  1. I wonder whether we watched the same game mate. Because the only positive I saw last night was Jack Fitzpatrick kicking a few. Across the board were we smashed, they were toying with us. it was a dismal way to finish the season. Really we could just field Clark, Jamar, Blease, Tommy M, Howe and Jones next year and get a similar result. Grimes is improving but is a shadow of some of his previous form. its nice to think positively but to think positively at the moment is to try and make excuses for why we are on average 7-10 goals behind most of the teams in the league.
  2. For once I Think Tona has a valid point. Sometimse its not what is being said but who is saying it. Perhaps a coach with some premiership experience (as a player or as senior coach) might have been a better choice? Im a Neeld fan but I can tell you that there hasnt been much to hang your hat on this year. A terrible season by any standards and probably the worst I can remember.
  3. After yesterday there was a bit of support for the sack the lot mentality at a friend's place.
  4. You guys are funny!
  5. Jordie has had a few good seasons but his role really is the tagging tackler - he's strength isnt disposal and either we get better midfielders so we dont try to use him to move the ball or he improves. 3 Years is a surprise but Neeld must like him.
  6. At West Coast when recruiting they have one rule - give me players that can kick and find a target. What good is having a player who can run if he cant kick and has poor decision making under pressure.
  7. His been ok from the look.
  8. Whats the definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? or watching the demons this season and expecting a win?
  9. that seems the problem - not even a whimper. All season other than one game against the saints, one game against Essendon and a few easy beats.
  10. We will know monday Id reckon. But the HUN is talking like he is gone. Just like Cloke was ours... LOL
  11. Toumpas and Grundy look good but unlike the other players in the top rounds Viney has already played against players of AFL standard and he has played solidly at that level. At Casey he looks better than Scully does now. If we lost Viney (which I know wont happen) for some potential first rounder who fails we will be the laughing stock of the AFL. Gold Coast wont bid for Viney and Bluey recently said that more draft picks wont help his club - he wants seasoned and experienced players. GWS is the only problem with their pick 1 but if hypothetically some sort of deal could be made (although officially no go - but in a way GWS nominating Viney is a type of draft tampering) we could walk out with Toumpas at pick 3, Grundy or O'Rourke as our first compo at pick 4 and then trade our other compo with Stef Martin to GC for Caddy and use our second round to pick up Viney. best case scenario, but I would shed zero tears if we have to use pick 3 on Viney because he is ahead of most in the draft. Notice how MFC have been barely mentioning Viney's stats at Casey? Trying to keep it quiet trust me.
  12. These threads tend to annoy me because people keep getting the basics wrong. We cant use PICK 4 on a father son because its a compo pick for Scully. Ive probably posted that about nine times now. So its either pick 3 or its second round for Viney. We WILL take Viney at pick 3 if we have to! I know this for a fact. We WILL take VIney because he is a manchild that is ready to play now, because we have invested time in him and because - unlike all the other top players in the draft - he is emotionally and genetically invested in the club already. This is a young bloke who has never played an AFL game but who loves the club and is carving it up in the VFL with more disposals than most of the AFL players current languishing them. He is ready to play like Daniel Rich was. But we DONT WANT to use pick 3 on Viney unless we have to so we are trying to bluff. We are also very interested in Toumpas. Toumpas
  13. he may still stay. Stranger things have happened.
  14. Agree but Tynan has a lot of pluses.
  15. 'I promise I wont let them cancel any more training sessions if you rehire me?'
  16. problem is - wathcing freo the other week - they will struggle NOT to smash us.
  17. I read it and thought the same - funnily enough no one cares when its to manipulate position results for the finals. Happens a lot.
  18. There was an interesting comment on the MFC facebook page about how 'if anyone of you had been treated the same was as Moloney has by their employer they would be angry too' - I wonder where that comes from?
  19. I think your right mate. There is something going on down there and I think only next year will we know.
  20. People who are loosely connected with the club have said to expect BIG changes. More than 6 I would assume.
  21. My feeling is in some ways this season Neeld has been malthouse by proxy - same style, similar ideas and Im sure Neeld has sounded out his opinion based on comments that Mick has made. I think Malthouse would have made similar calls and has infact defended all of Neeld's calls this season thus far. We only worry more because Neeld is untried. Next year will be his chance.
  22. Cale is gawn. That is probably the clearest statement made by Neeld via selections thus far.
  23. DOnt hate on Moloney or anyone else too much - he may turn on us and say 'Tanking'
