  1. Agreed. Momentum changed. It's a pity Tappy was subbed as he would have had my vote to be the karma provider.
  2. Noooooooo I've been waiting a long time to watch Tappy renew his 'Smash Zorko' campaign from 2 years ago. Please don't ruin it selectors.
  3. Afl.com.au tipping the Lions. http://m.afl.com.au/news/2014-07-30/preview-melbourne-v-brisbane-lions
  4. Would they dangle him like a carrot in front of could-be members for next year. I'm sure they'd like to show what the future has going for it.
  5. Cross is the only one who has progressed in the past 2 weeks apparently? He is the only player who has recovered at all over the split round as every other player has the same expected return according to the Hun as was released by the club 2 weeks ago.
  6. Was thinking more along the lines of Jesse's timeframe. Going by the notion that no news is good news, that would suggest an updated injury list is bad news.
  7. We seem to be the only team to not update their injury list this week. In fact, we haven't updated it for 2 weeks. This couldn't be a deliberate thing could it?
  8. At least we would find out what other clubs are willing to trade for Pick 1 or 2.
  9. Actually, you can hear the umpire state that the free was for 'high contact'
  10. Guess the free kick against Watts to end the 3rd did come back to screw us in the a?$e after all.
  11. It certainly has. 20 years ago if you weren't good enough to play highest or second highest level of basketball that was it. Nowadays we have more players hitting US colleges and European teams than ever before. With more destinations for potential elite players comes more kids interested in earning big bucks to play outside of australia. These guys in Europe are making over 1 million a year and not even in the starting 5 in some cases.
  12. Basketball, like it or not, is a bit more learner friendly than football. It's played inside, all year round, you can easily practice on your own and even play it in a competitive manner in groups as small as 2 and you can even put up a ring in your back yard with little space required. Kids who have tall parents are also encouraged to play due to the notion of taller people being better or at least having more of a chance to be better than shorter ones. It's not that often a kid with tall parents will hear someone say "wow, he'd be great at ruck". Or, "he'd be a great key position defender".
  13. As a club, we have really had bad luck with our forwards that struggle with one injury after another. Jurrah had his high ankle and then thumb, took time off to get over the injuries and never came back. Clarke had the foot, hamstring etc, took some time off and never came back. Hogan had the back then the ???????, took some time off and _____________ . Let us pray.
  14. I think he is learning how to be a forward by playing in defence. Give it time.
  15. Maybe they should bring in a rule that if you pass through the opposition's goals while being tackled it just counts as a behind. Oh, wait.............
  16. I've watched a few Cats games this year and yes, I think they are more gettable than the Dockers. Frawley making it tough for Hawkins, Jetta on Motlop, Vince on Selwood. If we can guide them to the flank and pocket and restrict their run through the middle it's game on. Although it would require us playing a whole 4 quarters of football. Not the 2 or 3 we have seen lately.
  17. Would be great to 'trial' a few up in Darwin and leave some key players on ice for Geelong the week after. We all know we don't back up well from the Darwin games and I think the Cats are more gettable. Maybe keep McDonald out, bring in Michie for Viney, georgiou in for Terlich, may as well rest Jamar and let Gawn and Pederson get smashed by Sandilands. Wouldn't hurt to put Tapscott in to 'take care' of Ballantyne.
  18. But to be extra fair, Jamar's free kick was right in front of us and I actually thought the free was for Pederson being smashed in the head on the tackle that followed immediately after. Either way, it would have been a goal.
  19. The worst part is that there could have been at least 2 more 4th quarter decisions thrown in there. Pederson's in the back decision and Dawes' tackle where the guy just casually rolls it along the ground for the next guy to come in and pick it up. If any doggie supporters even suggest they won fair and square they will be automatically sent this very link.
  20. I'm pretty sure it was also right after he got his head almost ripped off with no free kick resulting. Pretty sure it was a frustration thing. Poor bugger, tough to control it when the hearts goin a million miles an hour.
  21. It is no coincidence that as soon as Roos starts implementing an attack plan, the same old errors come to the fore. When we were solely defensive and ultra-conservative (up until the Pies) our turnovers were limited and not so costly. Now that we are layering our attack onto our defence it's back to the abattoir, butchers everywhere. Consider it two steps back after taking three steps forward. If it's a case of people trying to do things beyond their skill set, it can be fixed by better decision making, which is easily done with Roos' playing your role model. If it's a case of players simply not up to executing the basics of accurate disposals then not much will change until those players are moved on for those that ARE able to do it. We will probably know which it is in another 3-4 weeks. No improvement means it is probably the latter.
