We were absolutely cooked in the last. We put the foot down in the third knowing we would run out of gas in the last. That last quarter was just professional defensive slog. Brilliant. Don’t underestimate how tough these two games were.

Steven May take an absolute bow. What a star!!! A great team performance, against the umps, off a 5 day break, against a team that desperately needed a win at their home ground. So proud of this club, after all the garbage we had thrown at us this off season, we didn’t let it impact us instead we said “watch this” 🫡

Trying to frantically get everyone fed, showered and [censored] off is a marathon on a Thursday night post work and pre football. I absolutely loath Thursday night football. Such an unfriendly fixture for anyone under the age of 70.

This is not going to be a walk over. The only certain win right now is West Coast. We have to come out and start well to take the crowd out of the equation.

Was this done via public complaining? No We asked for it privately for 20 years and my understanding is that we finally got it, but were screwed in other ways such as being one of the unlucky ones to play an SA team in gather round, and travel to Perth twice. Have a look at Carlton’s fixture and tell me the AFL isn’t frothing at giving them a flag this year.

Well there was absolutely no need to give us a 5 day break. We did not need to play Port on Saturday night or open Gather Round on the following Thursday. It's just the AFL screwing the clubs they don't care about. Given the idiotic round 0 fixture as well, it would have been very easy to give us a proper break in between games this early in the season, not to mention skip the back to back interstate games. The AFL does whatever it wants. Always has.

They have clearly never seen Williamson umpire a Melbourne game. He hates us.

Who is as likely to jump ship back to Victoria as any number 1 pick in the history of the draft IMO. If West Coast deserve a priority pick, don't the Hawks? Hell give Essendon one, they haven't won a final in 20 years.

This is going to be a much harder game than most people think. Adelaide are not a bad team, and they are under the pump. With May sore, Viney possibly sick, Clarry with a bung hand and Trac and Chandler also sore, I think it will be a tight contest.
