  1. He really stood out for me in the last quarter with his run, and provided a spark when a lot of the other guys were tiring. The strange thing is that you don't normally expect this from a key position player.
  2. Their team actually looks pretty good on paper. But damn, some of their players are performing horribly. Pendles is a gun but very sore, Cloke horribly out of form, Sidebottom not the player he was, Treloar prolific but wasteful and Adams decidedly underwhelming. After reading that sentence, I feel more confident.
  3. Oh wow. Well, they got me. Lol. Edit: I just looked it up and found a HUN article with a mocked up jumper. Didn't see that last time!
  4. That's definitely more important at this stage I think, and we're doing very well there. Good to continue making progress in China and other countries. I read recently that the Denver Broncos were looking to build a link with an AFL club. Might have been North?
  5. [censored], maybe we're the ignorant ones and we never realised. God help us. This is like 'The Others' all over again.
  6. Bugle does not fit into any Collingwood supporters vocabulary.
  7. You haven't presented facts to back up your initial argument, which was that most of Max's effective hit outs were against Brown and Petrie. Where are the facts? And at no stage did I minimise Goldstein's performance. He kicked five goals and arguably had more influence on the game than Gawn. My sentiment is that Max won the ruck battle. Facts state that he won more hitouts than Goldstein, by a long way.
  8. Will be a good battle. Couldn't think of anyone else going to Fasolo, but I'd be a little worried about Fasolo muscling Jetta out of the contest. Having said that, Jetta is bloody tenacious so will fight hard.
  9. I just get the feeling that the performance against Essendon will drive the players to compete like they did on Sunday for the rest of the season. The proof will be in the pudding though.
  10. Yep, he was enormous. All this from a 24 year old with 42 games under his belt. If he continues on this trajectory, Max will be the best ruck in the game by next season.
  11. Can't we just be happy with a very good performance against the best ruck man in the league? I'd wager most of the hit outs won were against Goldstein.
  12. He'll still dominate Grundy if he plays half as well.
  13. Pretty sure there was a time when Stefan Martin was playing down back and rucking with Jamar. Ah, Stefan.
  14. Didn't he play on the weekend against the Dolphins?
  15. Attribute some of that to the interchange caps. Some more 'important' players are pulling higher percentages than they used to, instead of being rotated off the ground like the last couple of seasons.
  16. Would't say Max's kicking is any better than average. He has great hands though and very good awareness. Helps set up those clearances and wins a few himself. Goldstein's coordination and skills for such a big guy are amazing.

  18. A strong wind doesn't stop the players being manic at the contest. They were far more ferocious around the ball in the second quarter - there was a slow start, though not as bad as we're used to.
  19. Agonising to think we almost should be 3 and 0. On the upside, surely this is the best start we've had to a season percentage wise for a long time.
