Elijah Tsatas
The highlights are good but it is 1 match he does pull out whenever there is a contest for the hard ball he needs to gain at least 5-10 kg otherwise he will be dog meat at AFL or VFL level.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Jimmy Toumpas says hello.
-
Farewell Jayden Hunt
He was offered a contract but declined the offer and we should leave it at that, he is wanting a new start and WC offered him one. At least he played over 100 games for the MFC so any offspring may select to play for the MFC.

Farewell Toby Bedford
I think Andy Moniz-Wakefield has a higher ceiling than Toby but he did get a contract offer of 3 years so he must think that GWS will give him more opportunities sometimes players have to wait their turn al la Tuck at Hawthorn I believe he played many games in the Reserves before cementing his place in the 1st's. Players listen to coaches who interview them and promise the earth so they will sign al la Jeremy Howe playing forward by Buckley and he knew he was not a natural forward.

Goody’s Reflections on 2022
Tyson Stengle was there to be recruited

Second half fade outs
All year I have spoken to several supporters and have told them that the fadeout was happening, they all thought I was wrong but the coaches were lulled into a false seen of security by results not facts.

Goody’s Reflections on 2022
When I was a young man I heard Norm Smith talking to some reporters after a premiership and he said that unless you recruit some fresh blood who is good enough to play in the 18 then you tend to go backwards the next year. Unfortunately the MFC thought the improvement would come from within rather than improving the list, sometimes coaches have to listen to history and not put your head in the sand.

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
He reminds me of Schwarz when he started in the reserves a young colt who needed another 2 years of development. Hopefully he wont be like LJ and return to mum in WA.
-
Farewell Brodie Grundy
Actually Paul Salmon played FF for Essendon and left to go to Hawthorn so he could play in the Ruck
-
Farewell Brodie Grundy
Maybe everybody forgot Peter Moore who played ok and won a brownlow at the MFC, maybe Grundy could do the same?
-
Farewell Brodie Grundy
Most of the Collingwood players we got were players which they did not need and unlikely to ever be All Australians past or future unlike Grundy. Grundy is virtually a clone of Jackson but much older, provided the club does a check on his fitness and injury he should be good for at least 4-5 years.

Why did we fade out in games?
Remember Selwyn was the fitness guy at Brisbane and his record is poor as the primary. Fitness was poor this year no matter whose fault. I have always maintained that there is less science in getting players fit and more hard work. I believe that they should train like triathletes by swinning, running and cycling combined with agility work and football.

Farewell Luke Jackson
The main question is what type of person is LJ, if he wants to leave and get to Freo he would expect Freo to compensate the MFC with appropriate value. If they don't he may chose to stay at the MFC rather than go to WC. I believe Freo 1st this year and next year + Blake Acres may be enough to satisfy the MFC.

CASEY: Rd 18 vs Footscray
Kade is definately making a good case to play in the ones.
-
Farewell Luke Jackson
We are very thin in the ruck so losing LJ will be a kick in guts for the team since we need at least another 2 ruckmen with Gawn heading to the twilight of his career. I think we need 4 ruckmen on our list after losing Daw the team was left with part time ruckmen.

CHANGES: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
If he get close a player the quality of Diesel then handy would be an under estimation of his talents. I liken him to Greg Wells when he started.
-
Andrew Gaff
I think Gus would not like to play with Gaff for what he did to little bro.
-
POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs North Melbourne
I looked at the NM game's final statistics and they prove my theory that the only stat that counts is the scoreboard NM seemed to win in lots of criteria but in the end it is meaningless against a team that uses the ball better. The great Hawthorn teams were the same as the MFC their ball use was better and they won games where the opposition won the statistic count but lost the only one that counts the scoreboard.

Dees as the Yardstick
I think Eddie everywhere has missed the point of a GF but believes there will be a $50 Million shortfall but the fact is football has to get the families back to watch daytime football which encourages kids to play and watch football.

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
I thought we were talking about Jacob not the current 199+ forwards I have noticed one thing all these 199+ forwards play well below their knees this is a result of players now work on mobility as well as marking at training so they can be multifaceted rather than the lumbering mark or spoil player who are useless once he ball hits the ground. If you look at the NBA players like Ben Simmons are now guards at 211 not like the old days were guards were between 183-200.

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
Some of the Great goal kickers in the AFL/VFL were not giants but use body and positioning to help them kick huge bags. Abblet Snr, Wade, Pratt and Dunstall were not tall but used their spring or body to out position their opponents.

Ben Brown 150 games
I look at Langdon and along with most good judges who have said his kicking has improved since Mark Williams has taken him under his wing. Sometimes opposition supporter when a player leaves the club they want him to fail because he is no longer one of their players. I look at May, Lever, Langdon, Tomlinson, Brown x 2, Daw, Dunstan, Hibberd and Melksham who in some way have contributed to the success we are now having. A lot of those players have filled holes allowing the younger players to flourish and become AFL Standard along with some improvement in their own football.

Jack Viney 2022 form
I am amazed that Jack Viney is the games record holder of a number that low at the MFC, well done and long may it go on.
-
Ben Brown 150 games
My son-in-law supports NM and when we recruited BB he said he was glad he has gone because he was useless once the ball hit the ground. After the grand final he said he could not believe how much BB has improved playing for the MFC. We must be developing players well when a player on the cusp of 150 can improve his game in just over 1 season.

Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen
The fact is Jacob just turned 19 in April and may grow between now and when he turns 22 so how tall he will be in his prime is a question that no one can answer at the present. Most football clubs rarely measure their players after they were recruited.
