I don't disgree with you, but I think Jones has enough currency to say that he would not shirk any contest, and IMO it looked more like he was a bit confused than anything. I wasn't referring to whose man it was, more that he may have misread the flight of the ball (as I said). That is just my assessment of the situation.

I don't remember seeing Jones shirk, definite one from McKenzie amazingly, but he did the work to get back in and get the ball. Davey has shirked his running duties a couple times, don't know what's going on with him. Not looking good, better to be listening on radio than seeing, hurts the eyes

If we were to get him, I don't know what I would do, but it wouldn't be good.

How do you draw that conclusion ? Well shouldn't it have been left on the field?? That seems to be the general theme coming from you. I am not insinuating anything. I am trying to understand your view, and try as hard as I might, I can't. If you feel that these things should be left on the field, then I think it is fair to assume that it must be what you think of the other incidents I mentioned.

It is quite elementary mate, and how YOU can't get it is beyond me. There is no place in society for these sorts of things whatsoever. End of story. How on earth does it happen that a footy field means people can go and forget about basic, common decency? And your argument that it has been going on for time immemorial holds no water either. Twenty years ago there used to be all in brawls on the field, guys getting knocked out and racist remarks being directed at indigenous players on the regular. Rightly these things have been essentially rubbed out. They still happen from time to time, but when they do they cause similar outrage in the community. I suppose you thought that nothing should have happened to Hall for knocking out Staker? Or that nothing should have happened to Sherman for his bigoted comments?

mmmmm..... beer Is it too early?? It is a bit of a worry really, that a little earlier in the season there seemed to be a raft of experienced, senior coaches who would quite likely be available and now they are really a bit thin on the ground. The only reason I still think about Malthouse is because Hird last year came out and said if he were offered the Essendon job he would turn it down. Other than that I can't see who there really is left out of the original wish list. Roos and Matthews will not coach, Clarkson will surely be retained, Malthouse??? and Choco seems to be happy where he is. Next come Eade and Laidley. I really am not sure how I feel about either of them, but essentially I reckon if I'm hesitant, that is probably a sign I'd not be happy with either (not that my opinion matters one iota ). After that, as far as the "experienced" senior coach we are after, who is left??? None I can think of really. So now we are left looking at Neeld, Sanderson and another untried senior coach. Makes me worry a little, although I still reckon we are a smoky to get MM, no matter how fanciful that opinion may be.

Explains the way I feel exactly billy. Initially I would definitely think no, but thinking about it he does have some good attributes. I would still perform Malthouse if the impossible can be done, but it just comes back to me not knowing how I feel about Rocket.
