  1. +1 I am quite glad to see the stats, and that Wattsy smashes most of em.
  2. As distinct from March, April, May, June, July and August???
  3. Wow, prepare for war. Wish I didn't have to go to work soon, I'd like to see the fireworks from this one Needless to say, I still agree with everything you say mate.
  4. Didn't Shaw get 8 weeks??
  5. So true Trenners. I looked back over his stats earlier, and people need to remember that since rd 21 2008 he has only played 13 games due to injury, and didn't take the field until rd 9 2010. That is a year and a half out of footy. He made it back for rd 9 &10, and then did his hammy again not making it back until rd 17. He will not be delisted and I would be amazed if with preseason upon us, they would even RL him. He is one of our best 22 when firing, and with a preseason to go, could come out next year breathing fire.
  6. So very well said billy. I will applaud your logic, not abuse you for it. Put your armour on though, others here are not so accommodating.
  7. Please High Tower, don't say such horrible things. The thought of losing to GCFC and PAFC is more than I could bear.
  8. Do you know what he said do you?? I don't, but simply said that if an ump heard it and deemed it worthy of taking further, then it probably does warrant suspension. Sorry if I offended you.
  9. With you all the way here hardtack. The OP was about having the right controls on this to make sure that he is doing what is required of him day by day. If he meets those requirements and kicks goals then everyone on here will be singing his praises. If not then it just beggars belief. Cook and Fitzy aren't ready for the big leagues yet, and next year at Casey will be a chance for them to develop fully and grow as players. Meanwhile, our other players get to learn off one of the great recent (and natural) forwards to play the game. If he mucks up, he is one and so is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, any hope of finishing his career with some respect and some prospects. Worth a punt in my opinion.
  10. What a [censored]. Considering that the ump who heard it deemed it worthy of pursuit, then it must have been bad enough to attract a suspension. Hopefully one day we can rid our game of these morons.
  11. Well you are the prize goose aren't you! You have just demonstrated how little you know about one T Scully. I think that even the most dedicated Scully criticisers from the Scully thread can even admit that his focus on footy and training is second to none. The guy is a machine. And as to him "demanding a contract".... F it, I'm not even gonna bother getting into it. Blease was really good this week and Gysberts has had a good year this year but has lost his way a little. As for Wonna, this proves the pea heart supporters theory. The bloke was fantastic up until he got ravaged by injury. He is still young, is still very talented and has plenty of time to get it right. Look back a bit, 2008 he played 18 games for 24 goals and ranked equal third goalkicker with Cyril Rioli out of the first year players. Not a bad first year at all, which included the comeback against Freo, dominated by Mr A Wonaemirri. 2009 was gone completely through injury. 2010 only managed 8 games through injury and we all know what has happened with him this year. Give the guy a break. This is a "nail on the head" moment J_T LOL I moved to Albury at the age of 5, with my family, none of whom support AFL at all. Growing up in a place like Albury though, meant that I had to choose a team to follow, and in 1987/88 it was a choice between the Hawks and the Dees for me. Fortunately, I preferred Red and Blue, Stynes and Lyon. And this has shaped my football loving life ever since. I'll admit that it has been a rollercoaster ride, albeit not too scary as there hasn't been loads of ups, but it's one I don't want to get off. It's easy to get down about results, but then something will happen that just erases all of that. For me it has been Jack Watts (specifically his evasive goal from 55 against McLean) who is keeping me going at the moment. And after him, there will be another, and somewhere along this line I believe that I will see the result that we have all ached for, for so long. As Pennant St Dee said "The thought of actually watching the final 5 minutes of the last game of the season knowing your team is going to win the Premiership is something I could only compare to watching my lotto numbers being drawn". Amen Brother! Bring it on!
  12. Yes, on the proviso of what MUST be a mega preseaon, and zero tolerance behaviour clause. And not too much money.
  13. Some really great news this. I cannot wait to see Wonna back in the red and blue. Hopefully he can put the injury clouds behind him and get back to being the star we all thought he would be.
  14. Well to start with, Mc Donald was sensational today. He may have made a couple blues, but all in all he played out of his skin. Hallelujah Howe, Blease was really good, Watts kept up his angry face. Beamer found "it" again, Petterd was great and Dunny was fantastic. In a year or two, these boys will be off the hook
  15. Definitely gone backwards this year. We have had individuals go gangbusters this year, and maybe our win/loss might be better, but the quality of games and play have been much worse this year.
  16. +100 This is such rubbish, and I for one cannot understand why something cannot be done about it. It would have to border on illegal restriction of trade wouldn't it? I am fine with allowing the concessions agreed upon for the "establishment clubs" but they are going way above and beyond regarding the Judd/Visy, Breakfast Point etc.
  17. Fair call, should wait a while after waking up before I take to the computer ! Edit made.
  18. I love all this talk about im being a "great development coach". Unless you are watching different games than me, I would put it to you that our development has gone backwards, not forwards. Some players have thrived, but many have gone backwards, and more importantly "the team" has gone to [censored].
  19. I absolutely think we can beat them, but whether we will or not is an entirely different question. I have no doubt that if our team plays to the best of their ability, as a team, we could beat any team in the comp, especially below those top two. The issue is that we are not playing anywhere near our ability, or as a team, and being against a well-drilled side like WC at a ground we hate does not bode well. Hopefully the Viney effect will have some amazing result and the boys play out of their skins, but I'm not going to get too hopeful.
  20. Hahahaha, nice pick up there Robbie. If that is truly what he believes, then he mustn't be too confident about stealing Scully. And, as you said, if Scully does go for the dough, what would make it different in 5 years time? And the last line about "surrounding its talented youngsters with harder-bodied veterans" seems to fly in the face of all the allegations regarding who they are targeting and recruiting. I cannot see Scully or Ward as harder-bodied veterans just yet.
  21. I think he definitely wins the prize goose award for today, that's for sure.
  22. I believe that it now leaves Sylvia, he who's name I dare not mention, Martin and Morton. But there may be more I am not aware of.
  23. The thing is though Dees, that unless they state it as FACT, and name a source, they always have a get out clause. "I never said he would go", "My source said he was going, I just reported it" etc etc. That is what has caused the season long meltdown that is The Tom Scully Saga ©
  24. That doesn't matter though GoaG, the only stories that are real are the journos spreading rumours that he IS going. Didn't you know this??
  25. Very well said CJJ, I would suggest most of us fall into that category. All the best Jimmy, we are all praying for you mate, and those who don'rt pray are willing you on!
