I really liked the Gladiator style the jumper had. I actually quite liked the star idea too, but I feel that it needed to be introduced once we won a flag. Not when we are on the bottom. I like the emblem, but it doesnt need to be on the jumper. Also, I would like to see us keep the emblem in some form but not use it as a logo. If that makes sense. Edit : Those blazers can p!ss right off. As can that weird thing with putting a flag up at the home game.

N.Z international rookie. Picked him up last year. Not on main list or rookie list. Very skinny by all reports but seems to be coming along quicker than expected.

Not sure what I thought would happen when I opened this thread. Now I realise that I could not give a [censored] about Liam Jurrah.

Clark to become 2nd ruck? Are there any other teams whose 2nd ruck is better than their 1st ruck?
-
Moved onto import / exports didnt he?

I can't remember Colin ever being played as a key forward. Next year has been Sylvias best year for the past 8 years. Good to see that the tradition continues.

177cm 69kg. Very small

Jesus. That is bad.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DANIEL CROSS
BAMF replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree that we could have a better year than them. But when we beat them, it will be because our forwards and defence will be much better than theirs. Our midfield will be way off theirs. Gawn to be better than Minson? Please. If Gawn is better than Minson I will agree to buy you a carton of beer. (injuires aside) -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DANIEL CROSS

I think you need to take the rose coloured glasses off. We are ahead of them with forwards and backs. Our midfield is nowhere near as good as theirs. Griffen is a star. Libba has had an amazing year and if continues on will be a star. Boyd is a solid A grader, Cooney showed this year that he can still turn it on and the injury hasnt slowed him down too much. Add their list of young mids coming through who have already shown a lot more than just promise. Compare it to our list which has Jones B+ (almost A) and then some good young potential. Vince will replace Sylvia's out put and then a little bit more. Cross is a great pick up. Tyson has played 13 games and hasnt had a good run yet. Michie has played 1 AFL game and has had a truckload of injuries. Gawn will have to double his output from last season to be anywhere near Minson. I remeber the game we played against the dogs this year where Gawn was doing a decent job of staying even with Minson. Then in the last quarter it looked like Gawn could have fallen over from exhaustion. Minson powered through, won the rucks with ease competing agaisnt both Fitzy and Gawn single handed, gave their midfield the easiest run I have seen from a ruck. They had a massive comeback and nearly pinched it. This is Minson strength, I have seen him lift multiple times in the last quarter while the other rucks tire. -
Oh. Silly me. apologies demonoid and furious d. Had my Freeman blinkers on.

http://m.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-04/draft-combine-results Freeman finished top 10 in both 3k and beep test.
-
Tested in top 10 in 3k time trial. Maybe he drops off after this?

I thought Lennon looked the far better kick. He just had a lot more composure. Freeman semed to rush his kicks and kick to position rather than pick a player out. Totally depends on Lennons ability to learn how to play through the middle. I would be happy with either to be honest. I am basing this on highlights alone. I would love to know what they are both like defensively.
-
Yep. Just watched both Lennon and Freeman. Lennon would be my pick based on the vision only.

I would like a interstate team at the G. Port would be good. We will get a chance to test our selves against a decent team, and all demons suppoters will show up to see how the dees play. Therefore getting a decent crowd for an interstate team.

Those stats are so close that you cannot use them to compliment your argument.
-
Speed? Seriously? Pace is ok. Certainly not a weapon.
-
We will be getting pick 9 back too. The deal is worth discussing. I would be a bit disappointed though.
-
Bugg is a quality player and we shouldn't be too quick to say no. Its Buntine I'm unsure of. The puntchured lung would explain it. He did play a bit of midfield before drafted
-
I've got mixed feelings. Bugg was one of the pre-listed players and has played some good football. Buntine was a high draft pick. Pick 5. But hasnt been selected too often. Not sure if he was injured. Both have been playing as defenders. Think Bugg may be able to push into the middle this year. I would be really happy to get pick 9 though. Means we still get a good pick and two players.
-
Worst case, he is injured all the time. The only thing we are giving up is a spot on our list. Wouldn't be the end of the world. Hope Mitch and Dawes can play this year though!
