Could be absolutely elite. Phenomenal ball control at full speed, great disposal, obviously a ridiculously good mark. Everytime he does something, it is just brilliant. I love underdogs, but I don't think we can let his path into the AFL fool us. He has everything required to be a top player.

Hawks v GWS Should Have Been Cancelled
Jaded No More replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Has the potential to be elite, but not if he continue to play like a scared little mouse. He is just skirting the packs, trying to avoid body contact. Good luck with that. He'd get his arse kicked by Neeld if he played like that for us right now. Pathetic. -
Happy Saturday night. Party time! Go Dees!

About 58 points ahead of where I expected us to be, so I am not going to dare complain. Having said that, please give me bragging rights tonight Melbourne. For once let me have celebratory post footy drinks instead of misery drinks. Go Dees!

Love it, except for the bit where it looks like a school blazer. A bit of redesigning, with a simple embroidered MFC intertwined logo, and a thinner contrast binding (Ralph Lauren style), and I'm buying one!

I was so traumatised watching Bambi as a child, I'm pretty certain I cried for a whole week about it. I guess it was good preparation for watching Melbourne.

Yeah, let's not pretend that there was a single person who read this thread and went "oh I'm sure it will all be just fine, who cares". If you didn't experience a little bit of vomit in the mouth, you are not human.

Can stop feeling sick and obsessively checking Twitter for updates now, like some nutter. Go Grimesy, live another day son!

In our wet dreams maybe. I'll be thankful to make the 8 this year. Top 5 is just wishful thinking.

I got 6, but only because I cannot bring myself to think that we will lose to the scum of the earth Carlton. Again. If we win one match the whole year, please please please let it be against those arrogant filth. I don't think St Kilda or the Dogs are in for a good season, so we're a good chance. Geelong, WCE, Collingwood and Hawthorn are almost guaranteed losses, and Sydney seem set for another good year, so that's a probable loss too. Hoping to best Richmond, Brisbane, Saints, Dogs and Essendon. Carlton the priority though.

You're lucky I'm no longer a mod, or that would get you a lifetime ban. Disgusting!
-
One thing is certain, we won't be losing matches by 15 goals this year, and we won't walk away from games disappointed with the [censored] poor contested effort of our players.
-
Was great when he finally came on. Really helped us win the last half against Brisbane, along with Howe and Grimes. Great speed and agility. Needs to polish off his kicking and he can be anything. A real find!
-
We go on to lose to Collingwood next week.
-
Spot on. Bennell is looser than a cheap street corner hooker. Got to find a purpose in the team, other than running really fast only to miss the ball.
-
And I will accidentally wet my pants with excitement.

LOL! Did about as much as Jonathan Brown. Conditions were shite for a big man pushing up the ground.
-
Aren't we the first team to back up with a win? Pretty good conditioning if you ask me. The thing that frightens me is how panicked and unsettled we looked for most of those two games. Clearly that has a lot to do with trying to implement a new game plan, plus having nowhere near our regular side. Jamar played a half, Garland was taken off with a back injury (doesn't sound too serious thankfully), Sylvia only played one game, as did Green, as did Grimes, and Clark was taken off in the last half. More importantly, in the season proper, great tactical kicks that bring the ball inside our forward 50, are not going to be deemed a free kick to the opposition for going out of bounds. This is a completely different set of rules. What was good is the tackling and pressure on the opposition, right up until the last second. To come up against a fresh team and be completely outplayed, only to scrap out a win, was very good. Grimes was sensational when the game was there to be won, and that is why he is captain. A year out of the game, and his defensive punch then run on to help us get the ball forward to Sellar, was absolutely brilliant. So good to see him out there again. Howe and Bail who barely played were also very good, and will be a big part of season 2012 and beyond. All in all, heaps for us to work on, but also some positives.

Ok WTF is with the dumb bombing of the ball to nobody??
-
Losing to GC is pretty pathetic, but with such a weak team and weird rules, plus horrible rain, no point over analyzing this. Some poor defensive pressure towards the end there which was disappointing. Bennell was WOG for me. Fumbly and loose. Clark BOG.
-
Tackling a huge improvement. Loving Clark. Bring on a proper team and a proper game!
