  1. Just MO on seeing him this year in Nationals and on TAC videos, Wright has all the tools but my reservation is he dis not show the absolute mongrel and desire to hurt opponents, which is why I have him behind Mccartin. I also am not sold on his leadership which has him behind Lever along with the fact we desperatley need mids I'm not saying we don't also need forwards just think we need mids, mids and more mids at the top end. Wright may well prove me wrong and come into the AFL and be an absolute beast in the forward line driving opposition players into the dirt, just the way I view things
  2. I agree with you chook almost 100% Jones has another 6 to 7 years left and IMO Jones has the opportunity to at least join both Jimmy & Robbie in the eyes of Demon fans by the time he retires. I base this on 2 things In the modern era the one club player is rare especially at clubs which have been as low as ours has over Jones period, similar to Robbies As a long suffering Dee whilst IMO it is highly unlikley taking us to the Holy Grail would make Jones very special. Must say Jonesy is one of the few things keeping my 7 year old on board, he absolutely loves Jones and only knows about Smith, Barassi, Flower, Stynes & Neiter through my stories and memorabilia
  3. I'm hoping Petracca & Brayshaw but thinking that is unlikely Not beleiveing any of this talk about Pickett flying into contention I'm warming to Lever after hearing of his dedication to rehab and leadership qualities, but also understand why the club may also look at Mcartin I think we can take it to the bank Brayshaw will be a Dee next season, just a matter of who is the other one Hope - Petracca & Brayshaw Like - Brayshaw & Lever Okay/Understand - Brayshaw & Mccartin Outside chance - Brayshaw & Laverde
  4. There is no supposedly about it Mitch Robinson is as hard as nails, Tapscott has not delivered and Robinson has delivered at AFL level. He would be on very low money and I would take him, 1 year contract which automatically triggers a second year if he plays a certain amount of games http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyx-czo4h6U
  5. My Youngest son and another kid were the only two wearing Demons jumpers at their school on Footy colours day, what I have noticed in WA over the last few years is the big increase now in kids picking the Dockers over Meth Coast. As WYL says we really need to put together a few good seasons to get some young supporters on board
  6. Yes from me, DH???? may well be but improves our midfield depth and hardness
  7. There are midfielders and then there are the likes of Luke Hodge who are just a rare bread, on field coach/leader, demands success and leads from the front. Roughie and Lewis are also cut from the same cloth all very hard to replace Sammy Mitchells vision, Burgoyne poise skill, ability in traffic. It aint that easy
  8. I was actually thinking the same thing when McCarthy was let go, I thought Stone may go on a bit longer and another club would grab him. Would be a good pick up in tat position
  9. Touk Miller he actually caught my eye somewhat in the WA vs Vic Metro game in the U/18's earlier this year Attended the game today and from start to finish Vic Metro were clear and away the better side, really good inside with clean hands and always had a loose man outside who once with ball in hand broke away easily and the delivery inside 50 was very good. Vic Metro could have won by 100+ had they kicked straighter. I went today keen to see Angus Brayshaw through the middle and whilst he was good and really looks to have a good tank and work ethic but there were others who stood out namely Christian Patrecca found plenty of the ball and his tackling was ferocious and he looks a good size and would step into AFL without any issues in size, Touk Miller looked good and was constantly putting pressure on WA defenders who had no answer to his tackling and his ball use was good and he was very good in congestion. Cavka I know nothing about but along with Petracca was one of the standouts, he caught my eye with his workrate and his willingness to run hard after feeding off the ball to provide an option. Number 6 for Vic Metro Ahern was very good with his run through the middle and showed a strong ability to break the lines. WRIGHT is some size and a very good kick for a young guy that big, whilst he didn't star he showed enough to suggest he will go high in the draft. A few glimpses of being good below his knees which will rate highly as a KPT and his positional sense and awareness of when to go to a contest and when to hang out the back is something someone so young usually needs to be taught. WA were really bad mostly across the field and bombed the ball into their forward 50 on numerous occasions despite Vic Metro's 2 big defenders Langford and Vickers-Ellis dominating their defensive 50, these two boys were very impressive. Mark young Waterman down as a monty to go to Meth Coast, his decision making is excellent and he uses the ball extremely well and he just knows how to read the play and finds space easily. The knock on Waterman is his pace lets be honest he has none otherwise he would be top 5 but still going to be a very good player and I don't see why they wouldn't take him. Clem Smith was undisciplined and gave away two silly 50m but was hard at every contest and laid some good solid body hits, one of which left one of Vic Metro's boys a little shaken up for a few minutes. Smith's ball use is good and he will stand out at the next level with players who know where to run and lead. Jared Hardisty from Claremont was very busy throughout and showed some very clean hands and accumulated plenty of the footy. Not sure at around 5ft 9 that he will go in the first 3 rounds but worth a late pick or rookie as his workrate and ability to find the ball were impressive. Jarred Pickett showed about 2 minutes of highlights and bursts of pace but my god he doesn't work hard and does not put in the effort to get pressure/body or a tackle on an opponent or get to a contest that is not to far away from him. I would imagine he will talked of highly by many because you would be able to put together a nice highlight reel for him but for me really needs to work harder. So for me if I was picking on today Petracca - big bodied mid excellent disposal hard at the ball and makes tackles count Wright - the glimpses were enough and I can see the ability to just impose himself Braywhaw - very good 1st quarter went out for a bit in the middle but finished strongly and has a fantastic tank Cavka - worked hard didn't just admire some good work went again to get another kick or provide an option Waterman - just a quality footballer and if he had pace would be an absolute star Ahern - line breaking pace and shows a lot of ability to cause problems breaking from clearances Smith - is developing into a Byron Pickett clone and loves to hit hard Langford - controlled the defensive 50 and plenty of sides need tall defenders Miller - really good decision maker and applies some good pressure inside 50 Hardisty - accumulated plenty of the footy showed the required workrate their will be doubters on his size
  10. Daniel Metropolis kicked 6 on debut and he was a good ordinary WAFL player Shane Ellen kicked 5 in the pressure cooker of a Grand Final Hawthorn do not have a great ruck division and have not had for 5 years he played 1 game in that time for a reason, and do yourself a favour and watch the game you're talking about against Meth Coast in Tassie not many would have missed those gifts
  11. Thank god a bit of common sense, Jesus it's October, more delistings at each club, clubs picking up DFA'S, the draw, the draft, then the pre season starts injuries and interrupted pre-seasons to effect each club differently. Players will improve on every list and some players will drop off dramatically on each and every list, a few veterans will be running around with lead bots like ROK when they realise they went that one year to long. I expect continued improvement, not expecting miracles we are into the second year of our rebuild (yes for the wrist slashers I know we have been down this road since 07 but with the major fook ups we have started again). 6 -8 wins should be the realistic aim but obviously hoping we improve fitness on running out games and increase our belief and win some of those games we probably should have won this year. You don't worry about the other clubs and just concentrate on improving ourselves and everything slowly falls into place
  12. If Danger is going to move next season the club and all other clubs will know by the start of the new season, the general public will know once the old "I'm putting my contract talks off to the end of season" gets trotted out
  13. Watts, Strauss & Maric? Yeah nah, get the player who will find it and has some desire, mongrel and desire to succeed
  14. Those who are unhappy with the trade period were also doing a lot of posting buying the BS that Dangerfield, Beams, Joey Kennedy and others were on their way. and a lot of those same people bought BS last year and will do again in 2015 You're not just disapointed your actually gullable
  15. Welcome aboard Sam, glad to have you at the club Roos and the Footy department identified you from a long way out and got what they wanted Recall many Bombers laughing when you took Ted Richards, hope this turns out the same
  16. Are you surprised Steve, look through his posts Josh Mahoney isn't a pro This club can't do anything right This player is a spud FFS it's actually comical, you wonder what these people see when watching a game of football
  17. Greg Clarke is going to continue growing and will be a first round lock in for next years draft. Other kids will grow over the next few months and swing into calculation. Saints will do what we should have done under Prendergast all through those years and pick the best available
  18. We have a lot of space in the salary cap those two wont be on big coin. They aren't going to make it I have no issue especially with Evans being paid out
  19. As of next Monday we will have a fair few more spots those who weren't traded will be delisted and 1 or two others will have their contracts paid out. We will have around 6 spots available
  20. Agree Rjay all the geniuses on here, hope they have done their homework on the draft. From what I have seen this draft runs very deep a limit on stars so we get the potential stars with the first 2 picks, Stretch and use the other two picks on another 2. I implore everyone to do some homework on this years draft pool not a lot of difference between 20-60 on what I have seen
  21. and this time last year it was waiting for Brisbane, take your head out of the oven and harden up
  22. How about Pick 23 for Greene & Brayshaw & Petracca/Lever
  23. FMD what is the world coming to, half of Demonland wanting to slit their wrists because Saints likely to trade Pick 1 so Giants can take Petracca. and I find myself agreeing with olisik, we take who is available out of these three
  24. Sometimes STMJ you just happen to be an ordinary key tall in a year when there are very few and you get talked about very highly time will tell McCartin/Wright/Keital/Mckenzie vs Hogan/Danniher/Boyd
  25. They had a lot worse things to worry about then missing out on the messiah who was going to catapult the club into the finals, you face adversity and when things don't go your way you pick yourself up and go again. But no lets whinge about our woes which in the big scheme of things are not life threatening
