  1. I wonder if Melksham and Bugg will not only help release the power of Salem to the midfield, but also help us be less reliant on Lumumba's turnovers.
  2. The deal I most hope gets done today is McCarthy to Freo... it will make them less desperate to chase after Hogan.
  3. I think we turned a negative- not being able to get an established A grader, into a positive- turning average players & picks into 2 top 10 draft picks and some role players. When you can turn a negative into a positive, you're a winner. I therefore award us an A. Would be A++ if we trade pick 7 for Prestia today
  4. I don't think they would just not rock up today, there is always a 1% chance someone will want to trade pick 95 for Terlich.
  5. I hated them when the whole Scully debacle happened. But then we bent them over and had a party since, so I like them again.
  6. Pick #7 is probably already my 5th favourite player.
  7. I'm exhausted just reading about all these deals. Can only image how Mahoney is feeling. Well done to everyone involved. We turned around a situation where we couldn't get any A graders to come our way, so we said, we'll go get them ourselves.
  8. This points system is working a treat for us Also, in more exciting news, we just got pick 94 for Fitzy! #winning (in all seriousness, that is not bad, since we can use that to upgrade Harmes or Vanders with that)
  9. I will say this, I'm really glad that we have a good working relationship with so many clubs, especially GC & GWS. I bet that GC wouldn't have honored a deal, or even contemplated doing one with Essendon or Collingwood. We go about our business without trying to 'screw' anyone else, and that is why we can get good win-win deals done. It's a credit to our football department.
  10. Obviously that player is not a GC player, so no Prestia. The plot thickens
  11. Interesting deal. Looks great on paper... unless we finish bottom 4 next year!
  12. Has Gubby Allan ever said anything that wasn't at least partially a lie?
  13. Collingwood can do what they like. They are clearly above the rules. Isn't it sickening to think what Eddie would say if this was a Collingwood player heading to GWS, instead of the other way around? Disgusting, disrespectful, and apparently also illegal in AFL terms... but not if you're Collingwood I suppose.
  14. I hope like hell that Presita's injury comes good and that this trade we've been pushing for for so long does actually eventuate next year. Otherwise, it's been a complete waste of our time.
  15. Two reasons why they are keeping him this year: 1- always a chance to change his mind. If they do well and we don't for example, which could well happen, he may choose to stay 2- his injury right now would be lowering his value. If he gets fit next season, he's still not a free agent and all of a sudden he's worth even more
  16. It works if your window is open, thus you need players to fill gaps for a push at a flag and therefore expect your future pick not to be of very high value anyway. It doesn't work if you're not a destination club and expect to have early round picks the following year. I would be pretty disappointed if we traded next years picks unless we were in a position to gain a very good player. Since this isn't something we have any ability in doing, we have nothing to worry about.
  17. Good times. Demonland says "delist" Player comes runner up in B&F
  18. I was told that he was carrying a leg injury all year and basically told to "suck it up". He still had a good season, it was actually his kicking that was a bit off this year. Might have had something to do with the leg injury.
  19. I really wish Toumpas all the best. I hope he makes it.
  20. He is a class act isn't he? Explains why he was a Collingwood fan growing up. I don't want players like that at our club, no matter how good they are. And he isn't even very good. Enjoy your lazy turnover merchant Pies.
  21. Lets hope pick 3 ends up better than Toumpas, or many of the other early picks we have had that went bust I wish we could attract actual ready made A grade players, but I recognise that not even players at our own club are always keen to stay in it, so we have little chance of attracting good players with multiple options.
  22. If we manage to keep Hogan, everyone at the club deserves a big [censored] medal... Perhaps even a premiership medal!
  23. We'll probably trade him back to a WA club for pick 72 and a used footy in two years time
  24. What really hurts is that once again we have [censored] up a top 10 pick. They should just stop giving them to us. Or better still we should stop being crap at football so we stop getting them. Oh and also that spud Henderson is apparently worth more than Howe. I die.
