  1. But playing him as a CHF makes them not opposites any more. Surely CHB is the opposite of CHF?
  2. I've been looking forward to the McDonald Riewoldt matchup since Round 1 last year. I think Tom is Nick's identical opposite. Tall, lean, fit, run all day and cover huge distances. Riewoldt used to run his opponents off their feet, that was his strength. Tom negates that.
  3. I think the player we had in the team that was the CLOSEST to matching Cloke for height and strength was Pedo. Dunn, too short, McDonald and Fitz too light. None else was even close.
  4. Martin. Sorry. Couldn't help myself.
  5. I don't think we had a specified loose in defence. There were times when Garland was roaming free, Cross was too and I think at one point I saw Howe on his own. There's no way you'd send the loose defender into our forward line and give Cloke even more room to roam around and isolate himself in. You can't send a midfielder in there because then you're outnumbered at the stoppages. Although Vandenberg would have been great keeping Oxley second guessing if he was out there. They eventually sent McDonald forward, probably just to compete with Oxley and bring the ball to ground. Then just as he ran along the edge of the square to the forward line, they bounced the ball in the centre, turned and hit White right in front of goal.
  6. He popped up too quick for it to be an accident. Footy smarts. Nothing on Channel 7 about him falling, not sure what commentary Bobby is referring to.
  7. I'm usually on your wavelength old dee but not with this. 'I know the ball is up there somewhere but I'm not sure where. I won't put both my arms out because I have a better chance of getting it with one hand'. I think he was lazy, not stupid.
  8. Just watched a replay of his attempted mark. It was pretty pathetic. Not saying he was the reason we lost or anything ridiculous like that. He played well overall and his aggression was great. But it was still a pretty pathetic effort. I'm not sure who else on our team wouldn't have chest marked it.
  9. How amusing was the collective groan from all the MFC supporters when he handpassed to Dunn as he was being tackled from behind by Cloke in the 2nd quarter? He could have kicked it himself he was so open.
  10. Hogan looked like he hurt either his knee or his hammy when he got 'escorted' under the ball in a marking contest in the 3rd quarter. Didn't notice him at all after that. Hope it doesn't come to anything.
  11. According to AFL.com.au, Vandenberg wasn't even in our best 6 players. Wtf?
  12. I just hope what they do with them equates to winning. Let's face it, the skills of kicking and hand passing never change either but they don't equate to winning either.
  13. My only concern is that by the time this group learns how to win footy games, the game will have evolved into something else and we're back to square one.
  14. Let's not forget Vince's inside 50 for the Crows goal at the start of the 3rd. Face palm.
  15. Once we lose our grip on the possession based game, we have nothing. We just can't get the ball back and take control again.
  16. Back to tenth. Goodbye top eight. Hopefully we might cross paths again next year.
  17. Howe. 1 mark and 1 tackle. I think I could have done that.
  18. But how many kicks to advantage have our forwards been given? [censored] delivery as usual.
