  1. We're looking to the future, as usual. Whether or not it will be different to the past, who knows. I do know I'm looking forward to Hogans first game for the club though and I'm sure a lot of people are - that's our angle cos we ain't got much else right now, that's the brutal truth.
  2. So after many long years of substance abuse, the drugs have finally taken their toll on the brains of the Eagles football department. Well done guys.
  3. We should just do it properly and start a thread on every single AFL listed player, then discuss our trade options for each one!
  4. That's good news, I've got a good decade left then before I even hit the average. I'm going to give the career mode another crack this arvo after work, still annoyed that I got sacked after taking us to 9 and 13 for the 2013 season!
  5. Elite talent does help though. You are only as good as your bottom six players though and Freo's bottom six each week will be solid players able to play a role for the team.
  6. As much as I love chunk, he is not an elite player. He is great and may reach that standard next season or in the near future but he still has a way to go. It is probable that the fact that the team is rubbish affects him a bit and may hold him back from being better but he still has the occasional brain fade or time he can't break a tag which keeps him a rung below elite. He is by miles our best player and I'd back him to become elite but I don't think he is at that stage yet.
  7. I'll go along with it and say it was intended...
  8. Some people have reported (obviously not fact yet) that we have Cross stitched up already and I find this very believable.
  9. I suppose there just isn't enough interest from gamers to warrant putting a lot of money into making it either, not many people will buy it. I feel a bit too old to playing it now!
  10. Because according to reports he is the one wanting to return to Melbourne while the others are not.
  11. Not in our position I think. What we need is success, as quickly as possible. Considering the fact that we are severely stricken of midfield talent in their early to mid twenties (and obviously older), we should be looking at all trade options available to garner a good quality midfielder or two. At this stage it doesn't have to be a player of elite standard - that can come a little later, once we can string a few wins together. To go to the draft without looking to trade pick 2 would be a mistake, we don't have the time right now to try and develop another youngster, unless of course we can pick up the extra midfield grunt with some later picks and clever trading.
  12. People are probably taking into account that Swallow is the most realistic of the bunch (aside from probably Cross and the potential draftees). That influenced my vote, as well as the fact that I think he will still become an absolute gun.
  13. I'm liking how this and Adams has taken the spotlight away from David Swallow. I hope we are stitching him up while everyone is discussing how much crack Martin smoked last weekend.
  14. Celebrating the ODI series win feels cheap... I'll wait until this summer to crack a celebratory froffy.
  15. It would be awesome if GWS just effed Richmond over and got Martin to walk to the PSD. I have a Richmond supporting friend who I was speaking to last night and he believed they were likely to get pick 1 (effectively Boyd) for Martin, I told him he was off his rocker but he was adament it could be done. Bloody Richmond supporters, they're all the same - way too overconfident and poorly educated.
  16. The best scenario for us would be if GWS got in Martin's ear and bent Richmond over, getting him to walk to the PSD where they'd get him for free. After that we could (hopefully) wrangle a deal for Adams that doesn't include pick 2.
  17. Pretty sure Morton retired early in the year
  18. I agree, a player would have to be very brave to come over after all the years of shite. Even with Roos we aren't guaranteed to turn it around so people will be more inclined to wait and see actual results first.
  19. Let's get Woewodin and Trapper back while we're at it, then the midfield will be set!
  20. My mistake, he has recomitted according to the AFL site!
  21. I've suggested it elsewhere but Stokes would be a great addition for us. He can play the small forward role and rotates through the midfield at the Cats. OOC free agent this year.
  22. Fair enough, I can understand the argument but we should probably go best available at that stage, which I think is not Jones. Obviously might change after the finals.
