Im starting to agree with this assessment. particularly if we cant pick up some talent in the draft and trade week.

Dunn in the backline just isnt going to work. he doesnt play accountable on man footy - he rarely even knows where his opponent is. Let be honest here. I can only really see Jonesy, Clark, Jamar, Howe and Sylvia as required players at this stage. Moloney bet to break it open today. Too many maybes, too many players that just seem to be list cloggers. Does anyone think Trengove would be in the side if he wasnt captain?

We are playing like water - they are just running through us like we arent even there. Once again no one has stood up thus far.

For all the talk of structures from Neeld I can see none today. Melb players seem to be behind the ball or found in the wrong place too often.

One good thing about the game: we can conclude that teh following players can have a rest: Bate Dunn Spencer (why?) Stef Martin Trengove (lets be honest he has done nothing this season and is either injured or lost) Wondering about: Bail Bring in and keep: Blease Morton (never thought I'd say that) Gysberts - if he's fit bring him in ASAP game plan wise - this forward with defneders worked well when we had a big forward, but it aint working now and with out Tom McDOnald our defense is missing Rivers.

great news. sorry i stand corrected. i saw something last week about him being injured. He will be a gun. He is a player that Ive been excited about. reminds me of how Scotty Thompson looked when he started.

As far as I am aware Gysberts is still injured or recovering from a bad injury or he'd be in. He will be a gun I think.

its funny - in other sides a down day allows players to stand up and get noticed and push for selection. But not in Melbourne, well other than Blease (who never should have been out in the first place!)

The umpiring hasnt been great today but Id make the following points on our side and how we've played today: We cant get a free! Our players cant seem to keep their feet, always seem to be behind the play laying tackles after the ball has moved on, cant seem to set up a sheppard ever, playing reactionary while Brisbane just stick to their man and beat us contested, then break away and get uncontested run. Moloney has done little and seems slow, Trengove and Frawley - lets be honest they'd be out of the team if they were anybody else as they are woefully out of form. Dunn, Bate are too slow - where is cale morton (poor decision maker but he can run!). Bail is just a Bartram and Stef worries me every time he gets near the ball., Ups to Joel Macdonald - he has tried even if he's skills arent up to it. \ Why was Blease subbed in? he is our only running player other than Nicholson, has actually pretty decent disposal (rare in the demons of 2010-2012) and he can kick a goal! the outs: * Pity Tom McDonald injured himself as he has been our in-form defender and reads the play well/matches up on an opponent well. * we miss Jamar - our other ruck options are shizen
