I recall you've been right about these sorts of things before Demon3, so i'll take your word for it Nice to see Bailey's getting his reward for how he handled the Richmond game
-
Look, personally I think he'd be better off retiring rather than playing on. But I’m not going to get worked up on it - given that delisting him would only free up a 4th round or so rookie spot. I’ve never been involved in a professional sporting club. If the football department think he’s worth having around for on and off-field leadership, then I’ll trust their judgement. He’s been far from our worst this season.

I suggest you need to watch the games you have attended, a little closer. And show some respect - he's our captain.

Loved his efforts yesterday, really hope he can keep it up But its going to be very hard to find room for him on the list.

I must have missed the team things that he did today. I did however notice Robbo go for a low percentage snap shot around the left side of his body, when Bate was free. Thanks for the memories Robbo!

To this day, I still don't understand how Robbo wasn't All Australian in 2005. The 97 season was an absolutely horrible one. Robbo as I remember, was one of the few bright sparks towards the end of the season, that made it worth turning up to the footy. Wheels has always been great to watch - love his tackling style, and its just unfortunate that he had so many injury problems, that limited his career -
Sandilands would go for much more than pick 18. Very effective player, and if our list was close to a premiership and we needed a quality ruckman, i'd jump at the chance. But we're not, so moot point.

I think we need 5 spots for drafting: ND 1,2,18,34 and PSD 1 And potentially upgrade Spencer, unless we can keep him as a 3rd year rookie Does anyone know the rules for this? My understanding is that if a club does not upgrade a rookie player to its senior list at the end of their second year, they are eligible for any club to be picked in the ND or PSD. If no club picks them up in these drafts, the club then has an option for them to be rookied for a 3rd year. This takes place after the PSD but before the rookie draft. I am not sure about this, so would appreciate it if anyone could clarify it.

Nathan Jones has got to stop giving out our gameplan before the game!
-
Was his best game in the red and blue (although against [censored] poor opposition) I still don't like his chances of getting a spot on the senior list. 3rd year rookie?
-
Same here. I really liked the fact that it would have been very easy for the players to just go through the motions, especially when it was obvious that the coaching box wanted us to lose. Instead our younger players, led by Jones, Grimes, Dunn, Valenti, Petterd - said hell no, we want the 4 points from this game, stuff the consequences. The winning culture in our younger brigade is there Win / Win today.

Bartram was playing on Riewoldt

Essendon also tanked in 2006 to get the priority pick after the first round

I've loved watching Robbo over the years, but his time is up This is our last year to really stock up on new players, and we can't afford to go into next season with two key forwards who won't be part of our team once we start making finals. Newton has a year left on his contract - and there is still a slight chance he might make it.

You'll be fine getting general admin tickets at the gate. May need to book ahead if you want a reserved seat though.
-
I can see your point there, but remember Richmond won 8 out of their last 11 games last year. Now look at them.
-
From a "list management" perspective, I'd much rather have Johnson in the team ahead of Jamar. Especially with games coming up against the mighty rucks of Richmond and Fremantle

Gees I hate Liverpool But i have to admit, when the whole crowd at the Australia v Uruguay sung the song in unison for the late Johnny Warren, it was very hard not to get a tear in the eye. Would be good to sing it for Jimmy, but don't think it would work too well with a dismal crowd at a big ground
-
If this happens, would be the second time in 3 years that Tigers win the spoon and don't get the no.1 pick! Win Win
-
14 degrees and showers tipped for Monday - why does the weather always seem to be crap whenever we have a big home game You'd hope JW would trump bad weather, but this may bring the crowd down a bit

QUEENSLAND: PERFECT ONE DAY, RIEWOLDTING THE NEXT
IWAP replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well credit to Deegirl - i had my doubts Robbo's career is certainly at an interesting point. Wonder what the dogs were offering for him a couple of years back. On a side note: Good to see Ricky omitted for the Gold Coast game - we don't want him realising that he may be home sick! -
I can't see Robbo being dropped unless he is injured. If i recall, didn't this same source also claim that Jordie Mckenzie was upgraded off the rookie list? Although i can't see why anyone would fabricate something like this, 2 hours before the teams are released - i guess we'll find out soon enough
-
I think there is only so much you can expect from supporters. We don't have a large supporter base to begin with - we've finished 14th, 16th, and likely 16th again - a large percentage like me are probably having an internal dilemna as to whether its in the teams best interest to actually win. Yes it would be great to have huge numbers of Dees supporters turn up to every game, but it just ain't gonna happen. If they are going to turn up, i'd rather it be for our home games.
