Taggert looked great, as did Tynan. Can't be sure but don't think Taggert won a heap of the ball? When he had it though he looked fantastic. Don't mind Lawrence either, could be a genuine prospect as a small forward.
-
I know he is not a star, but we should really have a look at Myles Sewell in the draft as a replacement for a Moloney sort (if he goes). It amazes me that this guy has not been picked up by any one, and it would only take a late pick; why not have a crack?
-
Fairly sure he hasn't had a broken back for his whole career. He is just a lazy pr#ck, and will never give two stuffs about this footy club. Someone else posted somewhere that he loves the idea of being a footballer, it is as simple as that.
-
Maybe Mick Malthouse will feel sorry for his former assistant by the end of the season and join the club as a 'Director of Operations' or something of the like
-
There is an absolute star in Jack Trengove, and it is being strangled to death by Neeld's gameplan as well as the captaincy. Terrible to see

There aren't many things harder than supporting the MFC I would say. The worst part of it is seeing some of the players, such as Sylvia, seemingly not giving a sh$t, closely followed by copping it from other supporters week in week out, as you said. Garland must stay, I truly hope Sylvia goes at the end of the year. I don't care if I cop it for saying this because he has been at the club 8 years (?) and contributed nothing but a lazy attitude, and I believe we would be better off without him. Moloney doesn't seem to be playing with his heart on his sleeve as he was last year, and that indicates to me that there are definitely issues between the senior players and coaching staff (obviously that has been mentioned here plenty of times). If we were to cut the senior players who clearly offer little leadership and little on the field, where would we be? A team with a bunch of 19 to 24 year olds and little experience. So what direction do we take?

I think Suckling is a worry with his skills and run off half back. Petterd would be perfect to come in and nullify him, and if not Dunn should get the job. This man (Suckling) is underestimated massively in my opinion.
-
I think they will start with Frawley/Roughead, Rivers/Hale and McDonald/Franklin. If things don't go to well a re shuffle will see Frawley to Franklin and who knows what from there...
-
Goddard or Stanton would be the most likely stars I believe. However Stanton is not really reknowned for leg speed so might not be quite ideal. Though any kind of quality player would be welcome at the MFC I would hope. I really hope we make a big play at Goddard...

Col could have been one of the best players in the league and the superstar that we have been crying out for for decades, in my opinion. He has showed that through some performances but the fact is he has thrown that opportunity away and now struggles to get some consistency. Anyway, I think the half back idea could work - Davey transitioned well from forward to back.
-
Darn, cheers!
-
Anyone know if the game is televised on abc? Or are they showing a different one
-
Cons - he would win next to no hitouts, and the midfielders will see much less of the ball than they already do. We would struggle even more than we already do

Especially the 5 goal effort against West Coast, in a 100 + point hammering. Not to mention had one of the best defenders in the comp in Glass playing on him.
-
No idea about contract status or that sort of thing, but I really like Matt Suckling from the Hawks. Can run, has good agility and one of the best kicks in the whole league. This is what we need (among others)... any chance?
-
Keep him at full forward. We on this forum and the club have been crying out for a pack-crashing, bag kicking forward, and we finally have him. Let Jamar, Martin and eventually Gawn handle the ruck duties.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
Little Richard replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
I say we win the next 17 matches or so, finish top 3 and use a pick in the late 20's to snare him... bargain! -
Would you plan on having Watts anywhere?
-
I was genuine, obviously thinking of another player... from a different club. I personally think he is well past his use by date at our club and should be offered up for trade at the end of the season. A good deal would be 2 dollars and chocolate milk.

Forgive me if I am wrong but in his second season, wasn't Morton racking up 30 disposals a game pretty consistently?

Absolute shocker, it's just so sad that he doesn't want to put his body on the line for his team mates, and the footy club which has a massive amount of faith in him. He is a passenger, just like the majority of players wearing the red and blue.

Why the heck did we recruit Brian Royal back!?
Little Richard replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Miles Sewell is part of the solution I think. Definitely worth a punt with a late pick, it is bewildering to think that no one has picked him up in the last few years. -
Not relevant at all, and I understand if the thread is removed but I thought everyone could do with a laugh. The Sun is reporting that Richmond 'star', Alex Rance, has a stalker. Seriously, who would waste their time stalking Alex Rance... Story on Herald Sun website, couldn't seem to attach the link.

Little Richard replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is just no contest 9 time out of 10 at the stoppages, the opposition are winning clearances with no resistance and it has happened every game so far. Just makes me sick, Royal has no idea and never has - our midfield has been a piece of shite for years.
