  1. Our biggest trades will be with the Suns. They have some young talent from Victoria and we have some older players that might sure-up their side. A Bate or a Moloney type would suit them.
  2. I think it was a joke - incorrect spelling of Moloney and Beems as in his nickname?
  3. And left the club a shadow of what it was under Daniher in terms of culture and sports/training-based professionalism according to Micky Maltshake
  4. With the track record of Melbourne rejects in the last ten years Id suggest that many of our experienced players may not have much currency.
  5. I liked Schwabb's comments on Jurrah: 'after the year he has had he just needed to get away..' - make that the whole bloody club!
  6. Im not sure I agree with all of your analysis and Id expect and from what has been indicated in the press releases from Melbourne FC website that we will lost 10-12. And I doubt any of the players we delist or trade will 'do better at other sides' at least at this point in their careers. Not playing Morton seems odd in a way - we should have been fattening up the calf there... 1. Where do I think the improvement will come from in 2013: Clark, Grimes, Trengove, Watts, Frawley and Blease. Id like to see another McDonald/Blease type improvement ofcourse from a younger player. I think Gysberts with fitness and a bit of muscle could have a big impact in 2013. 2. Which players should we be building our side around: Clark, Grimes, Jones, Howe, McDonald, Frawley, Trengove, Blease and Jamar 3. Which players is it impossible to predict whether they will improve in 2013: Many... We have a list based on potential in many cases. Big Maxie Gawn has to be a cult figure. That is the kind of players young kids will love. But so far he seems unfortunately injury prone
  7. Whats going on - im agreeing with Jose!
  8. Bloke who I pump for info says to be confident. So im convinced he's staying.
  9. In his second year so cant expect too much, but my word he has potential and his older brother was described as a 'viking'. A hard nut that for too long our club has avoided.
  10. No offense to Bail but if it was up to me it would be a done deal in seconds. The guy tries his heart out but his disposal just has not improved
  11. Blease is as likely to leave as jack Grimes is... heard from his own words about four times and the bloke im pumping for info tells me to be confident.
  12. The question was out top 10 best players as at august 2012. So I went with current playing players mainly and not those that may be passed their best. 1. Clark 2. Grimes 3. Jones 4. Howe 5. Blease 6. Tom MacDonald 7. Rivers 8. Frawley 9. Jamar 10. Rivers
  13. I heard the interview all through while wrestling those maniacs on the Burwood and I can tell you there were some maniacs! I thought he said that people were saying that he was leaving for GWS because he was Scully's mate (as in people had approached him in public to say that) but that he was not Tom Scully and was his own person, liked the direction of where the club was heading under Neeldie and Craigie (as almost to suggest that perhaps he wasnt as impressed previously) and that he saw his future at the club. By the end of the interview I was 100% convinced he was staying. Unlike Sculldug...
  14. While I tend to agree, I think we would have kept Green before we kept Moloney. Green could still work as a second option up forward parked in the goal square or pocket, whereas slow midfielders are struggling more and more. I hope Moloney stays and turns it around but lets be honest - he wont play in a premiership at Melbourne.
  15. I think that is a harsh assessment although he does seem to spend more time barking orders than much else this season. A fact? Care to clarify your source? Ive heard similar actually although my source is pretty scetchy (well not according to him, but he was wrong on Scully). A new bloke at my work is in the same golf course as Jack Watts and a few other demons including some of the non-field staff. The running joke there is that they spend more time perfecting their golf game than their AFL, LOL. Harsh but easily said when we are going so badly. Anyway Ive been starting to pump this bloke for info and he is sussing a few things out HOPEFULLY...
  16. I think we are out of the running for Boak actually. He said that money isnt a factor but success is. North and Geelong have gone to see him personally, and his manager actually sort North's interest not the other way around.
  17. 1%?? Judd was ours and Scully was definately staying according to all my sources! Our trading since the days of Daniher has been softly softly and pretty crap really. One season under bailey I dont think we traded at all. When they say they are going hard Im hoping they mean it - i want another Mitch Clark-style pick up. Infact Id take a whole team of them!
  18. If Moloney goes then he will be snapped up quick smart by gold coast who have only said they want older midfielders.
  19. Shouted down because you predicted his form would slide so dramatically in one season after wining the best anf fairest? I doubt it. Or was it the post where you rated Cale Morton over Moloney?? Beamer has been a consistent performer for the club but those who think there will be a cull of any less than 10 players are dreaming. Ive heard a few commentators and people that SHOULD know what is planned have all tipped a 'clean out'. And I mean a CLEAN OUT!!! Personally I think the form and performances of some of the older players might represent the impact of the upped training regime which would probably be harder to handle for an older body. However this was the season where we did need our older players to rise out of the myre and no one has basically. I think we are more likely to see Sylvia at the club next year than Moloney. But I hope some faith should be shown for a player that never met the heights of Scotty Thompson but who supports the demons, genuinely cares for the club and who'se smashing season last year is quickly forgotten. But Neeld knows next year is crucial for the club and for his tenure. Expect wholesale changes and some hard decisions.
  20. Essendon are also very interested in Caddy. I believe the two clubs in the race are us and them.
  21. True. But what is the definition of quality you are using? Neeld likes players that play their role consistently.
  22. Considering that Wonnamerri (spelling?) quit, Jurrah has been injured and out of form all year, Clark is gone for the season and anyone else who could be a crumbing forward on our list either woefully out of form or injured I think Nev is a pretty safe player on our list. Nev has flown under the radar since injured but he did some quality stuff in the Bailey years.
  23. Unlike some I still believe in Sylvia but he is one of the few on our list with genuine trade currancy assuming he is not yet a free agent.
