  1. I don't get this whole situation. If he's out of contract, how come we get to trade something for him? How do we own him at all?
  2. I don't think it should be a high pick, just something to get it done. I get he was dropped but as an outside mid, your possessions can often often rely on inside midfielders getting the ball out to you. I understand that others see it differently, I just think we could use his run out of defence more than we can use a loose defender that can sometimes mark an opposition inside 50.
  3. I don't think so IMO. They are swapping Howe for Bastinac, no great gain really. We are losing Howe for Aish, I think we'd be getting the better of that deal by a fair distance.
  4. Posted in the Jeremy Howe thread but relevant here too. Howe to NM, Bastinac to Brisbane, Aish to us and we top Brisbane up with a draft pick?
  5. Why can't he go to NM, Bastinac to Brisbane, Aish to us and we top Brisbane up with a pick as well?
  6. Thinking of hash tagging the image on twitter. And yes, our son's heart beats true. The wonderful irony is that most of the kids at his school are Bombers supporters.
  7. Not sure what to do with the attached image. This was sent to our (then 6 year old) son when he was getting swayed by school friends to support a different team because the Dees 'sucked'. When membership volunteers called, I told them the issue and about a week later, this is what we got in the post.
  8. Maybe his manager pulled him out of the medical after he remembered what Richmond did to Trengove when they tested him last year.
  9. Maybe we are just trading him to free up some cash? Does that work in the AFL? If we trade him for a third round pick that we probably won't use would that remove his contact from our books?
  10. Not sure if this has been mentioned and i don't have time to trawl through 49 pages but, I received our membership renewal today and there is an option to have a player of your choice on your membership card. There are 10 to choose from but alas, no Jeremy Howe. Ominous
  11. Mind the gap: Howe, Dees still apart on new deal
  12. Personally, I think Carlton being crap is better for the AFL. They'll get more opposition supporters through the gates to watch their team smash them than they will having Carlton supporters come back to the games if they win more than half a dozen games.
  13. 13 free kicks to 3 already. [censored] this [censored] every week. It's so frustrating to watch head f uckers screw us over time and again. Given that the dockers are going to get bullship frees anyway we may as well start making them earn it.
  14. Thanks for the contribution grazman. No there isn't really a point to it. But there isn't really a point to anybody commenting on or choosing their ins and outs each week either because we aren't part of the selection committee but it still happens. Not sure why people on here are so happy to chime in with opinions that don't contribute to discussions in any way. If you don't like the thread, don't click on it, and certainly don't feel the need to post something.
  15. Where do you think we would be if we stuck with Bailey but made all the front office/personnel (Misson/Jackson/Bartlett) changes that we have to this day? I think the Bulldogs are pretty much doing what Bailey was trying to do, only 4 years later. I often wonder what would have happened if the club stuck to their guns by getting rid of Schwab instead of Bailey.
  16. Don't want to hijack the thread but where do you think we would be if we stuck with Bailey but made all the front office/personnel (Misson/Jackson/Bartlett) changes that we have to this day? I think the Bulldogs are pretty much doing what Bailey was trying to do, only 4 years afterwards.
  17. Negativity and lack of confidence are very different. My feeling going into Sunday's game was that I wasn't confident of winning that game, given that we usually play poorly against the lower sides. It wasn't a case of 'theres no way we will win today"
  18. If performance based salaries resulted in us paying MORE money, I'd be surprised yet happy
  19. Spent the game as a guest in the Carlton Captain's Room. Saddest part is, we were never in it. Against the team that was dishing up the WORST form in the AFL at this present time. This is the second tie we have done this (Essendon). I knew it was over with the Cripps goal in the last quarter when Gawn had a great run at a mark on the wing, only to spoilt by Grimes (who had no idea that Gawn was even there) and while both of them took each other out, Carlton ran in and scored from 20 out in front. How can a bunch of blokes who train and play together so many times, be so disjointed and unaware of each other. It was a dog's breakfast all game. ps. Surprised to not see Howe listed in Carlton's goal scorers OR in their best players. He would be disappointed and surprised I think.
  20. http://www.afl.com.au/video/smart-replay Go to Garlett's goal (our first one). Jesse is in the middle at the bounce that follows it.
  21. watts was interfered with last time as well but it didn't seem to matter then
