  1. I'd rather fish n chips in Moorabin Biff. Goes well with beer and taunting Saints supporters
  2. I'll be sculling from a bottleneck. Catch up for beers later?
  3. IMO Spencer has given himself every chance of playing R1 alongside Max. He's had a very good preseason and impressive community cup games. I always thought he was ruck insurance, but I'm coming around to thinking that there might be a case for playing him over Pedo. Maybe that's partly because we haven't seen Pedo in the C Cup games. It's certainly one of the more interesting selection dilemmas as we turn into the season proper.
  4. You are one sick puppy with that edit Wrecker45. You fit in well on this thread!
  5. Please, enough about your wardrobe picket, I'm still finishing dinner!
  6. That's the crux of it. We've been unable to stem the flood of turnovers for years. Every club does them, the better ones do less and they have less impact. Ours against WCE cost us many goals. We need to address this, it will happen as players mature and make better decisions. My heart is in my mouth every time Tmac, Omac, Garland, et al shoot off a handball or kick.
  7. One thing is certain, should we beat the Saints in R1 you'd better hold onto your hat. It'll be a wild and exciting ride in season 2017.
  8. How very dare you criticise our esteemed club dazzle! Don't you know, young people don't look at the club website anymore... Having said that, much of the content is controlled by the AFL. But I agree, it wouldn't take much for the simple things like player profiles to be up to date and consistent
  9. Really? I was at this game where Greig was taken out. One of the hardest hits I've seen on a field. And while I agree with some that Matthews was an amazing player, he was also an appalling sniper without boundaries:
  10. The Hun, meh... Surprised they can count to 50
  11. But at least the merc didn't break down or your driver go out on strike in sympathy with the taxi drivers
  12. Well put DD. I'd add Sean Wight to that list as well. All wonderful people.
  13. You're absolutely right Biffen, white men are hard done by these days. This guy, the chairman of Tesco, claims that white men are an endangered species in current day boardrooms. He'd know, he's, um... er, a privileged white male and he's in the boardroom of a major international company, so that, er, proves it I guess...
  14. No, I'd get no service if I mentioned Uncle Bitter. My morning deconstructed soy latte with a caramel twist is way too important to risk
  15. Treated poorly by many and rarely had a harsh word to say about anyone
  16. Cannot see the Hawks sliding too far for too long. IMO they may not even slide outside the eight before rising again. 2017 is not 1907. Claims they may dip to the bottom or spend 10+ years in decline are wishful thinking. Noble, nonetheless, I might add.
  17. I've met the man (and I use that term very loosly, such was my confusion), so have Biffen and your fine self Maple. Can't be that picky. Matter of fact, I'd go so far as to say he was able to hold his head just a little bit higher in our company.
  18. At some point it will go against 'last to touch' over the boundary. Reason they'll use is that it keeps the ball in play and more likely to play down the corridor
  19. Whilst only preseason, it's clear to me that we have numerous young players that are important going forward but still some way off holding their place. The Weed and Omac are two examples. I still think it's worth playing them in the seniors where possible for development, but it may be that Goodwin gives them a spell at Casey to hone specific aspects of their game. There are others who make me shake my head and hope we have alternative options for selection when the season begins, eg Harmes and ANB. I was pleased with much of our game, but frustrated by the turnovers and poor decision making/skill execution at times. WCE at home are a step up from us. Given the number of good players who were down (Gawn, Tracc, Dom, Watts), I am still very positive for the season proper. Love seeing the improvement of Gus, Salem, Clarry, Spencer. Please no more injuries before R1
  20. Hopefully the Weed gets a bit more of it in 2nd half.
  21. It's 30 deg apparently. Maybe there are extra interchange player due to heat???
  22. With all due respect, I'm not sure the score in a pre season match is all that important RTG. Watching WCE run rings around us from half back through the corridor is worrying.
