Farewell Jesse Hogan
I said it then and I'll say it now. Leaving Melbourne for Freo was always going to be a worse decision for Hogan than for the MFC. He went looking for something. What he should have gone looking for instead is the level of professionalism required to be an A grade footballer. Talent alone is never enough. His head, rightly or wrongly, was not in the game and not at the club. I wish him nothing but the absolute best on and off the field, but there is no doubt in my mind that he will never reach his full potential. He has definitely found the right club in GWS. Very little external pressure, no media focus in a non footy state, and a club filled to the bream with first round picks where Hogan is just another player.

Ben King Out for 2022 Season
Trac did his ACL very early on and he's gone on to become a star. This is far from ideal, but setbacks early in the career of a very promising player rarely mean much down the track. If anything they teach you about resilience and recovery. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

TRAINING: Friday 11th February 2022
Lol at Viney arguing with the umpire. Never lose that anger Jack!

Scott: 2021 Cats/Dees Prelim Should've Been Postponed
AFL players get Covid tested regularly and would have been tested prior to entry and just after arrival into WA where they were locked away in a hub. It was never going to be Covid. All I hear from this club is whinging and crying.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Or perhaps there would be no Tom McDonald. Hogan and Brown are very different players. Hogan plays best roaming further from goal. In all likelihood if he was still with us McDonald would have been traded and so would Weideman

Why Luke Dunstan came to Melbourne
He’s here for the bullying guys.

2022 Injury List
The two post season surgeries were minor tonsils and wisdom teeth removals. Not exactly surgeries that will impact on a player physically. I think that’s fair reporting.

COVID Disruptions 2022
AFLW teams given permission to fly in fly out of WA this weekend. Absolute joke. WA is a disgrace. I feel for anyone with family over there.

The Members' Brief
Lucky the spicy cough going around is preventing these in person events from taking place.

COVID Disruptions 2022
I also think that with so many more people having had Covid, the fear relating to catching it has somewhat been replaced by inevitability. Not to mention that unlike last season, everyone attending will be vaccinated. At some point everyone has to make the personal choice to either get on with life, or keep isolating.

Year of the Tiger
I was born in the year of the Tiger, which means this will be a year of good luck for me. So rest assured the Dees are going back to back and Richmond can get stuffed.

TRAINING: Friday 28th January 2022
Also in Berwick and can confirm our garbage flooded. Thankfully all my Melbourne gear is stored inside the house and is dry. I assume May’s hamstring tear is no issue? He completed the full session? Any ideas why Lever was on a modified program?

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
This one is crazy, but also has a lot to do with not playing Norf at Marvel in the last few years. We went through a good decade where we couldn't buy a win there, and now we rarely lose in that hole of a ground.

Dees Primed for Repeated Glory
No Greene for the first 6 weeks will really hurt them.

Covid at Best and Fairest
Thrilled I stressed and paid for a test and then walked straight off the plane and out the airport. Not a single person checking. Ah well happy new year

Covid at Best and Fairest
UPDATE: we just got our results (both negative).... 4 hours to get swabbed, 7 hours to get results. Absolutely worth $300!!! We went through Clinical Labs if anyone is interested or desperate. It's $150 per person. Also I applied for the border pass and it was instantaneous

Covid at Best and Fairest
I am two hours deep in the line to get tested. A test I paid privately for. Absolute joke.

Covid at Best and Fairest
I did not know either. But my GP friend suggested it. It’s only for asymptomatic travel testing. I think it’s meant for overseas travel as you need to bring a passport and you get a certificate that is valid internationally. I assume Anna will also accept it 🙄 $300 is a big chunk of money for 2 of us that we didn’t want to spend. But honestly the cost of cancelling if I don’t get my test results back on time is far worse.

Covid at Best and Fairest
I couldn’t handle the stress of waiting. So paid $300 for both me and my husband to go tomorrow to a private testing clinic that promises results in 24 hours. A total joke.

Covid at Best and Fairest
How is getting a PCR test 72 hours prior to arrival, without the need to quarantine until you get results, anymore useful than doing a Rapid Antigen Test at the airport prior to departure? What stops me getting a PCR test, then going to a backpackers and licking the door handles and then flying to QLD 3 days later while positive? All these premiers are doing is chest beating. There is no rhyme or reason to put this much pressure on a system that is meant to serve symptomatic and close contacts, rather than people wanting to travel who are DOUBLE VACCINATED. Either open your borders, or don't. But don't open your borders because you need the tourist dollars at the expense of overwhelming testing centres and labs, so people who truly need to get tested are turned away or isolating for days on end waiting for results. It's selfish and unnecessary. Make me do a RAT daily for all I care.

Covid at Best and Fairest
What a joke. We will waste half a day while up there to get a day 5 test when we are leaving on day 7, and unlikely to even get a result by then. Absolutely moronic behavior. Honestly if I knew those were going to be the rules I wouldn’t have bothered booking this bloody holiday. Not worth the stress 🤬

Covid at Best and Fairest
When did they get tested? Why is going on holidays so stressful now? Bloody moronic premiers.

Covid at Best and Fairest
I’m going for a week of holidays. I don’t want to quarantine

Covid at Best and Fairest
I’m flying to QLD (hopefully) on Thursday. [censored] premier wants me tested because the hell with loading an already overloaded system that should be freed up for those who are symptomatic or close contacts… how long has everyone waited for results if they got a test done after attending the B&F? I worry that 72 hours won’t be enough to test, get results and then apply and receive the border pass.
