  1. Some good points bub. However, all I'm saying is that we have been pretty good with later draft picks in recent times. I'd rather use one on a youngster than fill up a spot with a 34 year old who hasn't played senior footy since I don't know when. I'd rather Roos do a trade with our higher picks to get much younger guns with some experience.
  2. Pick 60 vs ROK??? Here's a (albeit selective) sample titan... Pick 61 Jarrod Lyons Pick 66 Paul Puopolo Pick 60 Clint Bartram Pick 62 Ben Sinclair Pick 79 Jesse White Pick 75 Shane Savage Pick 63 Tyson Goldsack Pick 71 Justin Westoff Pick 61 Matthew Stokes Pick 65 Tom Langdon Pick 60 Mitch Honeychurch With Roos and co in charge, I'd have no doubt backing them to use the pick well on a youngster.
  3. Interesting article on coaching backgrounds and experience. Old coaches are beautiful coaches. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2014/jul/31/afl-should-realise-old-coaches-are-beautiful-coaches
  4. Absolutely agree with your last sentence. However, Rhino is too old and is finished as a player. If he was 30, maybe... at 34, no. It's not a masters comp, the game and players are getting quicker every year. Agreed.
  5. Real men don't eat quiche Bitty. And I'm pretty certain PT stands for psycho-therapist...
  6. Honestly..... you don't put a guy on the field because he's a leader, used to be a gun or used to play under the current coach. You put him in the team because he's currently of AFL standard and will be part of your team's future. We've got too many guys who will need to be replaced soon. I admire Rhino and loved watching his career at the Swans, but he's almost 34 and can't get a senior game where he now plays. His career is over. As part of the coaching or support staff, sure. As a player, absolutely not.
  7. ^^^ This sums up perfectly what has been happening.
  8. No, no, and no. He's no Dustin Fletcher. Had a great career, but it's over.
  9. So old McDonald had a farm after all.
  10. Good career overall. 2 flags and 100+ games means he has been a bloody good footballer.
  11. It would be fair to say that most people (perhaps outside of stubborn MFC fans) believe Chip will leave and most probably wouldn't begrudge him. Not good mail or any authority, just the way it is.
  12. Given up the darts and then started the hallucinogens Jazza?
  13. Roosy's presser today he said the players got a real boost seeing Hogan join in the training session yesterday. "I mean, we even saw in one session what we've missed this year, he was terrific." Really looking forward to seeing him play, this year or 2015.
  14. Hopefully not with us. Sewell's hammies are stuffed and Rhino's about to get a letter from the queen.
  15. Exactly what I was getting at dc. Beautifully illustrated.
  16. "Pec Deck"??? Is your trainer a Kiwi by chance Bitty? If so, I think she was referring to you, unfortunately.
  17. If we delist him at season's end he becomes a delisted free agent and he could go anywhere, in theory. In reality, he's retired and won't come back.
  18. I understood dazzledavey36 had played semi professional footy? This thread has made a fool of you picket.
  19. On a side note to the Essendon drug fiasco, I heard that seven wheelchair athletes have been banned from the Commonwealth Games paralympics after they tested positive for WD40.
  20. If he is delisted, would it not make him a delisted FA? He could go where he wanted. However, it is a moot point IMO. He's done.
  21. And people accuse me of dragging the discussion into the gutter......
  22. Get your hands off my diacussion dc!
  23. Wrong dc. Hot air balloon maker.
  24. You're a master baiter Bitty, in every sense of the phrase.
