MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 18
mrtwister replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
And no Oxley. Given it was Cloke and Oxley that killed us last time, I wonder who it will be this time. -
The only thing worse than the weather is us at the moment. Fmd

What made Carlton think that Jones was better than Waite?

We are now playing the worst footy in the comp. I don't feel confident in beating anybody anymore.
-
If we DONT beat Essendon I will ...

not let my kids go back to school next week. (Massive Essendon supporter base) -
Just saw Naitanui in the best players on afl.com.au. Am I judging him too harshly? I didn't think he impacted the result as much as a lot of others on that team.

I think it's safe to assume that the push in the back rule is pretty much dead and buried. Unless, of course, you land on somebody's back that is already on the ground. All weekend I have seen players bending over to pick the footy up (as everybody is taught to do) and then getting blatantly pushed from behind. Every time it has resulted in one of three things. Either the player in front goes to ground and the 'pusher' runs on and gets the ball, or, the player in front lands on the ball and subsequently has to immediately dispose of it from his disadvantaged position, or, inexplicably, the player in front lands on the ball and the 'pusher' jumps on him and holds the ball in and gets a free for holding the ball. WTF is going on with our game?

AFL Round 13 - they're all non MFC Games
mrtwister replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
"The high-priced forward had some good fortune go his way for three of his goals, but he used that to build his confidence for a breakout game of 12 touches and six marks – four of which were contested." Quoted from afl.com.au article about Boyd's nomination. Softest nomination ever? -

Apparently he's playing for Footscray tomorrow. -

Looks like the unstoppable tandem of Boyd and Stringer are being stopped. Maybe Brisbane just made them (and Waite, Riewoldt, Dixon, Casboult, Daniher) look good? Who would have thunk it? -
The thought that the MFC, who have done a pretty good job with recruiting recently, had reasons to believe that Petracca deserved pick 2 over Brayshaw is exciting.
-
Sorry everybody. I feel like it was my fault Should've just shut up
-
Please. No goal before half time
-
Has brought the ball to ground in the forward line with a few attempted marks though. Nothing wrong with that.
-
How have we ended up with umpire 28 AGAIN?
-
Surely we give away more goals in the last 90 seconds of a quarter than any team in the history of the AFL.

Having a decent amount of time back home in Perth would probably be good for Jesse as well i would think. -
Pretty sure the report stated fractured and dislocated. OUCH
-
He sure was. And Riley.

A lot of our players just have really bad habits and they seem to resort back to them when under pressure. On the commentary tonight, Lynch was IN the Melbourne coaching box. He stated a few times that Roos was happy with this, unhappy with that and so on. A couple of times he mentioned that Roos was unhappy about not kicking to an option going into forward 50 and that the uncontested intercept marks were killing us. This was apparently a major focus at quarter time as well. He asked them to stop booting it in as high and far as they can and to lower their eyes and aim for a target. Then, like clockwork, they went out and kept bombing it in the forward 50. WTF? If Hogan didn't bail us out by getting a couple of goals from two of these rainbows, we would never have been close after quarter time.

Roosy was yelling into the phone to get them back. Why would he even need to? U10s stuff
