Harrison Petty
Proof once again that draft picks are not always the Hail Mary we all hope they will be. For every Oliver and Trac there are dozens of O’Briens. It is why trading quality players is very risky. Petty can be a major contributor to a flag in 2024 and we can then still trade him while contracted. It would be silly to let him go now, unless we believe his foot injury will prevent him from having an impact on games next year and we can get better value now.

Two years is a long time. I’m backing us to keep him.

Tom Hawkins
That’s fair. I am sure everyone has had their own experiences with people both good and bad. I’ve said it on here before that Tom was extremely kind and generous and went above and beyond for my friend’s kid when he was diagnosed with cancer. I have also met Emma through work and she was extremely kind and didn’t scream WAG like quite a few other footballer’s wives I’ve worked with.

My best friend who is a Carlton supporter literally texted me that she's never been happier to see a player delisted. No, thank you.

Farewell James Harmes
This is my gut feel too. To let him go for so little seems weird. On the other hand, he's given us great service for many years and I applaud the club for not standing in his way and just getting it done for his sake. All the very best Harmsey. You started a chain of events that brought limitless joy to thousands of Melbourne fans and you will always be a Premiership hero!

Any word on Angus?
You reckon Maynard practices those types of 'football acts' on Murphy at training?

Any word on Angus?
Didn't Pies fans carry on that Melbourne were negligent to let Gus play despite his previous concussion issues? They didn't seem to mind Murphy playing. If only they were bright enough to understand what irony is.

JJ is not fast nor an elite user. He is best suited for an inside mid role.

Farewell James Harmes
Any player we might be interested in? Going to be quite thin on for midfield depth without Dunstan, JJ and Harmes.

Tom Hawkins
In all honesty if he was open to coming to Melbourne, which I’m 99% certain he isn’t, it would be a good get for us. We need to go all in before Gawn and May are done. Hawkins will give us the focal point up forward that we’ve been crying out for since 2022.

I've spent the last 3 days seeing some pretty horrific things, but this just about tops it.

Farewell James Harmes
If McKay is worth pick 3, Harmes is worth pick 4 🙄😂

Trade Rumours 2023
It’s hard to understand when the compo for a player who is borderline AFL quality is pick 3. If McKay was contracted who would offer North pick 3 for him? He would hardly be worth a second rounder given his output. If his surname wasn’t McKay he would probably be a delisted free agent by now.

To be fair May would be a huge loss if taken out of the game with a head high hit. Probably the second player behind Gawn I would target if I was a thug.

Trade Rumours 2023
Bedford had just an ok finals series, and Chandler edged him for goals anyway. Age is irrelevant. Chandler has played 33 games. Hill has played 65. This season Chandler averages more score involvements, more tackles and more marks than Hill. Hill averages 1.4 goals a game and Chandler 1. Their stats are almost identical in fact. A small forward role is the most difficult position to play in modern footy. Charlie Cameron IMO is the best small forward in the league. He’s also 29 and has been playing this role for over 200 games.

He is a very very nice guy off the field. So is his wife Emma. I honestly think if he doesn’t come to terms with Geelong he will retire.

And also because clubs put much more time and effort into stopping him, as they know how important he is to our game plan.

Maynard only attacks those who he knows he is stronger than, or who are wide open and can’t protect themselves. Like a coward. If he tries going for May it won’t end well for him.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
