  1. How good is Sydney's without Buddy, how good are the Cats without Hawkins, how bad is our midfield without Jones it's irrelevant Pav is still in their forward line and I think you may need to review Freo in 2013 and see how many games Pavlich played, their forward line functioned well enough then. You said they were not building a forward line, sorry but they are and it will consist of Taberner, Apeness & a big gun they have in their sights with a shite load of salary cap room they have coming up, My mail is Walker is well within their sites. In regards to Taberner & Apeness I have seen them play at WAFL level and they are going to be good players not to mention having Ballantyne and Walters as crumbers . Your post was an assumption and not based on any fact. Freo drafted them for that purpose as a future plan and they are developing them appropriatley and as I said above they will not be the number 1 forward in 2016/17
  2. "Dom that is the level you need to get to and maintain week in week out to play at this level, go out and see if you're up to it" Nothing to do with confidence more as you say a tough lesson and a challenge. To Dom best of luck in your life away from MFC and thanks for making the decision now as opposed to mid pre season when the list is finalised
  3. In regard to the Dogs we wore our traditional jumper against their traditional jumper in our game at Etihad last year and in the earlier game in the year we wore our Womens Breast Cancer round jumper. Against Meth Coast in round 2 we wore our traditional jumper whilst they wore their royal blue alternative. The AFL make rules on the run re this clash strip as shown in the Elimination Final Richmond vs Port debacle
  4. Also in the ridiculous hyprocisy of all this the Hawks wear their alternative guernsey against Richmond This sees the Hawks going from a jumper with a yellow (light colour) back and brown number against a predominantly black (dark colour) guernsey to a Brown (dark colour) guernsey with a yellow number against the Tigers black (dark) Meth Coast wore light blue against us at the G last season but we have to wear white against them at Subi, I understand their home guernsey is predominantly navy blue but don't see any issue with a red alternative against them
  5. Premiership:Sydney Brownlow: Boak Coleman:Buddy Bluey:Tyson Rising Star:Jack Martin
  6. Maybe they couldn't find anymore highlights and the game was one out of the box, that must also be considered
  7. Not bad, and there goes another $90 when the young bloke sees it
  8. No SONS I don't want us conceeding that many and I don't think Roos will like it either. Also Dawes is suspended
  9. I would like you to explain how you know this, "Freo are buidling no forward line" Review their recruiting of recent years and tell me how many times you saw Peel play last season
  10. Hogan had problems with his back from junior days in Perth. I'm not in any way an expert in the physio world but was told it was due to growth spurts. I'm sure Weber and other Demonlanders in the physio field may be able to provide some better analysis on this but it is common knowledge he had some issues
  11. I still want the AFL to please explain why, if Gold Coast can wear red against us then why can't we wear red against sides who our dark blue clashes with
  12. Only 1 more for Ben Cousins
  13. A reversal of our home strip or we go with the lighter blue we wore during the 70's and 80's with white shirts as our alternative strip
  14. The Bombers haven't escaped Denham's wrath either old dee, he was scathing last week of them having Neil Craig and Mark Neeld in their footy department considering he said they were part of the Melbourne footy department which oversaw possibly the clubs worst seasons in their recent history
  15. FMD I nearly crashed the car this morning on the way into work, Denham was even praising us on SEN with KB, thought I was hearing things
  16. The same system which currently is undertaken in WA these kids will be zoned to VFL clubs who will receive injections of cash for players drafted, which goes back into their development programmes. They will start in the colts and move through the club system, where you will find if they are not being drafted till 20 the good kids will be playing 2 years as seniors and be AFL ready when drafted
  17. It will be in the interests of the WAFL, SANFL & VFL clubs to raise the standards of their development programmes because the money they get for drafted players will be their lifeblood and it wont decrease the standard, they will be playing against better bigger players and not looking like quality forwards who have only been exposed to 1 on 1
  18. I think we're talking a chicken and egg scenario here, lifting the draft age sees no further need for TAC Cup and would see more money going into Grass roots footy namely VFL, SANFL,WAFL This in turn would see these clubs putting more development into their zone and IMO holding these players over till they were 20years of age would not affect their development on the flipside you would see greater development towards natural footballers and the project athletes or players who some say never realise their potential would be found out before drafting, the likes of Cook, Watts, Oakley-Nicholls, Liam Jones, Lucas, Thorp, Mckernan, Strauss, Blease and numerous others would have been found out at this age after a couple of years being exposed to senior players and IMO the success rate of drafting would improve. As you say there are a few exceptions to the rule of Ballantynes, Priddis etc but the same can be said of the Wines, Judds & Selwoods who make an impact from day 1
  19. Pretty sure Daniel Rich went Pick 7 and Hawks magical draft of getting Buddy, Roughie and Lewis saw Lewis around the 7 or 8 mark, whilst not being a gun now Rhys Palmer went Pick 7 and won the rising star in his first season
  20. You're kidding right Barlow, Priddis, Ballantyne, Mzungai amongst others didn't take any time adjusting to the system the only difference is the increased training load and improved fitness at the full time professional level
  21. This is actually incorrect and this is fact Fyfe played as a forward with Claremont colts and showed a bit and at the time Mark Harvey seen changes in footy and was heading down the track of having a big bodied midfield. He had moved Mundy into the midfield targeted Barlow because of his size, looked at giving Mayne and DeBoer more midfield time and really set their goal at getting a strong midfield who would stand up in finals footy. When the recruiters came to him advising they were looking at Fyfe his main question was can we build a tank with him and can he play in our midfield. That is the only question he wanted answered because he knew he was a competitive beast and had the ability to win contests. So Fyfe was drafted purely and solely with an eye to being a midfielder, had they not believed he could have built a tank they would have passed him over for someone else
  22. You can only nab them if they are there, maybe they have analysed the draft and decided outside of the Top 20 they don't see a Parker or Kent. Maybe they are happy with pick 2, 3, Frost and Billy Stretch. They may figure given the even spread of players after the first two rounds there will be a few to pick from as rookies who they think have as much chance of breaking through as those outside the first twenty to thirty
