A win's a win but given the domination in the first half at stoppage, clearance and inside 50s this should have been a spiflication and a decent boost to percentage. Thank goodness for Big M, Chandler and in the second half, Melk. Who, playing a higher half forward role around the arc, showed every other team member how to assess and enter the 50 with some sort of connection and AFL level efficiency. No need to panic! And some of the others finally followed, lowering their vision and hitting up a few free targets instead of the ugly festival of shizen forward craft we witnessed in the first half. And on so many other occasions as we all know too well. And the scoring followed in the third and we were on our way. Our Team Rating nearly 4% off that of 2024 which is not the greatest against one of the worst rated teams in the comp. Plenty of upside ahead. The bottom 6 in particular needs improving!! Without a doubt Maxy was obviously BOG. For mine Melky our MVP. Chandler just on his heals. It would appear Tracc is now finding his 2024 form. Can we get Clarry back in and somewhere near his best once again for the icing? We're going to need every little bit of that against the Hawks this week. The last time Max posted a Player Rating this magnificent was Rnd 11, 2024 vs the Saints with a massive 7.20 Just pipping this one. A fabulous game from Chandler. Vines starting to find some form. And Langford in the top 5! The kid's looking promising. Spargo's best game for the year by a country mile. An event or has he turned the corner. And how about Disco!! Melk is better when playing as a higher HF around the arc. Him and Fritta should rarely play alongside each other deep. Just get in each other's way. It's no coincidence that our forward craft and connection looked 30% better once Melk was asked to play as a HHF in the second half

There's no reason why he can't eventually be a decent medium forward like a Waterman or Georgiados. Just needs to be played consistently up forward. Petty back to defence till Rick is ready

Great pressure inside 50.... Kozzy not so much when he's been down there. Needs to find his pressure moj0 inside 50 without the ball

They're all finally taking the lead from Melk and not panicking, lowering their vision and looking for a loose inside 50 👏✅️

He's the only one that assesses and doesn't just automatically roll out and play on, then kick blindly to the hot zone or worse, just an empty paddock or to the line where it's easily knocked over

Is there any chance we can occasionally look for a the odd 45 instead of playing skinny off HB almost always. Just a few times to mix it up and take them on through the middle. I know we're playing it safe and using Max down the line etc but crikey. So predictable.

PANIC PANIC PANIC

So Gawn marks. We control the footy about 75 out. Instead of calmly waiting for a short option or a lead he quickly turns and rolls around on his right kicking it to no one! They gather the spill, cough it up, we cough it up even worse with more panic and worse skills than them (if you can believe it) they then just put speed of foot on the ball and kick and easy joe - the - goose (sort of).

Swap Turner for Petty. And that's saying something. Petty's just not mobile enough for a KF and unable to get much separation, if any, on his man. Useless forward that occasionally gets lucky if the ball's delivered inside super quickly. Our forward line up, methods coming inside and finesse / finishing skills are easily up their with the worst in the AFL. Can't even perform against the worst team in the comp.

Sharp should be straight on for Kolt after half time. Sorry but someone that raw and wet in terms of football smarts, skills and slow reaction / decision making needs to learn it lower down. He's mucked so many moments in that first half. Coach & team killer. Kozzy trying to do too much .... again! Just play the percentages pls. It's a team game!

This club can't handle man on man pressure Won every single source and clearance stat but can't handle a bit of pressure. Constantly turn the ball over under pressure. Nowhere near AFL standard. Woeful coaching, panic stations by so many around and inside 50 No leaders or quality up forward either The forward half madness continues

The game plan is worth Zip if you have zero forward craft, structure, finesse and finish

Ad to this ...anytime we go forward = Almost always BLIND PANIC!! Where do we learn this rubbish

No one looks inside when the come towards the 50 Mostly straight line entries straight toward the goal. So easy to defend

Always tries to kick the leather off the ball. We are now on the verge of kicking ourselves out of this and handing the Eagles their first win.
