I think people will get hyped if there appears to be a realistic chance he makes it to us.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Can you make a rumour about Robey getting to us instead?

AFL Draft 2025: Pick 30 (formerly 37)
+1 for Sam Allen. Huge upside if he recovers well from his ACL. Another I wouldn't be surprised to see drafted at some point is small forward Tom Matthews from gippy. Another recovering from a knee injury (pcl i think) but looked impressive as a bottom ager in the couple games I saw.

Cameron Nairn
Fair comments, but there are also plenty of examples of excellent AFL players that aren't quick, strong or tall. Shall be an interesting draft night.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
My last post on this topic. Cal Twomey has linked us with him in his latest draft rankings and Mark McGowen has us selecting him at pick 11.

Cameron Nairn
My understanding is that he's one of the top endurance runners in the pool and he's probably one of the best marks for a medium sized player. Has flexibility to play forward and through the midfield. Might not be extra flashy but I think he'll be a solid pick.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 14th November 2025
Thanks @Demonland . Big year for him so hopefully all is well and he can have a great pre-season to put his best foot forward.

Yep, clearly a troll now.

That was a phantom done literally on the day of the draft. His rankings one week earlier had Kozzie at pick 19 if that does anything for you, though I'd hardly put any stock into Knightmares opinions. ESPN.comUpdated phantom draft: The first three roundsWith less than two weeks until the 2019 AFL Draft, ESPN expert Chris Doerre has analysed all the possibilities to expand his phantom draft into the first three rounds.Let's just see where Nairn is placed when all the various reporters release their final phantoms between Monday and Wednesday next week. To reinforce a point that you either refuse to acknowledge or comprehend. Cal Twomey, widely known as the most providing the most accurate predictions of how the first round will play out, has NOT done his phantom draft yet. He has also spoken on his show that various clubs, including us, hawthorn and Giants, are eyeing him off in that 10-15 draft range. Feel free to disagree with him.

In case your not just trolling, feel free to look at cals form guide that had Kozzie at pick 30. Cal Twomey's 2019 Phantom Form Guide: November update - https://www.afl.com.au/news/149391

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
These three picks are quickly becoming my preferred outcome assuming Robey and Taylor aren't available.

AFL Draft 2025: Phantom Drafts
I'm guessing it's not ideally set up for mobile. All I can do is potential trades in a fairly difficult to navigate way.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Cal will release his actual phantom on Monday. His previous releases have been his own personal rankings. He watches a lot of junior footy and has decent insights but he's not a recruiter and there's always a decent variation between his rankings and his phantoms.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I'm not sure we will have an realistic play on Gold Coasts or Brisbane's picks with only pick 37 to offer from a points perspective. Adelaide might be an option but that's a decent slide and we may miss out on both Nairn and Pickett. Perhaps there will be some elaborate multi-club trades that land us two mid to late first round picks but it's hard to imagine at this stage.
-
AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Will probably be clearer what options are practice come cals phantom draft on Monday but as it stands multiple clubs between 10-15 are considering Nairn as per gettable. Eagles don't have a pick in the 20s currently and I actually wouldn't be surprised if Farrow is high up on our board as well. I think if we want to make a play for Pickett it's going to be via offering up Gold Coasts future first to a team that doesn't mind trading out of this year's draft for next. Maybe a team like the Dogs (Pick 14) Geelong (19) or Freo (20). Just my opinion at this stage. Or we just take him with pick 8. The other watch is what Carlton do with picks 9 and 11 and where a bid for Dean comes in. Perhaps we can get involved there somehow.

2026 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Power granted NGA access to 2026's potential No.1 pick - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1452438 Port have been given NGA access to Dougie Cochrane who is in the early conversation to be the #1 pick along with Cody Walker. Given the new rules Port, who may finish low anyway, will only be able to use two first round picks to match a bid.

Given how poor we could be next year, this song seems appropriate.

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
I would be pretty happy with this. Wouldn't be surprised if we offered Gold Coast future 1st + 37 if Pickett is still available later on.
