  1. There is a rule but it is quite ambigious. Whispers are that it will people rather than the club that pays. Idea being the players and supporters don't deserve it. Even heard that we traded our picks because we knew it was coming and that the AFL may delay the decision until after the draft. Rumour abound. All questionable of course. But I agree with Eddie and Ian Collins. The AFL created the loop hole and punishing us now will just mean more handouts later but with more dejected supporters
  2. Indeed. I wonder what they told new recruits like Dawes about this. 'Dont worry, it will all blow over?'
  3. Excactly. There are so many ignored facts in what appears to be a pretty overt agenda.
  4. Brock going to carlton because of his perception that MFC were tanking is like a hitman leaving the mafia to join the yakuza because they are sick of the crime.
  5. I thought Caro was talking through her butt until the article appeared on the AFL website. Penalising MFC is basically ruining the club - i hope they realise that. Disgruntled supporters who are already probably more disgruntled than just about anyone else in the league would be guranteeing the oldest club a poor future given where we are at.
  6. Ive never been so [censored] off in all my life. they make the rules, they allow the insentive. They ignore Eddies comments on tv back in the late 90s. they ignore the fact that betting was suspended on the Kruezer cup because the betting agencies suspected tanking. they ignored how the pies got Pendles. They ignored when Wallet/Plough basically admitted to tanking at Richmond. And now suddenly we are the evilest football team in the land and will go down in flames because a few disgruntled halfwits give their opinion of what happened as fact? What a farse. If any other organisation was run like this heads would roll and im not talking about the club. My mate reckones we traded most of our draft picks because we knew we'd be banned from this years draft. Not sure how accurate that is.
  7. Rory Sloane is a victorian... there is hope...
  8. any of you blokes seen the youtube video of cale? The song??
  9. I picked the numbers (14) and even down to the players (with Sellar my only offie). Yes I am the man...
  10. Neeld has taken a year to assess the list that Bailey and Prendergast put together, and his assessment was made in the final days of the trade period and on saturday.
  11. The thing that gives me the $^& about the whole thing is that if Malthouse had made these calls (and they at laest in terms of delistings and trades) would have been the same or perhaps harsher there would be no criticism, but because Neeld is a relative unknown quantity he is often dogged by doubters. Neeld said he wanted to make this club the hardest to play - this about our talls now - Jamar, Spencer, Gawn, Pederson, Dawes, Sellar, Clark - if its a possession game or one on one marking we are going to improve in that regard. Main concerns speed and run. Word is they rate Rory Taggert and expect him to come on this season with Viney and Wines learning the trade under Sylvia, Trengove, Grimesy and Jonesy (Jordie tagging). And i talk about Wines like he is ours because i think he will be. Lets face it - according to a source of mine who has been right on two things so far (gysberts to north, viney) the view was that the players were 'practically coaching the club' before Neeld's arrival.
  12. Isnt 186 a knock shop in south melbourne? LOL Look there is no one we have gotten rid of that added some of the qualities we need in this side other than perhaps Brent.
  13. We are lacking a super star, more run in the midfield and a Yarran-style runner out of the back. I hear strong mail (from the bloke that told me would ahve taken viney at pick 3 and about the Gysberts trade to north before it was public domain) that the club think Rory Taggert will come on in 2013 and add depth to the mids with Viney and Wines (and yeah im talking like he is already ours). The aim is to make this the hardest club to play - we got enough talls to out-tall North now.
  14. Why thanks - wasnt too hard to choose though. Neeld and Craigie gave me a call first to make sure I was ok with it all...
  15. Rodan is a better player than many believe and despite this coming across as looking desperate he is a premiership player and he can still run. Considering we got him for nothing I think its a good call. i couldnt care less what Denham has to say about the dees - his opinions on us are always just bile and emotive vitriol rather than anything balanced or with perspective.
  16. My source I cannot name but lets just say he has regular contact with insiders at the club and he was 100% right on Viney and a few other things. I have no reason to doubt him lets put it that way. Around the traps ive heard (not from this source) that he wants out and was disgrunted by how Moloney was treated. read that on here and on bigfooty so not sure how accurate that is. Anyway I then heard it from an sms from a mate, then on the age website and then on facebook trade pages so must be something to it. I rate Pederson but we dont want to get too tall heavy do we?
  17. Would love to know as well. Waiting for more info.
  18. Word was a while back that he was disgruntled. Seems a pity though as he looked the goods early on.
  19. heard this on the wires, then on the Age and on facebook - and from the same source that told me we would take Viney at pick 3 if we had to: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/demon-gysberts-emerges-as-possible-solution-to-pederson-trade-20121025-287bm.html Gys to North for a pick and Pederson.
  20. Gysberts wants out according to me mail. has been offered to North for pederson and a pick
  21. he has belief - puts him ahead of many from the start for mine.
  22. ive heard there are attitude issues which could mean not getting along with Scott or other players or genuine problems. I hear neeld has avoided a number of players because of concerns re attitude and or discipline so that makes me wonder, But still as Ron Burgundy says - he looks too good for north to be so desperate to discard and for no other team seriously interested.
