Potential 2nd rounder. I've stolen most of this from the bigfooty phantom drafts board. Video - http://www.afl.com.au/video/tabid/76/contentid/390620/julian+dobosz+-+2011+highlights/default.aspx Taken from Knightmares phantom on bigfooty Julian Dobosz (TAS - KPF) Height: 193cm, Weight: 85kg, DOB: 17/11/1992 Recruited from: North Hobart Style: Jack Riewoldt Profile: Sensational talent and has that full forward ability few have. Is very new to the game which makes him incredibly interesting. The thing that stands out to me with Dobosz is his ability to read the ball better than his opponent which seems to allow him to get to the right positions more often than not. Very high level athlete and is incredibly quick. Showed that he is a big time goal kicker throughout the year while also putting in some very strong performances during the u18 championships. Would like for him to work a bit harder defensively. Tackling still doesn’t look completely natural to him and needs allot of work. But for someone so new to the game, looking very promising. Video Highlights What makes Dobosz stand out from the few games i've seen of him is his ability to read the ball in the air. Has excellent excelleration and 1v1 is not bad either physically. Probably doesn't go for tackles as much as I'd like. Seems to chase but then seems to hesitate before tackling rather than really going for it - hopefully this will come with experience. That defense aspect to his game still needs developing. Also his goal kicking totals I consider a little flattering. In the opener v Vic Country had either easy set shots from 30m out directly in front or cheap goals right infront of goal. Set shot goal kicking routine I'd like to see more work go into. Seems to do a that few short quick steps then launch the kick. Needs work but from the games i've seen still seems to convert ok. Overall still a raw, but exciting talent. Lots of improvement to come. Considering how new he is to AFL with only the 1 season under his belt. Could have a future in this league. Probable 1st rounder. Look for a St Kilda or other team looking for a KPF to look at him seriously in the 1st round. Without a doubt one of the better forwards in this draft. Quote from a random bigfooty member. Ex soccer player. Has only played the game for 12 months - this of course means massive upside. He kicked 7 against Vic Country hahaha. Absolutely dominated that game. Intelligent forward despite his inexperience. Taken from Bulldogsman's phantom. PICK 36 – Melbourne - Julian Dobosz (North Hobart) Height: 193cm Weight: 85kg DOB: 17/11/1992 Tall forward Julian is a full forward that reads the flight of the ball really well and is a solid mark. Quick on the lead and he’s an accurate shot on goal. He has kicked some big bags of goals. Only new to the game, but he looks like a very good prospect for a full forward. Still needs improvement in a lot of areas if he is to make the grade especially defensively. Will need a couple of years before he’s ready, he’s still got a lot to learn.

silly brisbane. could have had pick 20 in the super draft
-
Yeah, you got me. The delivery 'psyched' me.

That guy was stabbed and spent 4 months in hospital before going to jail. I dont really want our players to go through that. I liked the rest of your post but the choice of video didn't help your argument.

Demons told Harry Taylor 'We are going to pick you up'
BAMF replied to BAMF's topic in Melbourne Demons
That would be my guess too. Taylor was a bolter if i remember correctly. -
If we are planing on giving up both comp picks, I want some change. eg. Both compo picks + Pick 12 for O'Meara + Pick 9
-
Buckley taking advise from Rocket? I just can't see Buckley's ego giving him a second of his attention. Shame most of the action will take place behind closed doors.
-
Anyone else read the Harry Taylor article in the paper today? http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/harry-taylor-has-hands-on-double/story-e6frf9jf-1226155273308 HARRY Taylor cannot believe his luck. Four years ago he was overlooked by Melbourne and now he has won two premierships with Geelong. "It's amazing what cards fate can deal you. Melbourne told me they were going to pick me up but didn't. Who knows where I would be now if they had," the centre half-back said as he savoured the club's remarkable 38-point victory over Collingwood. yesterday. Anyone know anything about this? I wonder if we were planning on using pick 21 (Maric) Or if we were planning on using 14 and decided on Grimes instead.

Dont be put off. This is the drafts and trading board. Most of the topics are going to be about rumours.
-
What? Who might get Dangerfield?
-
Wish they timed it. would love to compare.
-
I really want him to make it. At the moment he is best 22. He owns his role. I just cant see him improving his disposal. Meanwhile Bail brings a lot more to the table offensively and has shown this year that his tagging skills are coming along in leaps and bounds. Disappointing seeing as Bailey had spent so much time trying to develop his footskills.
-
He was playing injured today. But im glad we didnt get him. we would have paid far too much.

What are you talking about? 'Suck Eggs' is abusive? Yes. Well done to the cats. They thoroughly deserved it and besides the dee's ive been hoping they win it all year. But I hate Collingwood. I've put up with pie suppoters being the worst winners all year. Sucked in to them losing. When someone asks me who you would like to win besides your own team, the answer is always 'anyone but collingwood' Also I don't view this as being negative. Most pie supporters love it that they are so hated. It brings them closer together and has the whole all of them vs us. I hope we are hated more soon.
-
Poor form closing the other thread Nasher. Sucked in Collingwood. I've had 'Back to back' claims shoved down my throat all year. Stocked that Pies lost. Geelong are deserving winners. Tommahawk firing was good to see.

Who on earth says that?
-
I would be hesitant to give away both our compo picks. Maybe our mid round compo and pick 12 I doubt pick 4 would be the final offer from gold coast. Imagine getting O'Meara Viney and another pick straight after Viney in the superdraft. Drool.
-
Gold Coast has offered pick 4 for him apparently. Sucks that they are in the box seat. Of course they are willing to give up pick 4 this year seeing as they have got young talent busting at the seams.
-
I like him. The official Melbourne site was horrible a few years ago. The amount of content it has got now is awesome. Hope he stays working for the club.

ours was a clerical breach wasnt it?

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/tigers-fined-for-salary-cap-breach/story-e6frf9jf-1226149442874 THE AFL has fined Richmond $10,000 for breaching the salary cap through an "administrative error". AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson said the Tigers breached the AFL Player Rules during the 2010 season. What were our penalty's for breaching the salary cap in 99? It was a lot more than 10g

http://www.afl.com.au/development/tabid/11732/default.aspx AFL site has added some videos. Not all players are up yet, but there is enough to get you interested. If you don't know who to look at, Bigfooty experts have named a few player that should be around pick 12. Sam Docherty - Quick half back flanker with good disposal. Liam Sumner - Outside Mid with good skills and loves a run. Jackson Paine - 193cm KPF

We have set ourselves up this way. We knew years ago that our leadership was hopeless. What we need is to stay the course. Keep pumping games into our young kids. Bring them through as a group. Once they start reaching the 80-100 game mark we will be a super force. We have drafted future leaders. We just need to be patient until they emerge. I'm willing to stick it out. We have culled our list deep and harshly to set ourselves up for the future, burning good club stewards along the way. I really don't want to screw it up by bringing in some over the hill players or even trading for a Goddard who will be leaving retiring at our peak and burning cash and draft picks in return at the same time. Do we really want to be like Richmond? Bringing in average to decent player like Miller, Houli and Grigg? Yep, we are in for a couple more years of mediocrity. But after that we will be a genuine premership contender for a long period. We haven't been one of those for 50 years. Stay the course.

Sounds ugly now.
