  1. Hahaha, is it now a race to see how many times this can get posted eh?
  2. I think most people who mention this (myself included) are talking about long term, being in the home of footy, not just career. If he becomes as good as most of us think he will, then it is fair to suggest he will level out with the GWS offer, possibly by the next contract. This would mean he is 2 mil short, but still doing well. But the earning potential from the business contacts in Melbourne etc, would have to be stronger than if he is in a second rate side in Sydney (this may not be the case, but is what I am expecting). Now if we are to believe WM, who is someone who knows Tom and the only person on here who has something from the horses mouth face to face, the $ values are not what has been reported, and therefore there is a good chance that the difference will be even smaller. It is all speculation, every last bit of it, but maybe this gives you some perspective on why some of us hold this view. More of RR stating something as fact, when he actually has no bloody idea like the rest of us. True daisy, but it would be fair to remember the way he was treated by the Bears at the end of the 09 season. Scully has never been treated in such a way by MFC You are a sick, sick man Surely it already has given there has been.... how many of these??
  3. I am firmly in the "I don't know" category, however I personally feel that he will stay. Not for any reason other than a gut feel. Might I just add, every single poster on here is in the "I don't know" category as well. You need to change that to "I believe that he hasn't yet signed, but don't know whether he will go or not".
  4. And I. It is a nice place too, dare I say. Very good point there billy. No-one on here aside from Wolfmother has any factual clue what the offers are. All we have heard is "reportedly", and even these figures have gone up and down like a yoyo. One minute it's 6mil, the next it's 5mil. Glad to hear you say that RR, and I believe it is a fair assessment. You won't be howled down by me. I will be a little embarrassed if it is shown that he in "FACT" made the decision/signed early on, and then lied about that. If he decides to leave though, this does not equate an admission of guilt. I will still have no reason to disbelieve him. As a matter of fact, the longer this goes on, the more things are coming to light from both camps which point to him not having made the decision yet. True, but there's no way known to man you would want to drive from the Eastern Suburbs to Blacktown each day. That'd drive anyone to drink! Thanks once again WM for the updates. It is nice to see someone put their balls on the line and state something as FACT, a word which has been largely ignored this year. To those of you questioning WM, fair enough as you don't know him, but there is nobody out there stating that the offers give are a FACT, only someone who actually knows Tom, has dinner with him from time to time, speaks to him on Boxing Day etc. The writing is on the wall, read it and it says "Tom Scully has not signed any deal yet, and now that the season is over he is giving the biggest decision in his life PROPER consideration, and will advise you all of the outcome of this decision in due course". Stay Tuned.....
  5. Oh my God, this is getting boring. Please Tom hurry up and announce your re-signing with Melbourne, so that we can get back to the important business of Demonland..... deciding who needs to be traded In all seriousness though, as I have said all season, I've no idea whether he will stay or go. That said, the only truths we have been told all season have been from his own mouth, Garry Lyons Mouth and Chip Frawleys mouth. Everything else is pure speculation. So, because I don't know which way he is leaning, I take the people who do know something on their word, and that is that he is now in the process of making the biggest decision of his life. Is it totally unreasonable that he is selfish enough to try look after himself, when all you are selfishly denigrating him for doing so? I've heard him labelled a mercenary, childish and the list could go on and on, but the fact is the only childish ones on here are those who won't allow a kid some time to PROPERLY consider two offers without distraction, AFTER his football commitments are over. When I weigh up the benefits to each offer, it becomes crystal clear that the offer from MFC is better in the long run for his future, and his future earning potential. And this is, I believe, where we will see the difference in the coming days. If I am wrong, I will (un)happily eat my words, and I will be devastated to lose him. If I am right, I do not look forward to the way some of you will treat him given the way he has been treated throughout all of this.
  6. Can't argue with that at all Nasher, it is definitely one of the more stunning turnarounds I can remember.
  7. I had to think about it, cause I reckon Jonesy is a very, very close second. But in the end it had to go to Martin. IMO he was gonna be trade bait at the end of the season, but has absolutely secured his future, and good on him.
  8. Hahahaha, forgot about that game. Geez I was chuffed with myself the first time I caught her B)
  9. Haha, nice one. Think I'll stick with my 'Geez" though. Still got me buggered how he runs and weaves and leaves all in his wake. Brings a smile to my dial just typing this
  10. I saw it, and my instant thought was "next" weekend as he said, and not this weekend as some of you are alluding to. IIRC, Nathan Jones came up to Sydney the weekend after the season finished last year, wonder what he was up to? Seriously guys, give him a break, people do go to Sydney for a holiday from time to time.
  11. Thanks RudeBoy for all the updates on Liam. Glad to hear it isn't too bad an injury. Here's hoping he heals quickly, has a cracking preseason and comes out breathing fire next year!
  12. Stoked for Blease. Slightly off topic, does anyone know what his nickname is? I've started calling him Geez, as that is what I kept saying every time he took off for another blistering run up the guts
  13. Well, there goes that pipedream. He was the one I wanted, although deep down I knew he would re-sign
  14. That should be http://demonland.com/forums deestar.
  15. Couldn't agree more Born to Run. That said I also agree with other posters that just because MS says it is so does not make it so. I don't believe him when he says Scully is GONE, so there is no reason for me to believe him (without some actual evidence for once) about MM. That said, if he is correct, it is definitely a now or never scenario.
  16. Well done to everyone at the club who has made this happen. It is brilliant to see that, just maybe, the gap on FD spending for us might be narrowing instead of widening!
  17. I am not sure how I feel on trading for Gumbleton, but I will definitely add my 2 cents to the "trading Jones a massive NO WAY" brigade.
  18. I agree UTAH. Have no issue with either of em going for a trip, but absolutely reckon they got the penalties the wrong way round. It is the MRP though, and let's face it, their known for their consistency as much as Colin Sylvia B)
  19. Exactly, but there are some round here who have hs transfer papers already signed. Absolutely required for mine.

    Bennell

Yep Gareth, credit where it is due, Bennell had a pretty decent day today. Coupla blues, but he was in good company there, and all in all he stood up pretty well. I really hope he develops into the weapon I reckon is inside of him. He's not there yet, but hopefully our new coach can drag it out of him.
  21. Here's one for all you mob who think that Sylvia is the son of Scully. Sylvia wants to stay a Demon Cut the bloke some slack. He may not be the most consistent player in the league, but he is surrounded by a lot of mediocrity, AND, he wants to stay!
  22. I think it might cap me off too
  23. I find it funny how everyone says about Richmond being useless, yet they just beat us and smashed the Swans last week. Mustn't be too bad. They did have a shizen middle of the season, but seem to have found some form, and at least they play with a bit of heart. I still hate them, but they weren't the rabble that some around here allude to.
