Jackson has pointed towards this as a significant contributor to our coming debt. Whatever you think about the coach, players or board, the fewer that turn up the quicker we are to dying. I congratulate you on only missing a couple of matches. However, when one of the most vocal and opinionated members of 'land proves to be a fair weather supporter who does not attend anymore and would rather play golf, he deserves ridicule. If you don't like that, go back to the TV.

On a slight side note.... Does the club get extra money if paid up members attend matches, or does the membership mean they get the full amount allocated for that person regardless of attendance? A mate of mine who was a Fitzroy member used to buy an extra FFC membership each year with the view that if every member bought 2, it would double their member numbers and help the club significantly. I thought it a good idea and have done this a couple of times when I could spare the dosh but didn't use the membership for entry. Anyone clarify this? Maybe I would have been better donating the money directly (or spending it on antidepressants).

He helped out at stoppages by standing around pointing and telling teammates what to do. I used to get very frustrated a few years ago watching Beamer and Jones constantly trying to barge through packs with the ball only to get tackled and correctly pinged by the umps. Beamer was the 'senior' player, Jones the young pupil, so to speak. Fast forward to 2013... Beamer gone and I don't see Jones doing this much anymore, but notice Its still part of Beamer's repertoire. Don't miss him anymore. Did we use the compo pick on Matt Jones or Dean Turlich? Not sure, but if so, I'm happy with that call.
