Oliver Trade Rumours
Is it possible that the only other person aside from Simon, wanting to explore every avenue to keep Clarry was Rofey? With her either being pushed out and / or leaving of her own accord seeing she was seemingly the only other person trying to hold the Clarry dam wall from bursting and a big Clarry fan / nurturer from last year on. Her departure then left Pert holding the reigns at the top. Having a counter view to Roffey and then some alleged further misdemeanours, Pert then decides to take it upon himself to put the feelers out and cut our losses now instead of waiting for the levie to break so to speak in 2025. Players (Tracc?) getting more upset and potentially losing multiple good guys during or at the end of 2025 and trouble bringing in potential trade bait instead of loosing Claz now? If Pert did take this route the question is why him and not those in charge within the FD? Does that mean there's also a major split of differences now post Rofey between Simon (others within the FD) and Pert?

How is Tim Lamb still at the club? Super risky going into another trade period given his record over the past two seasons... https://www.facebook.com/share/v/9beBErUftjdj2eNc/?mibextid=D5vuiz

How typically Melbourne Brodie Grundy
I would've taken plan G to Z ahead of plan F (Fail) for Grundy all day every day Dub. Even if it meant getting a tall big bodied B grade forward in that could chop out for 15 min in the ruck for peanuts. Free up cap space for a potential classy outside mid, running HB with skills by hand & foot.

How typically Melbourne Brodie Grundy
Yes that's how i saw it as well. May have cost us a prelim and/or GF Never liked the idea before or during his short tenure. Still not sure what the thinking was that lead to it. Fort's cameo yesterday is living proof (and has been for decades) that you don't need a star ruckman or even a very good + back up. Just a big man (with height) that can halve the ruck contests and occasionally impact around the ground with some relief / outlet marks and spoils.

NON-MFC: Preliminary Finals
L watch Grundy in the CBs... he only has eyes for his opponent and almost always runs over to where he is to place a block. That's his first movement 90% of the time. That's fine if he gets back to the ball and touches it (according to the guidelines and Razor Ray). When he doesn't he needs to be called for blocking the opponent's run at the drop but rarely is. They called him a few times in the first quarter and then put the whistle away after. You could see Reg complaining as he couldn't believe someone was finally picking him up on this. He's gotten away with it far too often, especially the first half of the season before some umps started to crack down a tad more.

NON-MFC: Preliminary Finals
JHF very good as a receiver but no so good at defending the loose player. Talk about lazy on the two way.

NON-MFC: Preliminary Finals
Grundy is a habitual blocker and holder of the opposing ruck but only gets called a few times a match. On my count in this third quarter he's given away four frees in rucking contests so far and none have been called.

Training Ground?
If this gets up and i'm still alive and kicking i will be shouting any DLander i meet at the bar there with their poison of choice. Including your good self Mr Leg. Hoping Mr Old gets to see this also.

Training Ground?
I hope this was said in good 'spirit' and you 'mulled' over it before having a bit of a 'wine' Mr Leg. I would like to see some 'proof' at some point!

NON-MFC: Semi Finals
Hogan's a mile ahead of anyone for contested marking craft. Taken the mantle over from Hawkins. Very good on the lead up timing as well.

Common Giants. Hope Hoges rips them a new one. Bedders to stick it right up Zorko's fat clacker!

Welcome to Demonland: Jack Billings
I have to assume this is a cynical take George as his turnovers got worse in the latter block of games He actually looked 'ok' in small patches during some games but his lack of.penetratiom and inability to kick goals is a major weakness. Also as a small HHF or winger covering for Windsor he doesn't bring much pressure when we don't have the ball. This last part killed us in general this season. We were a terrible pressure team for the most part, only making the AFL average of 180 on a few occasions. You look at GWS & Sydney's pressure levels in the last quarter of their final GWS off the charts at 227! Yet just pipped by Sydney if you can believe it at 232 We were a mile off these teams at their best this season in this regard. Billings and the likes of McAdam (when he played) great examples of who you don't want in your team going forward IF they can't find this aspect coming into 2025. Need to move them on and quickly if so and replace with better.

Hopes for 2025
That's the million dollar question. Preferably someone with millions of dollars who can help get the new facility off the ground. Diamond Joe 2.0 ! 😄

This is where the MFC needs to get on the front foot and start slapping these [censored] for slander with an immediate law suit. Under Roffey & Pert we've been way too quiet in general and way too soft as a club when it comes to standing up for the players and ourselves. We should've tried to hang on to PJ for at least another 3 to 5 years. He was a mile ahead of both in terms of representing and taking the initiative with the press / communicating with members.

Take no notice of the AFL media circus NSC. Anything to make out that we are no good and have a bad culture. Whenever they dont have a story or need one they make something up about us and pretend it's a real issue. Complete dunderheads who will always pander to their love children and preferred marquee players.

Yeh he is one of the worst at that. And he doesn't need to keep bringing that rubbish so often. He's good enough to just get on with things surely

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Thanks for that. A much needed memory ... not. I still recall a young Clazz sticking it to Garland one Sat arvo vs the Hawks at Box Hill. "Lazy defending mate, how about getting on your bike" 😬 And there was more than one bake that arvo lol
