Fritta for AJ? Or does that leave too much to big Maxy?

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Brisbane

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Spargo having absolutely ZERO input or output on this game so far. Needs to lift BIG TIME

Shocking HB attempt from Tracc Done a few good things but offset by the bog ordinary The Lions are SO confident we will turn it over that they're keeping one or two numbers ahead of the ball readying for the sling shot off of our regular turnovers and clangers in transition

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Well that would be the wing where he played some scintillating footy last season along with a number of fabulous goals on the run. Not sure why we're playing him off HB. Another SG special

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Yes from that POV they're a fair bit off their 2021 - 2023 best. Clarry's alot closer than Tracc though. Even though he's still off his best from back then, his Player Rating has him up 28% on his horror 2024 and our 2nd highest rated player behind Max so far till last week. Even with the shocking rating when he tagged. Until last week, Tracc's Player Rating is down roughly 16% on his excellent 2024 result (up till the injury).

Oliver's a mile ahead of Tracc today and easily our best mid

Because most aren't natural forwards or have a forward's mentality / nouse. I forgot about Turner before when i mentioned sending Macca up there for Petty. So no need. Swap Petty for Turner to have any chance of getting close on the scoreboard

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Yep i'd rather trial Brown in this role for a while

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Not committing to the contest. Hanging back. Losing too many 1 v 1 s and not hitting the contest hard or with any pace / momentum at all. Simon needs to take him aside and have a word for the 2nd half. NO passengers mate

Lester to Melk. Andrews fail

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Tracc caught flat footed in the middle there. Needs to impact that loose ground ball contest somehow and disrupt that chain

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
I'd swap T-Mac for Petty in a heartbeat. Petty's kicking is woeful and reminiscent of a backman trying to play as a forward. Petty will cover 70% of the T-Mac role ok. Macca will at least kick decently if he gets on the end of a few. Lever in for Petty asap

The Melk - Andrews match up is a huge win for us. Need to find Melk's favoured side or stick it low and in front as often as we can

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
He's def an upgrade on a horribly out-of-form JVR, even if he does similar work at the chop out. Just needs a goal or two plus the pressure and crashing of Last time i looked, no one off DL is playing tomorrow Jnr. It's just an assessment. Remembering that we are the only team the Roos have beaten all season and by a whopping 10 goals Then there's our functional forward half and accuracy at goal to look forward to. Based on where the two teams are at of late, a win could arguably see this one as the upset of the season so far if we pull off a W.

NON-MFC: Round 10
A movie i'm glad i never saw Who the hec are GWS even playing today? Serious question

NON-MFC: Round 10
Garry blatantly barracking for questionable frees / marks to the filth is so cringeworthy. Like they need another supporter in the press etc. They get an armchair every time including from the umps. The game governed very diff for this mob. Sad stuff from our ex great

NON-MFC: Round 10
Reshelly ... what a garbage game today
-
NON-MFC: Round 10
Push in the back is non-existent when playing against the filth. Among umpteen other rules of the game that are governed very diff when playing this mob.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Agreed. I still think our weakest links are too weak to have us take games against this sort of opponent to anywhere near a win but hopefully we can push them to within a few goals or so before it blows out late. That's provided we don't use Clarry as a tagger. Worst move ever that telegraphs to the opposition that 'we aren't winning this so i'm just gonna limit the blow out" and hands the oppo a massive win from the get go. They don't have to think about covering our best mid - extractor / distributor (when he's on) at all ❌️ If we're tagging Neale ...Sparrow (who's in no man's land) and a bit from others like Spargo (mostly ineffective atm anyway) ✅️ McVee to Zorko ✅️ I hate honourable losses but those weak links are presently uber putrid with not much at Casey to replace in a form sense (yet).

Reasons for our Inaccuracy?
With the title of this thread I suspect the OP just wants to break the all time DL record for "number of pages in any one thread"

Unless he is not the sub? Is there a slim chance that might end up being Fritta?

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
I'm on a similar line here Brownie and a fair assessment in general from you. My only issue is that we should've taken advantage of such a stalwart backline earlier. Had we got our act together up forward from about the end of 2022 onwards. I'm not sure what this would have meant in terms of progressing beyond semis for two years running but pretty sure we wouldn't have gone out in straight sets in two consecutive years. The price we'll pay as you say, will not only be still having to solve the forward issues (including personnel) but then having to find the replacements for some of the aging KDs in the next season or two. I too am a huge backer of Turner playing almost always as a forward. Unless we lose the likes of a Petty or need to stack the backline to protect a lead or hold up an oppo on a big momentum run. I've been saying this for quite a while now. That's not to say Disco isn't a good defender either. He's very good. But his mobility and marking prowess up forward plus his reasonably accurate set shot kicking, is something we've sorely lacked so far in 2025 and pretty much the last 2.5 seasons post BBB. Add to that the fact that he is also showing some significant signs that it's all starting to click for him in terms of running patterns / forward craft and getting some reward for effort on the scoreboard. His pressure is quite reasonable also at ground level without the ball for a taller player. Just guessing on this from what i'm seeing though, i haven't checked the numbers to back that up. While i'm not saying he will become a Neita or someone like that as he doesn't have a No.1 KF build or top end forward talent about him, i can see him becoming a very handy 2nd stringer IF we can find someone to put into the No.1 role to help him out. Does that No.1 Key Forward come from the existing list? Not for mine. We'll need to go on a serious hunt to grab one imo. It's that or we are going to flounder and flop around for years trying to find home grown NQR solutions through the draft that probably won't do our forward stocks much justice in the short to medium term. Then there's the old adage, top end experienced KFs don't grow on trees and also tend not to find their way to the MFC. So there is that. Alot of things AFL look easier from behind the keyboard.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
The cupboard is bare mono. Shuffling the deck chairs. Lever & Vines the last cabs to bring back and hopefully we aren't rushing lever back. If Rick and May can find some form and Rick hits the ground running plus no more significant injuries or losing the likes of May, Rick, Gawn Melk / Kozzy etc. We just might win a few more than expected. I'm not sure there's a place for Fritta or Spargo in the 22 medium to long term. Consider AJ & Brown Dog for those two even if it's a minor upgrade and just to give them a chance to see if they can bring something to the table. Unlikely they're the answer either but who knows. They might bring a bit more energy, zip and pressure. Every little bit helps at this level. We simply have to play Turner as a forward from here and just let him ply his craft there for the remainder of the season. Don't see him as a 1st stringer tall forward but amazingly he is now our highest rated TF in 2025 (so far). Madness to play him down back, especially now Petty's back in.
