Yep. Just a shame when someone has all the attributes to be more than just a regulation role player, and chooses not to do that. Football seems like a really difficult career choice to make, only to then phone in it. A lot of effort if there’s no reward. But I guess we’ve all taken jobs at crappy places because the money was great.

I don’t disagree with you, but you also don’t know everyone’s circumstances. I help my dad every few weeks with errands and other essentials as my mum doesn’t drive and he’s had multiple blood transfusions recently so is prone to dizziness. I’m also an only child. We’ve both had one dose. I get tested every time before I go see him so I know I’m negative. I will be bringing him and my mum over to my place to watch the grand final as the game will finish after curfew and we have a spare room for them to stay. We will all get tested beforehand. I feel 0 guilt for it. I have done the right thing for 18 months. But I’ll be damned if I miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity to watch the grand final with my dad. This might never come around again in his lifetime. Or mine even. If that upsets you, I’m really sorry and I understand. The last 2 years have been awful and hard and debilitating and downright draining. Melbourne has given us the one piece of hope and happiness to hold onto this year and I don’t want to waste it, and frankly I can’t blame anyone else who feels the same. We are human. We can only take so much before our tank runs dry. Mine has well and truly run dry.

I feel like Jimmy is watching and has possessed Gawn’s body after that 5 goal effort on Friday. It’s the most logical explanation for what I witnessed.

Good. Because the forecast right now is for showers. -
If I’m not drunk by midday, I’ve played the day out very badly.

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs

For those who live in Perth, how accurate is your weather forecast 12 days out? Because in Melbourne the weather forecast 12 hours out is wrong 98% of the time. -
This is some SERIOUS dedication. I love it.

Great news that our allocation has sold out. I assume the Dogs allocation will also sell out, unless less Melbourne based Dogs fans are willing to pass on their barcodes. I hope the rest of the tickets are sold to people who are coming to back us! I fully understand that the Dogs are not as hated as Geelong, but I still would hope we would be the sentimental favourites!

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs

PSA: we are in a grand final. This is not a drill. -
Yeah look if they gave us a 57% discount if we break our 57 year premiership drought I will go buy a wheel or a keychain with all the money at my disposal.
-
Same. I hope we get seriously presented on the day and outnumber the Dogs fans.
-
On a per capita of Jaguar drivers in Melbourne I would say 99% are Melbourne fans 😂

I am thrilled for our WA fans who get to go. But also…

I’m going to try and get some Valium or something from my doctor friends. I really think I’ll drop dead if it’s a close game.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY

Great to see that when May and Lever were both off the ground Petty took the role of backline general on himself. I also enjoyed Gawn coaching from the bench. Important to never stop playing your role. -
GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs

Probably but it’s incredibly frustrating to be stuck at home for months on end and watch the Covid numbers tick up every single day in areas with low compliance and even lower vaccination rates. We can’t get to the MCG to watch our team play in a grand final because so many people in the north and west of Melbourne continue to do the wrong thing. It’s infuriating for those of us who have done the right thing for 200 plus days and lost so much in the process. I live in an area with 3 active cases. I can’t see my sick dad or watch the game with him because half our city has decided that Covid restrictions no longer apply to them. And here we are giving away our bloody GFGs instead of going to the game! Of course my comment was tongue in cheek, but it absolutely hurts to miss out on a grand final. Dogs fans got to experience it recently enough. We’ve waited 57 years only to be stuck at home and miss out on all of it! -
GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
Jaded No More replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Totally agreed. Take your Covid infested sh!thole of a suburb and shove it up your backside…. If any Demonlanders live in the western suburbs I exclude you from that…. But also I didn’t see Daniel Andrews rolling out an MCC doctor to tell us why we need to stay home and get vaccinated. I did however note their press conference at the Whitten Oval a few weeks ago. Worked about as well as the Dogs last 3 home and away rounds. -
I also agree with this. We don’t need an extra tall against the Dogs. In fact I would put Petty on Naughton (not sure May has the athleticism to go with him) and have May take Schace so he can’t try to take out Lever. Which of course will mean Lever can chop off Naughton. Unsure who takes Weightman. I would have Rivers on Hannan. Hibbo on Weightman is a serious worry. Hunt?
-
The option would be to chuck Gawn down back and if May is anything other than 100% going in, have a defender as the sub. Tmac will only go down back in a real emergency. He didn’t go back on Friday night until the very last quarter when they pulled Lever off. May was off halfway through the third and we adjusted. Tmac was still forward. And yes of course it helped that were never going to lose at that point. But Tmac down back would be last resort. We would take a defender as the sub in either Smith or Hunt if we are worried about May blowing up. Btw Channel 7 reporter the club hasn’t even bothered with scans for May. He must have pulled up well.

And is flying to WA to watch us play in the granny!

Jason Taylor Re-Signs on Long Term Deal (2021 Thread)
Jaded No More replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
It’s been reported that this was agreed to before the season even started. He’s moving back to SA (going to work with Adelaide I believe) to be with his kids. From all reports he’s been training up someone else to take over his role. -
He only moved there when Lever was taken off in the last to rest. Tmac down back is last resort stuff. This is the grand final. We have worked all year to have a settled team and game plan. And now people want to throw random positional moves? No chance.

Brilliant news. He’s a gun especially with later picks, which I suspect we will have a few years of 😉
