  1. I dont think he is worth pick 13
  2. he's a good fisherman...
  3. I listened to it and I thought it was non commital on everything. Anyone who thinks we will let Viney go to the Gold Coast (assuming they are mad enough to use their pick 2 on another player who like Caddy and Toy will want out as soon as possible which is ofcourse very unlikely) is wrong Im afraid. I dont care what i hear officially on this topic because I know for a fact that we will use pick 3 if we have to. mark my words But that being said I didnt take from this interview that we werent going to use pick 3 on him, rather we had not made an assessment of that yet and it depended on what was available for our live pick 2 (pick 3 if GC nominate Viney). Caddy is not worth pick 13 for mine. Ive gone and had a look at his stats and some footage I found and I think Viney looks better already to be honest. Use pick 13 and a trade for Wellingham.
  4. Their whole family live out North east and are diehard Melbourne supporters.
  5. I listened to that and I didnt take that from his comments. To me it was more that they would have to work out whether he is worth a pick 3 at that time or whether they could use a live pick 2 for a better choice (than a tough midfielder with uncomprimising loyalty to a club on the bottom of the ladder). Think about it this way: 1. Viney is the only top rounder that has any loyalty to our club 2. Viney is the best and most developed midfielder out of the top rounders 3. the Suns have about three or four players trying to weasle their way home last year and this year. Would they risk their second pick on a bloke who through all intents and purposes is likely to do the same? Its all a bluff - wait and see!
  6. Gonna say - I walked away after listening to the same interview without the perception that we wont be taking Viney if push comes to shove. Are people kidding themselves into believing that the Suns who have had to combat player exodus every year would go an pick another player who most say isnt even rated at top 2 and who is definately unlikely to want to stay. Why would they take that gamble to lose pick 2 for a player that isnt worth it according to the posts above??? Makes zero sense. Say or think what you will. I know what will happen anyway.
  7. Damian Barrett was the one who claimed Cale wants out.
  8. pparently every one is a pie today... We really cant let Wellingham got to west coast for pick 19 - push hard on that one i reckon...
  9. All over the net and facebook - Tippett to the Pies and Dawes to the Demons... Not saying its reputable in anyway but there you have it.
  10. I have heard from TWO club sources, one who is involved in recruiting and who said he could bet his house on it - We will take Viney at pick 3 if we have to - Even Cam Schwab has unofficially said so.
  11. No, just his heart...
  12. The older one is too - you wait and see And isnt there about 3 more brothers>?
  13. From facebook make it up pages: "West Coast forward Quinton Lynch will choose between lucrative offers from Melbourne and Collingwood today. Carlton is now out of the race" From: footballnation.com.au" Wellingham does like it in melbourne from what I hear. Dont believe we are out of that race just yet. When it hasnt even started officially...
  14. yeah totally agree. We havent had that much luck bringing in potentials and hoping they go ok - Caddy is another example of that for mine although he is a mid, But mids should be the focus for sure.
  15. Assuming there is a possibility that Rivers is out what is the deal with Richmond's Grimes? I ask because the brothers and whole family are MAD Melbourne tragics and I wonder whether a trade could be possible??
  16. Yes - I would like to rip them off
  17. Wait and see I guess mate. But all indications are that we should come out veyr much on top - but lets wait and see how our recruiting is this draft I reckon.
  18. Need a story on AFL? mmm... Lets do another Viney piece...
  19. Good points
  20. Im not saying that I necessarily am, im suggesting that it gives that impression...
  21. I guess my point is that the perception when you have club statements saying that, and with papers and rumour pages continually linking us to failed bids on various players, is that we are out there being aggressive and being snubbed. I am not saying this is the correct perception and prettymuch everything that Whispering Jack says makes sense. But there seems some confusion among supporters about what we are trying to do - primarily becuase the club isnt at liberty to tell us which is fine - but also because statements like leaving no stone unturned can mean very different things to different people.
  22. Totally agree with your sentiments but then why did the club continually suggest that 'no stone would be left unturned'? Why say that at all?
  23. lets face it - free agents in the twilight of their careers will want success or more game time. So we werent probably ever going to be well placed for them.
  24. I doubt that he did. But he may have.
  25. hardly definitive evidence there mate.... Dodgy info at the best of times. Let them bid. mark my words Viney will be a Demon
