  1. Have you seen the amount of cramping and injuries in the first two rounds? It’s far too hot to play games in early March. Especially in the northern states. The season is so long already and we are asking so much more from players. A practice game is just that, you get extra rotations and players on the bench and you can pick and choose who to play and for how long. Completely different to a proper season match. If they keep extending the season they need to also increase the bench to 5+ sub and increase rotations and probably add in a second bye. Otherwise players will break down more frequently, and nobody wants that.
  2. Sparrow had a job on Dale and did a good job curtailing his influence. Just because you can’t see a player execute their role, doesn’t mean they aren’t doing it. I would keep the same side and give Petty another week. Remembering that we are about to hit a very short break between two Adelaide games and Ben Brown won’t be able to play both. Petty can come in for the Port game and give Ben a rest.
  3. Fingers crossed for Oscar. [censored] hell what rotten luck 😭
  4. That’s not how AFL works. You cannot retaliate by throwing a guy to the ground like you’re in the WWE. It doesn’t matter how much they push your buttons. He’s lucky the guy didn’t hit his head or he’d be out for weeks. This is exactly why they provoked him. He’s a dumb hot head.
  5. He lifted a player off the ground and dumped him off the ball. That’s dangerous and silly. Nothing defensive about that.
  6. Speak for yourself. Me and Clarry need 17 days indoors now to recover. It’s a good thing Bowey had a week off.
  7. I love to hate Freo. They really [censored] me off.
  8. King Clarry is back. [censored] all the haters!
  9. It’s a joke because as we know Freo were coming hard at Gus with a long term deal as well. Most quality players in demand these days get long term deals. And none of them are immune from concussion. At any point any player on a long term deal could get knocked out by Maynard and be forced to medically retire. A club should not be scared to sign quality players to long term deals because the AFL is senseless enough to force them to pay the deal out under their cap, should a player be forced to medically retire. I wonder what would happen if heaven forbid a player on a long term deal was in a fatal or very serious car accident and could no longer play.
  10. That record from 1900 just shows you how far back our poor culture goes
  11. The fix for a Pies Blues grand final is very obviously on Just hope Maynard doesn’t get to play in it this time
  12. 3 ACLs in 5 games. AFL scheduling 5 day turnarounds and four games in humid conditions on slippery grounds. Nothing to see here.
  13. I vowed to not watch any non Melbourne games anymore because I’m really done with the AFL. My husband watching Richmond and I just snuck a peak and immediately I’m reminded what a corrupt piece of garbage this organization has become. The AFL fix to get a Carlton flag is in full swing.
  14. I've set my sights on winning the lottery. It's nice to dream.
  15. The Gussy helmet is a perfect tribute. Almost as perfect as winning the flag will be. Go Dees!
  16. How hard is it to send someone from the club down to Tweet the scores and general play? Relying on Carlton to do it for us is simply ridiculous.
  17. When exactly has that POS Maynard shown any remorse? All he’s ever done is play the woe is me card. I’ve never heard him come out and apologize to Gus nor have I heard Moore, this so called nice guy speak out against the vile Pies fans who cheered an opposition player while out cold. [censored] the Pies and [censored] Maynard.
  18. The Maynard hit took away the career that Gus loved and richly deserved, and for many of us, it took away the love that we had for the game.
  19. What a brilliant heart and soul player Gus has been for us. Putting aside the impact this will have on the team on field, off field his presence will be irreplaceable. I don't think I will ever get over the Maynard incident. It still burns in my stomach, and my interest in football has not been the same since. I hope there is a special place waiting in hell for him. Washing Gus all the very best. He has a bright and long future ahead and he deserves to live out his life with a healthy body and mind. Thank you for always putting our club first. It's time you put your health first now.
  20. Supporters finding any and every reason to complain, dump their own issues on the club, and panic at everything. You are right, it really is business as usual.
  21. He’s already my new favourite Demon
  22. Great news and a big congrats to the Gawns. Would be greatly appreciated if George and Louis could both work on their forward craft ASAP
  23. I agree, and yet, we kick straight and we don't lose Gus out of the midfield rotation in the first five minutes, and we win that game. Pies came out hard, but losing Gus absolutely stuffed us through the middle. Clarry was hampered by a knee, and without Gus we were essentially a rotation down for the entire game in the most important part of the ground.
