  1. Yep, we have no control over who they pick to play or don't play. We just need to win and build a belief that we can win each time we run onto the ground, regardless of opposition. Confidence and self belief.
  2. On the other hand, Roos looks to be exactly what a football 'teacher' should be. Hands on, instructive, demonstrating, encouraging, hard when need be and, importantly, with a clear view to the bigger picture. PS. A friend of mine taught English to Mark Neeld in what is now VCE. She said he still has essays outstanding from over 20 yrs ago. He was apparently a bit of a smart rrrse. Ironic that he became a school teacher.
  3. Just as well your ticker is getting an overhaul. The ladies won't know what's hit them! Hope it goes well.
  4. New lady on the scene Bitty?
  5. Your finest work, bal.
  6. Wonder if the statue will display Jimmy in that bent knee kicking action with gloves and thigh protector on..... Always thought the kick looked a touch awkward but very effective, so familiar when I think of the games I saw him play. Wonderful footballer.
  7. Would've thought they'd put it up on the club site a week in advance to let fans know, unless it's a closed session. Don't know how it can be closed at Gosch's, unless they pull one almighty shower curtain around it.
  8. Wouldn't it be great to have 2-3 wins by round 5 with the prospect of Garland and possibly Clark returning to boost the line up about that time? Thinking positive.....
  9. Sounds like we should be chipping in per win to you Al.
  10. I must have missed it Colin. Which thread was that?
  11. Because quick sensationalism is always easier to sell than long term perspective.
  12. Like that the press are calling it a one punch attack. Coward's punch would be better. Phrases such as king hit do not fit the act.
  13. The club must be confident this year.
  14. FWIW I thought Hogan played well in the intra club a couple of weeks ago. I didn't get to this recent one, but he did some very good things in the previous intra club, so it surprises me to hear people say he shouldn't play rd 1.
  15. Even just one AA would be a pleasant change.
  16. Fair enough. Apologies grandoldflag.
  17. I wasn't speaking on behalf of Jazza, he was simply expressing a view that is held by many on this forum. It's an opinion, not a bashing. I thought your personal dig at another poster should be called for what it was, a cheap shot. No biggie, agree to disagree.
  18. Cheap shot JJT. I'm pretty certain that Jazza isn't a no 1 draft pick in a billion dollar competition that is colloquially known as a religion in this country. Unless there is something you are hiding from us Jazza?
  19. Geez, which one would play ruck dees64?
  20. Did I call you names? No. However, on the whole, your comments are simplistic. If we could survey everyone on 'land the results would be conclusive. Why don't you start a thread and prove it without a single vote being cast? Lol! It is simplistic to say that "the most highly decorated juniors over the last 7 years" have been screwed because of 2 coaches.
  21. Agreed. Balanced viewpoint.
  22. Oh that's right... play the man and not the ball. Good one, an in depth response which addresses the post. Not simplistic at all. Congratulations.
  23. Seriously mate, you have NFI. You're full of simplistic comments which are so far from reality it's laughable. Do you honestly think its solely the fault of 2 coaches that 'highly decorated juniors' flopped? How's Nate Jones gone the last few years? What about AA Chip and Jamar in 2010? While in hindsight Neeld and Bails were not the best choices, it's more than the coaches that caused players to not to perform. Maybe, just maybe it's also themselves. I really hope that Jack Watts has a massive season, partly because if he flops again he'll look pretty [censored] stupid giving backhanders like that to previous coaches (that is, assuming the validity of the OP). I want to see him be an AA, but comments about past coaches are bad form, especially when you are far from being a star yourself. Be careful who you kick on your way up, Jack, if you are on the way up........
