  1. What have we been doing the last 5 years?
  2. Yep definitely in!
  3. Bad news Rollo, turns out I'm actually playing cricket tomorrow. Sorry for the late notice but there was an issue with the fixtures which meant I didn't find out till yesterday! Good luck boys, hopefully I'll be right for the next game
  4. Definitely worth a go, and I'm stumped as to why we haven't made a play for him in the last couple of seasons. Proven player at VFL level and deserves a go higher.
  5. I'd expect our top three contributors to be Jurrah, Clark and Watts/Green. Hopefully 50 or so for Jurrah, 40 for Clark and at least 20 to 25 from the third. Our game plan in recent years has seen a spread of goals through the midfield from Sylvia, Jones etc, but it's possible now that we have Neeld and a real focal point in Clark that the goals will be less spead as in recent years. Have to wait and see!
  6. Martin, Gawn and Blease are absolutely untouchables I think, other than that looks pretty good.
  7. What were Saad's stats like for the season? From what I saw of him playing I would be pretty happy with either him or Rose filling the small forward role that definitely needs to be filled this off season by someone half decent.
  8. Artie was always good for a laugh, just a little less funny without him around these days.
  9. Yeah, I would be all for trading for a quality player who can fill the role, but there aren't many available at the moment, and a midfielder should be number one priority anyway IMO. I
  10. Whatever happened to good ol' Artie Bucco?
  11. If it is someone of that standard, we'd be much better off using Martin or Gawn.
  12. If we make a play for Setanta, all my faith in our list management department will be lost - he is an absolute hack who is made to look reasonable by the midfield that delivers the ball to him.
  13. His run and carry is what we are desperate for out of the backline, so definitely necessary to keep him there. However if another couple of players emerge in this style next year (maybe Nicho, Bennell), he would be useful rotating through the midfield!
  14. I'd imagine we would still be able to offer him quite a bit of cash, anyone have an idea of how much would be available?
  15. Alroy Gilligan sounds familiar, was he in draft contention last year or listed for an AFL side at all?
  16. Thanks mate!
  17. I have a mate who is keen to play if any more are needed?
  18. Geelong will still be strong finalists next year. Some qualityyoung and middle aged players, plus they are obviously good at recruiting and should fill the gaps fairly quickly. As well as this they have something which is very hard to come by - an extremely strong winning culture, so no way will they finish near the bottom 4.
  19. At least Pendles will be worth that cash. I would be throwing everything we have at him if there is the slightest chance that it could happen.
  20. Not sure how available he is, but I would like to see us make a play for Ben McGlynn. Quality small forward and has some experience. If not him possibly Shannon Byrnes from Geelong? Not sure how old he is though, but isn't part of the Cats starting 22 with Menzel and Christiansen etc breaking in this year.
  21. Absolutely love the guy but just think he is more of a quiet, hardworking leader than a visible, vocal one (ie Moloney), which is what we need IMO.
  22. I would absolutely love Dawes and I have thought the last few years that he would slot in perfectly to our side, however I don't think there is actually a realistic chance of snagging him from the Pies - seems to be too important to their set up and structure in my opinion.
  23. Possible to shotgun one of the back pockets?
  24. Not over until we hear officially that he is staying.
  25. Hey guys i'd love to play if there is a spot, think i would be able to contribute to annhilating the pies and the other rabble.
