Has he just hit form or is it the slight change of role? Either way he played well last week and is continuing this week

The Rubicon was crossed.

Playing well. Hawthorn have jumped most teams early. They were always going to come hard early

How the Rift between Woewodin & the Dees was Healed

I don't have access to this article but Will Schofield who wrote the article hosts an awesome podcast called Backchat which had Shane as a guest this week. I'm guessing that the content discussed for the article will be contained in the interview. Podcast will be on Spotify and YouTube tomorrow. Jamar would give Gawn a decent opponent in the ruck. Taps directly to Beamer (every single time). Moloney would burst forward and throw it on the boot which would be easily intercepted by Lever, Petty and May. This is no way a dig at Moloney. He cops a bad wrap on here at times but his throw it on the boot tatic at stoppages would be destroyed by our current team. After it happens three times in a row the vein in Mark Neelds neck explodes from yelling into the phone too loud. Before Mark can make it to the ambulance, Cam Schwab notices that the blood coming out of Neelds vein is the perfect colour he has been looking for the players guernsey. Unfortunately we are still playing in the purple one with the fake collar. The following week Moloney is dropped and replaced by Magner

Confident about this one for some reason.
-
I feel the same. I always hated them for all the draft assistance they received. I always thought they would become an unstoppable force eventually. I feel they have missed their chance and are closer to a rebuild than a premiership.
-
Tom Hawkins frequent pushes in the back finally in the spotlight. It becomes rule of the week. Beneficiary? Tom Hawkins via a dive. Absolute [censored].

He now knows that we won last year and look likely to challenge again and he still wouldn't have chosen to come to us. Says all I need to know. He is happy with the success he already has and is happy with his decision. Truly. This is great for him. But it also 100% reinforces my opinion at the time that I didn't want to give a big three year contract for a player who was content. He has played better than I thought he would at Geelong. Not having him on good coin is a really good outcome for us.
-
The loss to Adelaide isn't great but they are an up and down young team. The rest of the Tigers results aren't terrible. Their list is still pretty good on paper and could give us a shake if we aren't on. I think we win comfortably though. I would love for us to repeat the GWS treatment.
-
Fair enough. Good for him. He has won multiple flags already. Still think it's odd that in hindsight he would still not choose to come to us and have the ultimate success again. Just shows that he really was hanging out for that retirement contract and isn't interested in winning. Good result for us.

Official website match report doesn't say much either. Just says he was playing well until injured just after quarter time. Checked the Casey Twitter feed and no mention there either.
-
Not really. Jesse could have and should have been a champion. While injuries played a big part, I believe it was largely attitude based that he hasn't made it. He had a lot go wrong for him as a young man but he is at GWS and not playing terrible football. He seems in a good place where he can excel if his body holds up. I was gutted that he went home. I still have a soft spot for him but we won that trade by a long way. As for booing him... I never bother to boo players who have left, but it's an AFL tradition to boo players who leave your club no matter what the circumstances. Im not surprised he is booed. Hell... Isaac Smith was constantly booed today and he won multiple flags at the Hawks. It's dumb but the masses enjoy it as part of the game.
-
Now that Hawks are going to win I feel bad for cheering for them. [censored] Hawks. I don't even want it to be a draw though. Don't want Geelong getting anything

Cracking game
-
Hawks gameplan looks good. Playing quickly and moving it with pace through the midfield. Taking the game on. Similar to how Adelaide and Magpies played against us last year.
-
I was vocally opposed to giving him a three year deal but we are dreaming if we think he wouldn't have been in the best 22 last year. Just like Isaac is dreaming thinking he made the right decision to turn us down.
-
This had me intrigued. According to ranking points, round 1 2021 vs Freo was better (108 points). 2020 round 17 he scored 98 points vs GWS. Tonight was 95 points. As ranking points are very questionable I think it would be justified to argue that tonight was his best.
-
I would like to take this moment to say that I was wrong about Steve. I loved Hogan and was gutted that he went back to Freo. I wanted to take the draft pick to the draft and was fuming that we picked up May who I thought was overrated. I was 100% wrong and I apologise to Steve. He has been so important to our side.

So many teams with questionable defence and we have Tomlinson and Smith as our 4th and 5th best tall defenders. Just incredible. As for Weed, I would much prefer one player stood up as the clear 2nd tall behind Brown but am happy that Weid is still on the list to compete for a spot.
-
Tomlinson looked underdone this year but Petty looked better than ever. Any argument about who should play was put to bed today.
-
Spargo just sublime tonight. So many others I could mention too.
-
That look on Cogs face at the end. It's that moment of true clarity that he knows he stayed for a big contract when he should have left the souless club.
