Too slow Tyson has to be traded if we are ever to make the leap into finals. Not just slow across the turf either... Too often caught with the ball after being meters in the clear Assessment and reaction time after receiving ball too slow Takes too long to execute and often projects kicks resulting in intercept turnovers and his hand balls are also often diabolical and panicky resulting in further turnovers. Watch the first half of his match against GWS. We started like a house on fire yet Too Slow managed to turn the ball over in critical stages of that first quarter or so straight to the opp resulting in linked chain goals. Add to this a pretty ordinary disposal efficiency (even for a mid fielder)...see above! Too slow, too many turnovers, not damaging enough to account for the negatives going the other way...time to go

Wild just like to add that I thought Hibberd wasn't too bad at times and tried his best all day. I think we paid a big price for letting go of both Dunny & Howe vs keeping Omac and Garland. Whilst neither are miles ahead for me,. I wld have taken either above those two if it were possible. We would probably now be playing finals as a result. The Pies only started to turn around their season once they started playing Dunny. I would trade " too slow" Tyson ahead of Salem in a heart beat. Salem thinks and assesses so much quicker and is actually able to hit targets. He also has much more upside. Tyson appears to have reached his best, and even that isn't worthy of a regular berth in the 22. Having said that his game on Sat wasn't great. I would have hoped Goody & the FD went taller down back and included Frost at the expense of Salem though.

Unfortunately we have been failing so often since '64' it's become regular fair. Nothing's changed. Time to churn and burn the bottom 6 to 8 players and go again. And FCS Goody.....dump that Bulltish 8 man defense, train the boys to play man on man for longer periods more effectively, stick more tackles and buy in a big clunking goal kicking power forward ASAP. If we don't fix these issues 2018 will see a repeat of this year, or worse!!

They hate Vic Clubs W4 so im not sure it's an effort they will be too concerned about. They might actually smile a little on the inside seeing us out and WC in.

On a knife's edge DB! If you look at the clearance numbers Adelaide should be 3 to 4 goals up (or more) so something is going horribly wrong for them in that first half on the outside. Maybe the Umps.... the usual 10 to 5 frees in West Coast's favour. Nothing knew there. We are a dumb club relying on this result to go our way though. Losing to Norf & Freo is coming back to haunt us.

Dee you may have brought up a very important point. Zone vs Man on Man when the opp gets a run on at any stage during a match. This is one area Sydney thrives on and IMO does better than any other club right now. Limiting their scoring opportunities through direct accountable one on one sustained pressure when the match is on the line and up for grabs. Win the balance of these contests and you slowly take control of the match.

I honestly haven't seen much of him Bombay (heard the positivity though) but he sounds like a decent option

Unfortunately I can't disagree with any of that BB. I wish it were different all other matches pretty much going to script. Then there was us....and West Coast?? But I still stand that to be a finals certainty we needed 13 wins. That we did not....our fate now in the lap of the football gods...oh and those unbiased Umps out West ?

And many on here mocked my post early in the year saying we would need to win 13 to be sure of making the eight! And here we are

He was enormous today and in a winning team would have been MVP for us Demon. His ability to keep his feet in the contest but also pick up the ground ball or yank it out is as good as anyone right now

And bombing it today was the worst of all options as they had a very tall backline. Pretty basic but clever selection by the Pies Still can't understand why Frost wasn't included to add extra height down back and extra run off HB as well. Playing the 8 man defence would make a little more sense to me if he was included when playing it for the extra run & carry on the rebound off the other flank to compliment Hibberd

To have any genuine success i agree. But we also need a brute of a forward who can clunk marks/smash packs and score half the time from set shots. We still dont have one.

Hannan was maybe a pass ay the end but i'm with u on the others. Oscar had a run at the pill from behind the goals when that shanked kick came in from the boundary at the city end and still couldnt make the goal line to lay a finger on it

Good assessment. Viney out is a huge hole for us though. Hulk going down also. I disagree re future and also domination. We have been better in the middle, last year In particular at times. Thats the Gawn / Viney factor. That will return but cant see it if we make finals as Maxy is so far off his best & Viney unlikely to get back or get back to his best. Apart from that our other main problem as ive said so many times....is this nonsensical 8 man defence that Goody just wont give up and continues to play into the hands of our opponents. If we get rid of that and replace a few of the lessor lights on the list next year we are a chance to actually go places and will start dominating the clearances and the middle once more.

Dont know what's worse. Travelling home on the Glen Waverley with a whole bunch of grumpy Demon supporters grumbling or listening to the Pies chant....COLL. LING WOOOOD in the last 5 minutes

That Co I prefer Viney that is correct Demon77. Tyson is a good "go to" option if one of either Jones, Viney, Clarry and Lewis are out but i don't think there's room for all 5 in the middle when they're all fit and playing. We become cumbersome and slow through the middle when we do IMO. I just see him as a class below these 4 right now but a handy back up if needed. Depth and competition for places in our core group of mid fielders can only be good for the team and it's future success surely.
