Except that he appears to not want to go within about 100km of us. That and Geelong are apparently the FA club of his choice. Kinda helps if he agrees to go to a club for the trade to happen. Nice dream though.

While I sometimes think the apparent lack of interest that, (a)Melbourne are showing in other team's gun players, or (b)these guns are showing in coming to the Dee's, could be concerning, I have to remind myself that Team Roos is in charge and we are no longer a club of loose lips. As Roos wrote in that email posted somewhere here, don't believe the media hype. It is still very early days. Hearing that teams like Richmond are into all and sundry tells me we are better off working quietly to attract talent. We're the underdog, but most players and managers would be aware of our supposed cap space and MFC are vastly improved upon where we were 3 years ago, on and off field.

Has a FA offer ever been matched by the player's current club with the view to trade for value? Not aware of one yet. If that happens, how about we get in on the mix: Adelaide get Geelong's 2015 and 2016 first round picks and Jimmy Toumpas. Geelong gets Danger and gives up 2 x 1st rounders and Horlin-Smith (or insert alternative GFC player name here). Melbourne gives up Toumpas and gets Horlin-Smith (or, as above)

Swann is talking bs. He knows full well we didn't get pick 3 as compo for Chip, we got band 1 compo which because of our ladder position turned into pick 3. Same compo rules apply to all clubs. Lower clubs who get FA compo should get a higher pick for that compo. For Leuie or Kruze to be touted as band 1 compo is laughable.
