Have you not heard that Roos doesn't want to go for Bennell? As much as Roos could be creating a smoke screen for a quiet deal, he was quite clear in saying Bennell was not what we were looking for. Of them I thought Fitzy may be kept as depth/insurance should some our tall stocks become thin. He certainly was no star, but I thought he played some reasonably good footy this year. I guess the tunnel ball marked his card, that and his average kicking.

Agree. I too like the drive of our young blokes wanting to play finals asap. Coupled with brining in older heads who have finals experience and leadership qualities. Playing finals will certainly help to keep our young stars together rather than seek opportunities elsewhere. I think Tippett would cost a lot in terms of trade and salary, and I think the AFL would crawl all over it in a flash. Like the idea, but don't think it will happen. I still think we must focus on quality midfielders.

I think as his tank and physical size improve, his disposal will likewise improve. Skills often drop as players get exhausted, particularly the first year guys. A lot of upside to Gus, can't wait!
