Our fitness. Remember this is only the second year of a three phase ramp up of pre-season fitness regime according to Dave Misson. Is this still a reasonable excuse to say the team still lacks the required fitness to compete for a full game or do we really just have too many dumb, lazy footballers? It makes me wonder if Misson will be hanging around for next year to see this through or if he's sent packing? Were he a Neeld that close that Misson would consider leaving due to all these changes? I hope that whatever remains in this 'three phased fitness regime' it focusses on player speed and explosiveness at clearances. This is where I would like to see a vast improvement come from.

Why is it you refer to 'jumper punching' as weak? I can't remember the last time he gave away a free for this. Dunn provides a bit of niggle and attempts to put the opposition off and gets chastised by the clubs supporters for it. FM!

How so? It's easy to debate you on both points. Club has under-developed him, Neeld rode him into the ground via the media, decimated his confidence. Still plays in patches and teases to the point of frustrating the absolute hell out of us. I mentioned earlier in this thread (or one of the other Watts threads) that his game against the Dogs was great. He basically saved the game, everyone was praising Craig for finally playing him forward and thereby regaining some confidence. He will be an absolute steal if traded. BTW, I love what you've done to Jack Viney.

Still too much potential there that hasn't been realised due to a very dysfunctional club on so many levels. All this is finally being addressed and people want to trade him. FMD, the whole team is playing like sht. Watts is down on confidence. Another 6 kilos muscle on him and he'll be a monster. I'm refusing to say he's not going to come good at the MFC.

So if Roosy had taken on the job following immediately Neelds sacking and the results played out as they have with heavy losses and a defeat against GWS would you say there is no hope for next year? Expecting Craig to to drastically change the style of play and crank out half a dozen wins is delusional. And as Neelds mentor, he would've had very little influence on Neelds game plan even though it's now apparent he should've. As I said, winning is the only way to sell hope.

Strangely enough the idea of Craig and a couple of assistants from really succcessful clubs doesn't sound that bad to me. If Simpson came over with the view to a succession plan and a we managed a couple other successful ex-players to come on board then it might look okay. Will it sell hope in the same way Roos would? No, but winning games is the only way to sell hope anyway.

Rodan is a better stoppage player than Magner at AFL level and has a better understanding of the game which should theoretically provide better leadership on field. Magner is key to Caseys finals campaign. I could go on P_man but honestly I'm FIIK.

If Hird had never played a game for the Bombers, let alone becoming a favourite son and club champion, most Bombers supporters would want him hanged by now.

I think you'd find Viney and Craig would be driving this process. Wouldn't Flash love to be told that his services are aren't required next year by a Coach that he can't be told who it is.

It's been debated in other threads whether we should draft the best available youngster or use the PP to trade establised mids. I'm for doing the latter because of our glaring inadequacy in the midfield that needs immediate help - help that a first year player would not be able to provide in terms of leadership and playing capability.

Culture is a constant. It ebbs and flows according to quality of strategy and execution. MFC = poor culture Sounds like you need some buzz words old mate.

A Strong Culture is the fabric of any successful organisation. Out of the five teams below, tell me which one has has identifiable cultural issues and then tell me how they're performing now. If you can't see the direct correlation I'll be amazed. Geelong, St Kilda, Collingwood, Hawthorn, Sydney.

Many going on in a way that suggests PP's deliver results guaranteed - even Barrett thinks as much. As we've seen, it can be fools gold. Let's not get so cut about it.
