It’s hard to understand when the compo for a player who is borderline AFL quality is pick 3. If McKay was contracted who would offer North pick 3 for him? He would hardly be worth a second rounder given his output. If his surname wasn’t McKay he would probably be a delisted free agent by now.

Tell me the AFL would bend over backwards for North in this matter if Clarkson wasn’t their coach. Laughable.

To be fair May would be a huge loss if taken out of the game with a head high hit. Probably the second player behind Gawn I would target if I was a thug.

Bedford had just an ok finals series, and Chandler edged him for goals anyway. Age is irrelevant. Chandler has played 33 games. Hill has played 65. This season Chandler averages more score involvements, more tackles and more marks than Hill. Hill averages 1.4 goals a game and Chandler 1. Their stats are almost identical in fact. A small forward role is the most difficult position to play in modern footy. Charlie Cameron IMO is the best small forward in the league. He’s also 29 and has been playing this role for over 200 games.

Freo don’t strike me as an elite environment You could absolutely sort it out if he’s motivated enough

Are we being harsh on him? He went from what 2 games as sub to 24 games. He was always bound to run out of gas. Much like Roo.

Very disappointed to hear of a good player going to the Pies. Freo really are a hot mess. What is the go with Sean Darcy? He could be a great replacement for Gawn long term.

He is a very very nice guy off the field. So is his wife Emma. I honestly think if he doesn’t come to terms with Geelong he will retire.

The only player that will make Sydney significantly better is Grundy. The rest are average players who won’t improve them.

2023 keeps on keeping on

We are definitely losing a fair bit of depth with Dunstan JJ and probably Harmes all gone. On the other hand we need to start giving the younger guys more game time like Laurie and Woewodin, otherwise they’ll go the way of JJ. Howes is another with big wraps on him who may well replace Rivers at half back as we look to push Riv into the middle. The reality is that quality mids are not going to come to us because they won’t get a regular game unless they are exceptional, or bring elite skills to the table.

Yep. 17 times we blew it. We should have won both finals with a smidge of luck. But we had absolutely no luck this season.

And they have no cap space to bring in good ready made players. It’s probably why they want Adams gone.

He’s been around football for 2 decades. He’s worked with many doctors in his time. I have also been told by a few people that she’s a really wonderful doctor. Very focused on the holistic approach to health care and the players really love her. She will be a loss for sure. I also loved that Trac thanked the club psych last night. Having good access to mental health is paramount to professional athletes these days.
