Not buying it either. We had the hardest run home of all the top 5 sides. We got stuck on a plane for 8 hours. We quarantined in Perth and played a 60 minute final quarter against West Coast and played Geelong in Geelong. We won all those games and finished top of the ladder. Yet we still travelled to Adelaide for finals and then went on to quarantine in WA. We took our chances and finished 1st! Dogs only have themselves to blame for dropping the double chance and finishing 5th after being top 2 for almost the entire season. They’ve had a very hard run in finals with travel. Finish top 4 as they should have, and it’s a non issue. So cry me a bloody river Dogs. Always with the [censored] underdog story. They’ve had a dream run from the umpires all year. Don’t hear them mentioning that!

They would have had to get a clearance from the AFL to play and there is no way if the AFL thought any of them were even slightly contagious with anything that they would have let those players play. If they had fevers as reported, once the fever break you are likely to not be contagious. I highly doubt any of them were so sick that they couldn’t play. Geelong didn’t make any late changes on game day and they were drinking beer the next day at the pub. Couldn’t have been that sick.

We need to be fully prepared that this will happen again. The Dogs have had a dream run from the umpires all year.

Backline is the only area that can see a change. Do we bring in Hunt or Smith to combat their small quick forwards? How fit is May? I am still keen to bring Hunt in. Rivers hasn’t been at his best in finals. Where’s Bowey was sensational on Friday and his kicking was seriously elite. Would be a big call to drop Rivers. Does Hibbo go out for Smith? For me I would look at bringing Hunt for Hibbo. Or at least make Hunt the sub.

I still think Hunt as medi sub. Also I’m not keen on May vs Naughton with May’s hamstring hanging on by a thread. If he goes down and we don’t have a defender ready to go we are in trouble, as I back the Dogs to win their fair share of very good clearances.

Can’t play Lingers on him because that ruins our attack. Too negative. Gus can’t cover him for speed. A real danger matchup.

Understatement of the decade. If I was a Port supporter I would be calling for blood. It’s one thing to lose, it’s another to play gutless weak football from minute one of a prelim.

Hinkley is probably hosting the boring luncheon. It’s titled “how to choke”.

Port are seriously just woeful. This is the most disgraceful finals performance I’ve ever seen.

Bailey Smith is absolutely on fire. He is killing them. I have no idea who plays on him.

Hard to decide what’s softer, my lockdown [censored] or Port in finals.

Two of the worst chokes of all time. 2020 and 2021 they’ve had a dream bloody run into and in finals. Two home prelims where they played like absolute gutless morons.
